  1. Full house last night at Longboard Haven, thrilled to have Michael Lambert and Matthew Morison of the Canadian Olympic Alpine team in the house before heading to Sochi 2014
  2. Hi I am not sure that anyone will remember me from here, a couple shoulder injuries and other mishaps has kept me away for the slopes for the last couple of years, I am back and looking forward to winter. A lot has changed, the biggest thing being I now own a longboard skate shop in downtown Toronto, called Longboard Haven. It is Toronto's newest skate shop offering the best quality longboards and skate gear for riders of all ages and abilities. Our philosphy is simple, "if we don't ride it, we don't stock it", we are focused on providing the best equipment, customer service and expertise. Longboard Haven is thrilled to partner with Apex Sport and Kessler Canada, becoming the first ever showroom dedicated to leading-edge snowboard race technology. We are holding an event at the shop on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 to celebrate this step in bringing together people who love a perfect carved turn and to wish members of the Canadian Olympic Alpine team good luck before heading to Sochi. Here is a link to the event and please like us on FB, Twitter and Instagram!!! https://www.facebook.com/events/205030819680072/ Looking forward to catching up with everyone. All the best, Rob
  3. Shaggy and Ken Great to see that you are both alive and well!! Hope to carve a few turns with you both in the future!! All the best, Rob
  4. Speedzilla - great graphics on the topsheet!! Bruce - absolute beauty in contruction!! Shred - thanks for the vision!! Now I need one!!! Rob
  5. Steve: My suggestion is treat yourself and get a set of BTS's from Fin. It is the best upgrade you can put to a Raichle/Deeluxe boot. Just my 2 cents Canadian Rob
  6. I do not know who fed you that nonsense!!!!! I have a 184 PR that Bruce built for me almost 7 years ago - it see's 10-15 days per season and it rides today as well as it did the first day being place in my hand. The camber is still alive and well. To say that the quality still continues - I was luck to pick up a slightly used 177 All Mountain a couple seasons ago and it has performed as well as my first Pure Race. Just my 2 cents Canadian Rob
  7. I went to Louis with my son on Sunday and I would honestly give my "left nut" for another day of riding like that. Perfect is not a good enough word - hero winter snow, blue sky and sunshine - the hills never even got marked up I am hoping that mother nature continues to cooperate and I can get up this week. All the best, Rob
  8. Ralph: Thanks for the morning smile, brother!!!!! Hopefully paths will cross in the future! All the best, Rob
  9. I am absolutely thrilled with mine, riding a blue/red combo. I could never get my Suzuka's feeling right - could not ride in walk mode and could not find the right angle in locked. Put in the BTS's last season - have loved them! Just my 2 cents Canadian Rob
  10. POW: Saw them also - look like a great option for people with skinny ankles/calfs - like me. Has anyone out there tried them??? All the best, Rob
  11. I race slalom, ride skateboard parks, cruise longboards and run downhill in the summer months - all of it helps your snowboarding technique! Choose what you like and have fun - you will not be disappointed. All the best, Rob
  12. Gabe: My plans exactly - the weather looks much better for Saturday - colder and sunny. See you there. All the best, Rob
  13. I cannot do Saturday - but plan to be there Sunday Rob
  14. Guys & Gals: Just checked the weather and both weekend days are the same - cold, sunny - small chance of flurries. My plans are to be there early Sunday AM. Welcome all those who want to join. All the best, Rob
  15. Scott: Excellent work - your should enable a printable version. It would become the bible of carving. All the best, Rob
  16. Unless I experience an act of God - I will be unable to attend tomorrow - the pile of work on my desk grew astronomically in the last few days. To everyone attending - carve a tight line for me. All the best, Rob
  17. Anyone out there have a set of red springs that they would like to get rid of. I am running all blues in my BTS and think I would prefer the stiffer reds. Anyone willing to sell - I am interested in buying. All the best, Rob
  18. I am potentially heading up tomorrow early AM and ten Sunday early AM. Just waiting for my hall pass All the best, Rob
  19. Jules: Thanks for the update - it helps I am still worried that the base is relatively thin - wrong turn in the wrong place can kill a board. With rain called for today - who knows. Seems like we will be getting some winter on Sunday/Monday All the best, Rob
  20. Hey Guys & Gals: Can anyone report on the actual snow conditions in the Barrie area, more specifically Mount St. Louis Moonstone. The web cams make it look white, but they are reporting 15cm - 35cm base - do not want to risk a board if the snow is only just covering the ground. Any input or actual reports would be appreciated. All the best, Rob
  21. I to received my BTS's from YYZ Canuck - they look and feel incredible. Got them installed, but unfortunately we don't have any snow to try them out - current conditions are 6-8 degress above freezing and we have not seen snow - time to move west Many thanks to Fin for building them and Dave/Andrea getting them to me All the best, Rob
  22. Hey Guys and Gals: I have a brand-new Deeluxe/Raichle boot bag for sale. Perfect for the travellers who want to protect their boots. Make me an offer Rob
  23. Skatha: Your graft probably ended up in the "Chef's Surprise" in the hospital cafateria. All the best, Rob
  24. Topgun: Another option is to take it to Sporting Life Boards and Bikes store on Yonge Street. Ask for Brian Spago - I am sure he is still doing the original tunes on all of Bruce's Coilers (Bruce might clarify this point). As Gabe said, just don't leave it there and expect a good tune - talk to the person doing the work, so they understand what needs to be done. Welcome aboard and if you want to longboard or slalom skateboard this summer - please feel to contact me. All the best, Rob
  25. Hey Guys and Gals: This will be the last weekend that MSLM will be open - according to them. The weather looks the best for Sunday - so I am planning to be there early AM. All the best, Rob
