  1. Where are you shipping from? Also, this appears to be the board that sold last February, with a pair of td1's for 75 bucks. Still have the td1's?
  2. Alright. I have a set of catek os-1 step ins that I am trying to convert to standard bails to use as a demo setup (sometimes with ski boots). Looking to straight up trade my heel receivers, toe bails and sole blocks for your toe and heel bails with all 4 sole blocks. Trade is straight up for similar condition.
  3. If someone is interested in these as step-ins, I have the parts and am willing to trade (straight up)
  4. What kind of trades are you interested in? Trying to piece together a soft book setup and these would help for sure. I have quite the stack of boards that I would consider parting with.
  5. Sorry, IT looks like we all missed this one as we have been riding. We have one more day of Demos and are FLOODED with vendors. Bomber (Fin is here with all his demo goodies) Donek (Sean is here with all his demo goodies) Coiler (Bruce is here with all his demo goodies) Jasey-Jay Anderson is here in person with all of his new boards Joerg is here with his pureboarding boards Kessler has sent a full suite of boards Hope you can make it tomorrow, one last day and the groom should feel like aspen tomorrow!
  6. Sean, Does this mean we are pulling the 205 out of the closet at the ECES for you to ride next week? I think it is about time!
  7. Thought I would put a final post into my thread. Things are progressing nicely. I got back out on the hill this past weekend with mixed results, but directionally favorable every day. Still have a long time until I might have a chance of being headache free. Wanted to share the following though (and it will only likely be valid for the next day or so), but the on hill photographer at Stratton actually got my first turn "back" on film, and has used it for the front page photo today! Looking forward to the ECES as it looks like I will be able to do some limited riding. www.stratton.com

I think part of the reason that you aren't seeing posts in the main forum is that those posts have been steered into a different sub forum: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/forumdisplay.php?62-Announcements-RSVP-Discussion as well as towards facebook. https://www.facebook.com/pages/East-Coast-Expression-Session/174167805963323

Thanks for asking, I made out "fair" this weekend. I had some good runs, and I had a couple that re-enforced that I might not be ready to be on the hill yet. One day at a time.

The ECES is inherently a lower key event. SES is organized by BOL, who's livelihood is the snowboard industry. The ECES is organized by a dedicated group of volunteers. So, the hoo-pla is not quite as large, and the venue not quite as good as Aspen, but the event is solid IMHO. There are some things where the ECES stands to be BETTER then the SES though. 1) I think East coast groom is better for carving than Aspen's soft snow 2) I believe we will have a larger demo offering then SES 3) I think the banquet will end up being about the same size with comprable Raffle. 4) You don't have to worry about Loosing Fin while he is chasing after Elle McPhearson! How far away would you be comming from?
  11. Totally bummed I missed these. If anyone else has a pair, please let me know!
  12. 1) (this more than any other) the guy was a polarizer, but riding 4 days a week with CMC for my first years of carving made a huge difference 2) the rest of the Stratton gang. Consistently riding with great riders make you better in so many ways (PSR, Shaggy, Cheri, the Cloyes family, Steph, Alex, Paul K, Crispin, Rudy and many more). Each of these people have taught me something I would never have picked up on my own. 3) Many SES and ECES (carving events in general). Similar to #2 above, riding with other carvers with different styles, views, techniques has made me a stronger rider even if I don't agree with them. Joerg from pureboarding Is the prime example of this. I learned a completely different way to make a carved turn from him at SES. Not my cup of tea, but made me a stronger rider. 4) Finding a board builder that works well with me. Sean at Donek and I are on a similar wave length, think similarly, and communicate well. This combined with his experience and tools has resulted in boards that continually allow me to push my capabilities. If you think that there is nothing better than that 15 year old board you still swear by, call Donek, Coiler or Prior and have them build you a new ride. 5) catek bindings. Company might be on the decline (if not gone), but being able to completely dial in my stance was a huge game changer for me. If something doesn't feel right in my stance, I can change it right then and there and continue riding with confidence. Without getting all sappy, I find it that 3.5 out of 5 of my game changers revolve around people, not things. I
  13. I was at the startingate today and think they have a pair of head stratos pros in your size. Call and talk to "Chance" (it's his real name). Ask him if you can demo or rent a boot in your size with intent of buying if things go well as long as you can apply the demo cost to the cost of the boot. They have the Head stratos pros in really large and really small for half price or so right now. They are getting out of hardboots.

Matt We should meet up. I used to live in Marlborough and now live in boxborough. I commute through Marlborough every day. I am sure I can help you get set up on the cheap. And please try to make it to the ECES like everyone else has said. Send me an email through the forum. Where do you normally ski/ride?

  16. 7.5 womens puts you into a 24.0 or 24.5 Mondopoint boot. This puts you just out of the demo fleet range, and not into a boot size that is common with anyone I know. You might want to try to snoop around for a used pair or something else to use in a pinch. Call the startingate (http://www.startingate.net/pages/Contact-Us.html) Ask to talk to someone "downstairs" to see if they have any of their Head Snowboard boots in your size. If they do, I am guessing you can rent/demo/or buy them for darn cheap.

I know it's the beginning of presidents week, but is anyone riding stratton this weekend? I'm going to try to get out for first runs on Sunday and am looking for people to ride with as my last unsupervised outing did not end well ;-(
  18. Welcome! I might be able to help you out, but the most important thing in all of this will be your boot size. What size is your foot? Where are you located?
  19. Cleaning out the parts bin while out of action. Heck, maybe I can sell enough to fund a new toy to fill the boredom. I made a set of polycarbonate protective spacers to use wih my cateks when there were problems with metal boards breaking. Needless to say the current Donek boards I am riding are robust enough that these are just added weight and a PITA to deal with. If you need a set, pay for the shipping and they are yours just for karmas sake. That being said, you get what you pay for, I am NOT warranting their ability to protect your high end race board.
  20. Not worth much, but cleaning out the parts bin. These are the heels off of my most recently purchased track 700s. I'm a step in user so these got pulled off pretty quick when the boots arrived. They were used as a drink coaster for 1 happy hour so I must Sell them as used. I believe these sell for $10 each in the BOL store when they are new. Make a reasonable offer and they are yours!
  21. Cleaning out the parts bin while out of action. Heck, maybe I can sell enough to fund a new toy to fill the boredom. These are the current adjusters (black), have 5 runs on them before I pulled the RAB off of my old boots. I believe these sell for $14/each on the BOL store. Make a reasonable offer and they are yours. I also have a single grey one with an unknown number of days on it.
  22. Quite sobering for someone recovering from a similar accident. Makes me feel blessed and lucky!
  23. Every day is better than the last, but I still have a LONG way to go. Still don't remember the 20 hours before the accident or 10 thereafter. All of January is cloudy, but getting clearer Still no idea what happened. Might snowshoe up tomorrow to where it happened to see if I can recall anything. Still wake up every morning not knowing what day it is Having difficulty commuting things to memory even today. Post concussion headaches are a $&@! Can't concentrate on anything without getting a headache. Mood swings are present and very real. Good stuff though, took my 3 year old out on the bunny hill today. It was good for both of us. Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement.
  24. Come to the eces. Bring your up. Demo all the free carve style boards. I am certain you will find an existing shape from Donek or Coiler that rides better than your up. If you don't find something you like, Sean from Donek and Bruce from Coiler will both be there and you can talk to them about what customization you might need.
  25. Thanks to all, Looks like I am off snow for a month. . . . better then some of the alternatives! To those of you who are taking your helmets seriously post concussion, what helmets offer the best concussion protection? I was surprised that i did NOT find any consumer reports articles on this. -Todd
