  1. Top sheet pictures. Unfortunately the owner defaced the top with their name. . . unless S. Harding is someone famous!!!!
  2. Here you go! Please e-mail me if you want me to send you the full size pictures. ~tb
  3. I just click through his other auctions. . . if this is what he has listed. . . he has a darn impressive collection. I will get pictures up today or tomorrow for you. -Todd
  4. Ill sell mine for less then this guy thinks he's going to get on e-bay!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/VTG-BURTON-SAFARI-SLALOM-RACE-80s-SNOWBOARD-RARE-OLD-/160463681222?pt=Snowboarding&hash=item255c6176c6#ht_500wt_777
  5. Came across a "fair" condition Burton Safari 175. SIMILAR to the one below http://www.flickr.com/photos/jogiboarder/1288524668/ Anyone interested in it as wall art?
  6. bryan, care to add the Kessler K-plate to your list? http://www.kessler-swiss.com/en/ski.html# Also, whats the chance of adding a brief descriptor. I am curious which of each of these are plates like the kildy plates versus the "karl" style isoplates. Worth adding a column?
  7. Maybe I will pull out the postal scale later tonight. . . but does anyone else on this thread know how much the rest of a set up weighs? How much does a boot weigh (with Fintec and BTS)? how about a TD2/3 or OS2 with all the bells and whistles (including hardware)? an "average" 185 cm Board? Plex plates? What % change are we really talking about here?
  8. Pardon the "Semi-Cross Post" but I thought this video was worth it. . . I have had several conversations with other freecarvers in the off season about wether or not these new plate systems have a place in our quivers. The olympics proved that they have a place in the gates, but is the added weight worth it in our day to day riding? Sean @ Donek snowboards just put a video up in the Vendor section showing some non-partisan benefits of the plate systems in general. Worth the view. Having not been on one (yet), it made me quite a bit more interested in demoing one as soon as their is enough snow to throw a 4X4 plate on one of my "oldie but goodies." <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xKE0xcN0Oc?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xKE0xcN0Oc?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Mods. . . if I have broken a rule with this cross post. . . please let me know and delete it, but I thought this one was worth a view in the carving community area as well.
  9. There are two major differences for this year in my oppinion. Snowman can speak more to how they ride, I can speak more to the numbers on why they ride that way ;-) 1) The camber and decamber profiles have been completely re-worked. According to all those who rode the different camber profiles, the one Sean landed on is heads and shoulders above last years board. This might not what you are looking for as I believe it made the ride more smooth and predictable. 2) (And this is where you will be interested) Sean has been working on VSR and Decambered boards with no metal and very little rubber. Trying to get the smooth and silky to stick around but to get some of that POP back that many of us miss. Most refer to them as "glass" boards, but they likely also have some carbon and other fibers mixed in. Racers likely wont like them, but some of us freecarvers will eat them up! As for the fun smack talk . . . Y'all need something better to do this time of year ;-) I like both the 14-20 and the 14-24. Hopefully I will have one of each soon so I can make the decision on a day by day basis. The 14-24 unfortuneately takes one of my favorite runs out of play on all but the most epic carving days. If I had to pick one for the east coast, I would go 14-20. If I had to pick one for out west, it would be 14-24 (or bigger).
  10. Just got my new gate bashing weapon to bring along! http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=311699&posted=1#post311699
  11. Sean finally got around to sending me a board and thought I would share some pic before I left town for a little while. New 2010 Camber profile and variable sidecut radius Metal Construction HOT tri-axial carbon fiber topsheet All the inserts I could possibly want. And a plate to put on it to play with until the production plates are ready. Can't wait to give this new board a rip. The construction is not quite "stock" but based on some of the feedback, I think this could replace my "bread and butter board" (Before any of the photogs pounces on me. . . Shot in a rush, white balance is likely off)
  12. Segment From youtube <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ7IqIA1Aeo?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ7IqIA1Aeo?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Sean . . . maybe he can help you with next years board shapes!!!! E8 Li sidecuts!!!! (Physics geeks can point out that that doesn't make sense)
  13. consider me as in line with these two others. . . for some reason, I am hunting to own my first three boards. . . again. This would be #2
  14. That's the plan right now! We have kid number 2 on the way, which will likely keep me in MA most of the time this winter. So I figure rather then big weekends, I will be looking for a week night racing league either at Nashoba, Ward or the Wa! Going thought all this talk of new board shapes and plates has given me the itch to actually get in the gates with the new stuff!!!
  15. Great feedback. . . . Which boards did Sean get you on, and which version of the plate system did you ride? The first one that is sandwich construction, or one of the capped constructions? I can't wait to get riding and racing on this stuff this winter.
  16. DAMN!!!! 2-3 pounds is SCARY impressive. and I think I mean the scary . . . can a 2-3 pound plate keep shreddy attached to a board and out of the hospital? Are you talking 2-3 lbs for plate and hardware, or just plate? If you really have a system down this low, man do I really want one. Any chance at a real weigh in of plate plus hardware? neat to see this stuff
  17. come on . . . make with at least the basics? 4X4 compatible? ?-insert compatible? Looks like Bruce's handywork. Is it? Weight? Stack height? Does the diving board infront of the front binding actually do anything? Looks narrow compared to the board, how narrow of a board can it fit on? Its going to be one hell of a fun season next year! -Todd
  18. Phil, Generally I think you have excellent and well founded points, but I think I disagree with you here. I believe that if we were to freeze a board mid turn that has a plate system and analyze what is happening at the fixed and floating point, the forces (and therefore the flat spots) resolve identically. at any "frozen" point in time, we can assume the slider is stationary and therefore are acting just as two identical hinge points with forces normal to the board. If I were to take seans board with seans plate on it and strap it to my feet, and stand on my bed allowing the board to flex (as if mid turn), the flat spot on the front mount should look the same as the flat spot on the back mount. (Though I have yet to ride one either) I believe that these plate systems are more about isolation the dynamic motion of the board as it undulates through turns and ruts from the lower body. This should allow a rider to be less fatigued and focus more on balance. Keep the posts coming sean! Love the videos! -Todd
  19. Alright. . . With all the posts in the vendor threads on the prototype work taking place at A-Basin still, im getting the itch to head out and check some if out first hand. How much longer do you locals thing the conditions will hold out for atleast morning carving?
  20. Sold and shipped to rjnakata.
  21. Hit up canyons yesterday and had an incredible day! no new snow, but some good grooming and great spring conditions on what wasn't groomed. G-Force was like a needle in the carving vein all day long. Huge area that is well worth the visit for any other carvers heading out this way! not as much snow as solitude or brighton.
  22. Thanks for the advice guys, Solitude was nice today. Wish I could have taken the skirt off and ridden better!
  23. Loupa, you were the first to respond. Let me know if you are interested or they are going to go to rjnakata.
  24. Alright, three people interested but I am not sure what fair market value is for these. First off, for those who asked, they are NOT thermoflex. These are non-moldable standard liners. As point of reference, Thermoflex liners are $177 new. I Can't imagine a non thermoflex liner costing more than $100 new? When I buy stuff "lightly used" I refuse to pay more than 60% of new price so it would be hypocritical of me to ask for more than that. $60 plus shipping (From Utah)? Any takers? -Todd
