  1. Ok update from today. They definitely had a little rain event late yesterday with a icy layer over all the new snow . Snowed and sleeted today sticking to your goggles. Major wind also causing horrible visibility. Hope the sun comes out tomorrow. I am 50/50 thinking about going again. However this what meadows needed to make some good groomers but they might not be ready by tomorrow.
  2. Lol that's a really old thread but yes a little bc kicker action. Really fun trip but sad thinking about it. Was with my friend Marty and his best friend who was killed in the bengazi attack. He was a cia agent named Glen Doughty . Really awesome guy and great skier.
  3. Looks good! I work thru Sunday and will hit up Monday and Tuesday next week. Let me know if you want to meet up!
  4. Rode tline on Saturday while my daughter was in the Cato high school ski races. Got early runs starting at 815am . Firm technical riding with some good spots on the mile . The 2 inches of new really helped. The palmer was open and it was good midway down. The top was real firm with blue ice below. Overall a good day the hone my ice skills!
  5. It stills looks like fun . Where was that at ?
  6. MHM isnt much better and it looks high and dry for a week or more ?
  7. Looks like you might hit it right ... Friday: Snow in the morning...then rain and snow in the afternoon. precipitation may be heavy at times in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 7 to 14 inches. Snow level near 2500 feet in the afternoon. Wish Mt Hood was getting some of this but we only get a warmer dusting. However snow in seattle for some traffic chaos predicted too .
  8. Great area ! , awesome view off the back of Mt Ranier if its clear . However I would "pray for snow" at this point....
  9. Honestly i have tried diamox and hated the metallic taste in my mouth . Best thing that works for me is pretreat with nsaids ( 2 otc alieve twice a day) and drink lots of water . The headache is the worst and in portland going from sealevel to the top of Mt Hood (11200ft) in 6 hours can easily trigger it .
  10. Yes this absolutely true, They market sildenafil under a different name in the US for hypertension (revatio) . We actually grind up viagra tabs at my work to make a suspension for neonatal kids with pulmonary hypertension . Viagra for babies!
  11. Hmmm I wonder how Bryan knows this rule ? There is no replacement for displacement . Ride a Tanker 2k ! Float rules .
  12. Hey Bryan I didn't see any other alpine guys while out. Didn't get any damage but did a few last second ollies over some bad looking spots. Yes we need snow bad!
  13. Rode my coiler with tink plate today. Definitely icy with not so great grooming. Eventually warmed up high first but they need snow bad! Some bad brown spots in the usual places. Got a decent work out in but 10 x better last week.
  14. Might ride tomorrow if things looks Ok . Give me a shout if you make it up !
  15. I have been on a bunch of Cat trips with my friend Mark who knew the starter/owner of INCA. He has 2 of the boards and rode them for years until finally buying a coiler ....? He is a local PNW oregon person and son of "privileged" parents who set him up in the business from what i understand.
  16. Yes today. Much better than expected. Star was really nice top to bottom. Even north canyon was good. Still cold and caulky. Weird warm inversion half way up cascade . Warm almost too warm ..
  17. Really nice day at the mountain. Great grooming on north canyon and star. Amazing what they have done on this base. Rode my volkl cross with a soft booster friend. I wouldn't have hesitated riding my best alpine gear as coverage was really good. Good fast and just hard enough. Cascade was blow out frozen with a warm inversion up high coming in with the front.
  18. Looks nice Bryan! Must be really cold! How's the wind? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  19. Nice! Hope they get cascade and star open for you. Go tapatalk... much easier for phone use! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  20. ]Hey had really good first day riding. Yes the snow quality is excellent but thin on sun exposed aspects. Got in the first crowd up mex at 845. Really good knee deep powder in the bowls but you had to watch for rocks. They never opened cascade because it was still clouded over with flurries till 11. If you can get it tomorrow you will be loving life. Looked impressive up high. Not sure about star but wished it was open today. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
