  1. Its weird, Last night at 1am I was walking out of the hospital that I work at and passed the a guy who was bringing in bagels and bread for the food service kitchen and I noticed his van parked at the curb. It was a old MLY demo cube van .....had to take a camera phone pic Jim
  2. Started in 1982 with a burton backhill and some kind of sim's thing that you bolted an old school skateboard on w/ skyhooks. We rode the small hills of wisconsin. I was perhaps the first snowboarder at several hills including powderhorn and rib mtn. Did the old "lets watch and see if you can turn and stop that thing" In 1986 got a 165 burton safari w/ highbacks and switched out the next year for burton 5-hole plates and my rachlie flexon comp ski boots. I had to put extra screws in them to keep from ripping out the inserts. Boat epoxy was my best friend! I still have 2 sets of the old burton bindings... Jim
  3. He is something from the snowboard journal... Bindings Use New Features Like Power Plates for Better Control and Edge Hold Skiers have been doing it for years. Now Volkl has a riser for snowboards that provides damping and elevation for improved power transfer. The V-Flex can be used with strap, step-in or plate bindings. Volkl has also designed a new highback that provides stiffness without the discomfort. New straps conform to the rider's boots, spreading pressure uniformly over the foot. Volkl also offers women's and youth bindings.
  4. It seems like combining the v-flex with some td1's and it would give a cheap td2 ...? Interesting product, anyone ever try it ? Jim
  5. I am in need of a pair size 29's if they have them. I think the intution ones are black. At the ski show they claimed that they are superior to themoflexs as they make for rachlie .... Please get me a set if they have 29 or 30's size 11.5 .... I will gladly pay extra for shipping Jim
  6. At least they are makin snow at Mt Bachelor. Up around Mt Hood we are still waiting and praying that this weekends storm will open up Meadows. Although the main run down pine martin is kind of steep its an awesome feeling when you can carve the whole thing at full speed without stopping! I am going down to bend on Feb 18-19-20 for an education meeting held every night at the deschutes brewery at 7pm. (sponsered by pfizer=open bar) I hope to see you then so we can make some turns. Pic is of top of pine martin .... Jim
  7. Buy it , Ride it.... and if you need the $ or want to trade it for a Tanker I will drive down to bend and make a deal with you . Jim in pdx
  8. If someone backs out , I will gladly take there spot. Jim

    jumps

I done a few tabletops with Mike T and Jason at Timberline in the spring but I have always felt a little fearful. About 6 years ago I was jumping a large windlip down one of favorite lines at MtHoodMeadows and overshot on to ice causing a compression facture of my back. I think a park/jump lesson for carvers would be cool. Perhaps Lonerider can come out to Mike's MHES in may a put one on for us. Timberline has there jumps and parks perfect in May while getting ready for camper season. We usaully sneak a few runs in between the park but probably should be jumping them.
  12. I was curious because I have never seen those graphics before. I have the same ones as in this post's pic. 2002 3-d model in a 2k and 192 length. I also have a 192 with the green topsheet and hibicus flowers but pulled the front inserts out . Does anyone know where to get a bag that fits a 2k? I took mine to canada last year and it got some base damage on the snowmobile ride to the snowcat lodge . Jim
  13. Bryan, What year was that tanker made ? Just curious .... Jim

    snow

I did 3 days there last year (3+ hrs from pdx). It is has the best views of any NW ski area. It is just next to Mt Rainier, separated by a river valley. It is an awesome area and plan to go back again as i have a niece in tacoma. I helped out with ussa races there last as a course maintance worker though Sean from snowperformance. You need to check it out , although midweek days are best as it gets a big seattle crowd. Jim
  15. Wasnt there one one these SUV vs Car vs motobike vs bicyle vs walking vs sitting on your ass typing on the computer threads from last year about this time........ :o Jim

    soft shell

I just bought a softshell at the Columbia employee store because it was a good $ . We have a friend that works as a designer there and they expect them to be popular. Mountain Hardware (now owned by columbia) had the first ones out last year. I guess they sold alot and now every company has them, Columbia borrowed there design since they are in-house now. I let you know how mine works, it is supposed to be waterproof/breathable with taped seams and a goretex like membrane. Jim

  20. I hoping for better mpg than 18, the epa range is 18-24 on the sticker. Like any car, if you are pedal heavy milage will suffer. Most people that have this car are doing in 22-25 range for normal driving. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3155
  21. Dont forget about subaru. They redesigned the legacy line this year and they are nice . I bought an 05 Legacy GT wagon....AWD...2.5liter turbo= fast & sporty yet reasonable mpg for 26k. http://legacygt.com/ Jim
  22. I will trade you a set of td1 Standard bails for intec stepin bails. Why dont we just swap the parts and keep our own disks and base pieces. Email me jmcgrane @ comcast . net (remove spaces) also I have an extra "0" disk I could trade for one of you "3"s Jim
