  1. Maybe the 11th ? I need to switch out of working that sunday... Jim
  2. This thread is for those people who are serious about wanting to do a carve clinic on fri 14th or sat 15th . Sean from snowperformance is away on business but wants us to organize this so he can be ready when he gets back to town. The questions are which day is best and how many. He is giving us a great deal as his only request are that we comp his ticket and put together some cash to tune his demo boards and provide some liquid refreshments post riding . please reply if interested Jim :D
  3. I am going to Meadows on monday morning if anyone wants to join. They still have a 123" base with 8 new in 24hrs although it is supposed to warm up sunday. Jim
  4. I will be making the drive from portland every day if anyone wants to stay downtown pdx as an option . I am willing drive people up and back if needed. It takes about an 1 hr and 15min to get to T-line. It is nice to be right there as mike has stated and I think you can get good deals at that time of the year.
  5. Sean , I am also interested also, plus I have 2 other local riders interested (Mark & Eric) . We need to decide what day or days to do this . Jim
  6. I am game because I really want 2 -3's . I will trade with Byran's friend since he is local for some 0's . Hopefully they will work on a 3 holer... jim
  7. I have 2 6deg disks w/bumpers and will trade for 3 or 0's ... Jim
  8. My 5yo daughter got a new snowboading Barbie and I found out she rides alpine! I guess she must be cool .... stance 50/45 22cm length 2.5cm waist ... Jim
  9. Hey I think I can make those days too. By the way D-Sub, my wife is a real estate broker in Portland, and can give you some advice and help with home buying in Bend and surrounding area, if interested. Drop me an email if you want help and contact info. Jim:cool:
  10. Mike, You are right we should pick some days soon. Probably sometime early May before the ski/snowboard camps start and after most of the other US ski areas close down . What do think, midweek days or weekend ? I dont go enough to T-line to know what weekends are like that time of year, but this might be better for people from out of town. Jim
  11. Eric...er treehugger what channel are you going to be on ? Sandy and Socheat are coming up to ride with use at 9-10am also... Mike you need to get healthy for your sun peaks carve camp. I wish I cound go too, maybe the summer one at hood. Sean wants to do a one day clinic with us in May for our 1st annual NWES ...(northwest expression session?) Jim
  12. I am going to ride at Mt Hood Meadows on wednesday morning if anyone want to come? It should be warm and sunny . Jim
  13. I also helped out up at Crystal Mtn and had a great time. It was fun doing the preruns and made me realize how hard real GS and Sl can be . I hope to do it again next year. I wish I could be down at Bachelor this weekend but have to work in portland. Hopefully all the snow we are getting in the cascades wont screw up the course too much (18"/24h at hood) . I feel the pain that the race course slippers will have this weekend. We all need to support and encourage the furture generation of racers coming up in the ranks by hosting more of these type of events. It was great riding with all of the Wa / seattle area riders... Jim
  14. I had one front insert let go...stripped? I let the screw get loose and rode on it all day with td1's . I used a longer screw and it still holds yet but now will check them after every day out riding. Jim
  15. Mike , I think this is a great idea , we had some nice days last year . We should have plenty of snow yet! Just pick some days soon , so I can ask off from work . I will foward you some of last years videos so that people can get an idea on what it is like. Perhaps you can host a link. Did you & Byran get any of the ones I sent last night from meadows. Comcast is such a pain for uploading, 256k upload, 1.8 mb down .... Jim
  16. Stephen Koch is on the cover of Outside magazine. Here is a front page example of a snowboarder who uses hardboots with plates for montaineering, not that anyone would notice the difference. He is seen climbing Everest in what look like some old Rachlie snowboard boots... (green tongue)w/ rubber vibram soles. I guess he gave up up his 7 summits goal out of fear of for his life after a close call for an avalanch. I wonder what kind of gear he uses and if he can lay downs some trenchs. FYI Jim
  17. Mike, I was planning on coming up wednesday & thrusday. I will see you there, will carry radio with 5-12... Jim
  18. Years back, when in school, I bought stuff from the flying fish shop. They are windsurfing/snowboarding type of place. I am not sure if they sell anything anymore as this was 1992... It seems like there is core group of carvers in Madison , I am sure one of them can help. I buy most of my stuff off the classifieds on BOL as there isnt even a place in portland metro that sells alpine anymore .... Jim in PDX
  19. I will be on a family ski trip to Mt Bachelor oregon from jan 22 (thursday) to jan 25 (sunday) . Anyone who wants to join me for some runs call me on FRS 5-12 each day or email for a phone#. Jim
  20. I have 125's and there pretty much the same as 325 or 425's. Hopefully you will get the race tongues that they come with. You will have to drill a hole if you put step'ins on them. I upgraded mine with thermoflexs and a booster strap. They are much better than any 3 buckle series sb boot. They have a silver shell with black race tongues... Jim
  21. I have a meeting at 9am, but might drive up after it . I wil try you on the radio if i come....1030am Jim
  22. I ride both locked at #3 on sb series in all conditions..groomers or powder
  23. So we come up there and you will training us by training the assistant coachs? Sounds like a good deal for driving up . Jim
  24. Mike & Jason, I am willing to drive up for the day if you want to carpool... Jim
