  1. Why not open up the voting to the worldwide Bomber community and post the the competitors runs online for all of us to vote. 'Carve Factor' its similar to the 'X Factor' but enjoyable.
  2. Where are you going as I will be in Tignes for a week next Saturday?

O’Dear, I now realise why you do not use your nationality in your profile. Trolls do not recognise international borders. Next time you want to be funny with mild xenophobia get your biscuit nationality correct, Walkers are Scottish. In fact do me a favour, next time you see someone from Scotland make sure to call him Scotch. Time to lay down some carves on my computer, rubbish ones obviously as apparently you need to live in a ski resort to be a good snowboarder. Bye:sleep:

What do you mean stacking up? Why does this restrict performance? I maybe gave a bad example. I will use myself instead, I can ride my modern race board (SG) anywhere and on any pitch on the mountain. Hell, its even rideable in powder. Is that your Kessler in the pic, if it is how do you find the Vist? Again what are you talking about, it was called Alpine snowboarding back in the day to differentiate between soft and hard boots, not because it was born in the Alps. You maybe know best because you live in the Alps and I get my information from Eurosport!! Then again I started riding many, many years ago, started my race career on Safari's, raced against the likes of Jean Nerva and have been riding hardboots ever since.

You make some interesting points but could you further explain some of them? Who are the public as I would consider myself one but I know all about plate systems. Really? Why do racers use them then? What are the limitations you speak of. If you think you cannot use an alpine board on the steep check out the Extreme carving guys. That is something I can definitely agree upon.
  6. Saw this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221168464083?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D221168464083%26_rdc%3D1 and thought if you could get a good deal on shipping it could work out. Its not mine by the way.

Its best to watch it with the sound off and commentate yourself, as the commentator is clueless. Plus if he wanted to go down that route he should have called him "Wic Vild". I might apply for the job myself, as there was so much you could talk about. New plate systems, old plate systems, over half the field using 20 year old boots, the amazing racing etc, etc.

Mens 1/ Prommegger 2/ Mathies 3/ Wild Womens 1/ Takeuchi 2/ Calve 3/ Karstens Ride of the day was Caroline Calve in the semi's, totally washed out but somehow after riding a little switch turned the board around and won her semi. Great riding.
  9. over-engineered. logo and a heel bail. A heel bail is loved by all hard booters.
  10. I agree, if you do a general search on the website you get some bad readings. However I have been using this app very successfully for road and mountain biking, boarding, skiing and running with no peculiar readings for speed, distance or heart rate. I have a lot of readings in the 50's and 60's in La Plagne where there a lot of flats so mach speed is required to escape unclipping and walking. Fastest I have done on my road bike is around 48ish down steep hills and I personally feel I go faster on my board. Tarmac is way scarier than snow.
  11. As the title suggests bring your boots as this vid was shot on 28th of April and its started to snow in Scotland yesterday. http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?37961-Hardbooting-in-Scotland
  12. Not sure how accurate app is, but it was fast.
  13. Just to get into the mood for the upcoming season I've just edited (not very well) my final day of last season. Its at Cairngorm where I met fellow BOL member Kieran for a days shredding. A lot of people naysay Scottish skiing, but when its good its really good. Enjoy.
  14. 'beasted' as in ride the hell out of it. Note to self "go to the gym". I have ridden a glass Donek 185 (modern one with candy bar base graphics) which Kieran own's and loved it. That was in Scotland on small runs so I can't wait to get my new deck to Europe this season.
  15. Here's mine ex-demo Rev 185, and its going to get beasted. If anyone is going to buy a Donek the carbonium topsheet is a winner. Hurry up winter.
  16. You might find this interesting http://www.frozen-backside.de/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=3790
  17. Glad it turned out ok for you. Reread this thread and it reminded me of a similar thread on a British forum. Here is the vid (don't watch if you are of a nervous disposition) thread http://www.goneboarding.co.uk/forum/crash-in-kitzbuel-with-a-skier-very-serious-in-jury-all-on-camera-dont-watc/threadid/38159/showthread.aspx
  18. Mmmmmm, you are correct, but that's in a world where people are thoughtful and aware of what they are doing. After driving an emergency vehicle for fifteen years I am now aware that I am surrounded by idiots who cannot drive or refuse to acknowledge there are other road users. Same goes for piste, I'm always having a 360 degree look about. Ps why are you not on the hill, winds are only gusting to 70mph:)
  19. I am not in the know like you guys so I can only comment what I see on the goggle box. Nerves=mistakes. In the last alpine event Morrison had a 1.29 advantage over Karl in the second run at Carezza but fell. Yeah, it's racing I know. Don't get me wrong, I love watching Matt Morrison ride. If I remember rightly I saw a video of him winning in Valmenco a couple of years ago and it was a beautiful ride to behold.

Great racing Men 1.Grabner 2.Mathies 3.Prommegger Women 1.Kober 2.Kriener 3.Tudegesheva I have just watched the World Cup on Eurosport live. Course very rutted with flat light and low cloud. Mens final-no Americans but there was two Canadians. JJA looked tired and a little slow, but what does he have to prove and he was in the last 16. Matt Morrison looking good but always seems a little nervous and makes mistakes, which he did. Karl whooped by his boss Grabner, go Bomber bindings. If you get to watch this competition, watch the semi between, Kober and Tudegesheva, wow, amazing racing. There were some great slo-mo shots of Siegfield and his Bomber Bindings at the finish line. Last point of interest. If anyone was wondering about Sense boards, don't. Their rider Jernaj Demsar was rocking, 4th position on a board which was sky blue and a breath of fresh air. Next race I'm rooting for Demsar, sorry Mr SG.
  21. At my local hill when there is snow there are lots of people who do this. What kind of dog is it? Do you know its history? How old is it? If you are starting with a blank canvas (unknown behaviour) have some practice sessions. Leave the dog in the car for a little while and increase it gradually, always with something good at the end of the car holiday. Do not leave it to long as if its a worrier your car will look like a tiger has been having fun with the upholstery. On your ski trip get up early and beast the dog so he/she is wrecked and will want to sleep the day away. Unless it is silly cold do not worry overtly about the temperature as dogs are outdoor beasts. Its hard, especially when you get attatched to your mutt to leave them, but always remember its a dog not a kid, and dogs like to sleep. Mine likes snow and sleep
  22. Ride 3 hours then walk 1 hour in the snow with the dog as the dog will absolutely love it then ride the rest of the day. Your pooch will look forward to it, as I have never owned a dog yet who dislikes snow. Or
  23. And this is why I enjoy Bomber and hard booters. Its probably an age thing too.
  24. Check out the fis snowboard site as they get race final vids up there. If you like to party get yourself to Austria, I worked a winter in Mayerhofen and they have some crazy ftup sh&t drinking games. One of the most craziest stag do's I have ever seen was near Kaprun where the stag was encased in a barrel (filled with alcohol) and dragged around on a go-cart getting more drinks poured in/around him. The guy looked in need of er. Gerald do you know of this tradition.
