  1. I was lucky enough to watch it live on Eurosport. It was a fantastic race, some of the runs being won by 1 hundredth of a second. The red gates were clearly quicker than the blue. I wish I had been there as it was clear that atmosphere was electric, especially when Prommegger won. If anyone is thinking modern race boards have no pop, they should watch this race as there was a lot of airtime between the gates.
  2. I would rather have an injury than be seen on snowblades.
  3. That's another good use for a box, family trips. After one hour into a four hour journey and you have just heard "are we nearly there yet?" for the 7 trillionth time, put the kids in. Make sure its not air tight and its padded enough so you can't hear em banging around.
  4. Is this guy riding ok? Same race but nowhere near apex/gate, must of dnf'ed.:)
  5. Thunderbird red any year, or for really special occasions Clandew or Buckfast.
  6. Is it me or do the new Austrian team colours remind anyone of Burton Safari's?
  7. Yes the piste was narrow and the snow totally useless, but it was fun anyway. Ps keep it quiet about the board bitch slapping me into the fence:o
  8. Give it to a 5'10" skinnyish Sassenach who will kick 7 types of sh%!e out of it. I have given it a little slap last season but give me a chance this winter and it will be crying for mercy at the end of the day.
  9. Who weighs under 8 stone in Scotland apart from small children with a bridie pacifier?
  10. Spikes and weapons are all very well, but that does not stop kids and people who hire skis. I think I have come up with a solution.
  11. Check this one out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dI5ewOmHPQ It is open to interpritation on the maths/physics/body position/impact force/etc side of things, but I know from experience only very, very lucky people walk away from high speed/dead stop impacts. Drive safe.
  12. Hi Martin, hope you are well. You have a mighty fine quiver. Bit of a change from the beloved PJ's. I am bringing my 7 out of retirement this year, should be a hoot. How do you find the smaller SG, I love my 163.
  13. If you can afford a chopper you might as well buy one of these bad boys http://www.pistenbully.com/en/products/pistenbully-600/w-polar.html
  14. 1/ Start racing, become pro and get free boards, then as soon as there is a tiny scratch wail for a new one. 2/ Hike, its free and you get fit at the same time. 3/ Buy a helicopter. 4/ Dress and smell like a hobo, you will have plenty of personal space. ( Not trying to be derogatory, some of my best friends are nice smelling tramps) 5/ Try not to worry as it really does not do that much damage and think about where you are. You are in the mountains and snowboarding, and when you are snowboarding there should be no room in the mind for ill-tempered thoughts. 6/ Punch the ignorant knob jockey in the goggles. Just a few ideas:)
  15. FFS step-ins and crabwise flex does not work. Its just a recognised thing. Why did Bomber introduce fore and aft flex in sidewiders? If you are too massive to clip in buy a boy:eplus2:
  16. Congratulations Bomber & Donek & Trappy. The new formation looks very good. All Mr Trapp now needs is some snowboard specific boots made by Bomber, not ski boots;). Just think if a bbp for soft boots creates a stir, wtf would a Bomber Hard Boot do. I have started thinking now for the name competition to win a pair of 27.5's Bomber VLVGH.3 boots.
  17. I will be purchasing one. Two things come to mind when I think of a Carving Mag....... 1/ I love my Kindle, but every now and then I like to read and touch a live book. 2/ When I was a nipper I was massively into rock climbing which introduced me to the mountains. One of my favorite reads (or more accurately looks) was a French magazine called Vertical. I could not read French but that did not stop me from looking and dreaming, engrossed in the magazine with awe inspired eyes. A couple of years later a friend and I hitch hiked to the Verdon Gorge (France) where we had the best time ever, climbing routes far beyond our capabilites. Even meeting ledgends like Lynn Hill. Even if your Mag was written in Greek, I would be buying one as a picture speaks a thousand fine lines. A coffee table must for Alpine riders. Good Luck
  18. It would not need to be porous as it would not need wax. Isn't the application of wax a means of shedding water (melted snow from friction) from the base. If the base already has this property-no wax needed. I wonder if the scientists have tried different structures for differing viscosities of liquids or the new material repels everthing at a uniform rate?

    "on Edge"

Thanks. Most Alpine riders I know are techy geeks and would love to see set ups. Out of interest (as I use Full Tilts) why are some of your riders using Full Tilts and Dalbellos. Is it for extra stiffness and do they have a lot of modificatons on the boots. Thanks for taking time out and informing us.

    "on Edge"

Good stuff. How about some footage of rider set ups, boards boots etc.
  21. I don't get why you would want to cover your face. You should be converting the masses of soft boot riders with your massive S&£t eating grin or expression of smugness and superiority.
  22. Which Stig? The loose lipped one or the German one? On a more serious note do the goggles not steam up?
  23. Which one did you get out of interest. The pricing is interesting, €560 for full titanal/carbon on the Supreme carve. It would be good to pitch one against a more popular Euro race brand.
