  1. you want this info on this thread Quentin? Or we emailing you or PM'ing you this? hi btw G-unit! can't wait to ride with you again buddy! miss ya! First grilled cheese and IPA pitcher is on me :)
  2. This is amazing news!!! I can't wait to get a chance to meet you Bruce, the AM-T you built for me is nothing short of amazing!
  3. you don't have to demo anything Randy, just put in an order and get it over with :) The whole Reno/Tahoe crew can't be wrong!
  4. ohh nice, i LOVE IPA's haha, and i just ran out of 2 below :( which made me very sad yesterday. Oh well, 3 days of work till a 5 day riding weekend and it snowed a few feet this weekend so very excited!
  5. yum yum buckbean! Its tasty beer! Went to Octoberfest at the brewery with Randy and got to sample several beers, was very good stuff - can't wait to drink some more of it :)
  6. Allee - Don't loose hope! If the 325's fit you can do the Buell trick and cut out upper material and get a good top 2 buckle fit. i can mail you pics of what Buell is talking about. The modifications Buell did on his Track 700T mondo 25s that I bought allow me to tighten down the top buckles. He did cut out some material but it does work! My issue is that the 325's in mondo 26 are too loose, but the track 700T's in mondo 25 are too tight in the toe box :) Im right in between sizing...go figure heh.
  7. Allee - I hate to bear bad news but you are still going to have problems :( I have the same issue, track 325T, moved the strap over as much as possible, cut out material for tongue overlap, tognar tongue foam, and booster strap...still too big, and still too much movement at the top :( I also downsized to a smaller mondo for a 700T to see if that would help, but they are still too big around the calf area and unfortunately REALLY tight in the toe box. ....damn these calves...I need implants or something
  8. Furi cat checking in!!! Well looks like the season officially started for me! I'm not giving up the singlespeed yet, but put away the big bike along with the pads so I can have a good solid season. Can't believe the snow is here already!! So happy! And looking forward to progressing this year and ripping up some turns! Count me 100% confirmed for OES, Allen and I will be leaving Bay Area on Tuesday, riding day zero till sunday, and then leaving monday morning! It's all booked and set! Can't wait to see you guys this year!!!
  9. Im pretty new face around Tahoe carvers since last season was my first but would be cool to join you guys for a beer! Right now in florida on biz trip but booked on redeye back to bay area on friday so just might make it!
  10. well transporting the helmet from house to mountain it usually gets stuffed into my gear or boot bag. Once I'm at the mountain I suit up at the car. I don't usually rent a locker and boot up at the lodge. So the helmet and boots get put on in the parking lot.
  11. haha perfect quote lol Nice work Chubz, sorta funny they were in too much shellshock to even chase you down. I wonder if they would have asked "how do you do that?!!!" or told you to slow down or stop destroying the run?
  12. Yah so I've removed the youtube vid. My intent was to poke fun at the idea of recommending high-end boards to a newbie for them to enjoy or learn the sport. I guess I haven't been around bomber long enough to realize it would raise such a heated conversion spanning across two posts. Don is an excellent rider and that video was indeed a few turns to demo what some of us should be working on. It was not a "free-ride" or "let's show off for the camera" video and not indicative of Don's everyday riding ability or style. Again I apologize to Don for inadvertently making him a conversion point on a thread he didn't even post on.
  13. Photodad - it's this URL: http://www.startingate.net/
  14. Bob - true, but from looking at it in the store you are limited to a max of 30 degrees of binding angle. I know for most people that doesn't matter, so probably not much of an issue. Its got the nifty feature of tool-less adjustments for stance/angles and the guy in the store said you can even adjust your bindings while still strapped in. I haven't ridden it personally so can't comment on the durability or ease of use. Time will tell how well its received by the public. The really bad thing is that you are getting forced into the burton bindings no matter what (not sure if burton licensed E.S.T to other companies or not), but at least you get 2 year warranty with board + binding now which is reassuring for a new system.
  15. +1 to Wally suggestions. The tankers would be a good idea. The flex is nice and mellow but it can still hold an edge and is a fun board to ride. Tanker also handle plates well and its a good overall board that is a blast to ride. The boards ending in "7" (167, 177, 187) are the wide model boards with the larger waist width usually in the 27 range. The 192 Wally was talking about was sort-of special for Rad-Air - it was a narrow 24 waist width board. Sadly they no longer make that waist width or the 192 size.
  16. heh if burton has their way the new EST slider will be the standard replacement for 4x4
  17. yup same with mine...and thats with using the suspension kit to mount the rings
  18. hehe agreed that was really well written lol :p
  19. lol that one is good, i didn't even catch that one yet :)
  20. http://mail.google.com/mail/help/customtime/index.html How does it work? Gmail utilizes an e-flux capacitor to resolve issues of causality (see Grandfather Paradox). How come I only get ten? Our researchers have concluded that allowing each person more than ten pre-dated emails per year would cause people to lose faith in the accuracy of time, thus rendering the feature useless. Their findings: N = Total emails sent P = Probability that user believes the time stamp φ = The Golden Ratio L = Average life expectancy
  21. another +1 on Bob's recommendation of a 4x4 or the Coiler AM. If its in your price point I would certainly recommend a metal version of either board. The Coiler AM-T would dampen out hardpack and ice and keep a solid edge. Never ridden a metal 4x4, but the glass version is extremely fun and a very easy board to turn and maneuver.
  22. yah burton boards are terrible...I mean check this guy out on a burton he clearly can't rail on such an old outdated board: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3tFeja_cMY&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3tFeja_cMY&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
  23. great video! thanks for sharing! Your snow looks great, what mountain did you record the video at?
  24. Furi

    Oes 2008!

me too.....let's all scheme up something together then make Quentin run it so we can slack off and ride everyday :D
  25. yah pretty much whimper away... As the snow gets softer and turns into slush earlier I start to lose interest. Right now I'm still riding fairly good snow until 11:00am ish before it starts to degrade. I'll just stop going because riding for 2 hours in the morning is pretty much a waste of a trip. I usually end up going for trip because buddies call me and offer to drive up, but by then i'm on softies again.
