    I'm Out!

I gotta ask James, are you goin back to strap bindings on the splitboard?
  2. what is this 'ice' thing you speak of?
  3. I retain my snowboard brakes with magic
  4. ""Not a bad day, but just too soft for good carving."" That's why I took the Eldo, went to the top for wind packed braille powder on A-chute, back up the triple and over to upper headwall, good stuff, quad to the colburn side, down debbie sue was tits. Got 3 runs of sweet untracked low angle cream cheese cruizing thru the new glades (more like clearcuts, the greedy phuqers), which was mostly effortless with a little speed the groomers were vaiable at best, from hard to see ridgey soft to icy at the bottom.
  5. you'll never get to 10,000 hrs second nature riding at 10 days a season I'd rather rip on the good days rather than just cruise, that takes practice; I love the satisfaction I get from conquering a heinous sastrugi bump run under the lift and making it look smooth through Herculean efforts. However being from the NW I say phuq ice The 1st decade of my skibum career was 100 day seasons, lots of crappy days in there. These days either side of 50 makes me satisfied; that said this year I'm on track for maybe 30, but those are pick and choose days, so in my old age I'm going more for quality
  6. may go up for swallow tail testing today, not sure about tomorrow; thu. fri. look to be carvalicious only 4 weeks to get in shape for mcc, and I only 5 half days in so far, 1/3 my average year
  7. lmk when you go up, planning on gaper free monday ps today was pretty good for a pineapple
  8. Got a late start after blowin snow, got to the round about about 10 and rounded the round about right back down and across the valley home to avoid the ridiculous time sucking holiday shit show shuttle from the fire station shoulda took a clue from the downhill traffic and turned around sooner; constant flow up while driving back down. up early tomorrow for happy hangover turns ahead of the crowd
  9. 2-3 inches of good snow mixed in the groom made for very fun carving in the sun yesterday, should be great this morning too if a bit chilly -2*f windchill, and cedarpark chair opens
  10. I've got SBH ,SBS, and TR9 but they're all size 27s
  11. How'd they work out as a boot for both? I'd take em off your hands for the split if I was working.
  12. I have the 2 pair I bought from him, did not work for the frankenbinding I wanted to make so I'd be happy to sell'em to a neighbor cheap. 2 pair, 1 new, 1 with plastic heelguide broken, bail and speedhook toe, 1pair new boot heels, single used backup. 120 bucks for the lot. I'll try to send a pic to your phone
  13. soft groomers were fun today ,where you could see it, wax mattered, the voile 170 vtail split did surprisingly well being pushed by the scarpa ATs; dug in the nose once but the tail held a carve pretty well in the variable fresh on icy slush
  14. that's what I thought at 1st glance, that board belongs in oregon
  15. 1st turns of the year, got my rock board dialed, stuck to bunny hill for the vis, softened up into some fun turns by the time I was leaving using brown spots like gates
  16. makes me wonder which tank jesus prefers to drive
  17. You need MCC, there's ways down from the top that are easy blue all the way and a midway unload below the steeps; You'll progress more in 4 days than you have riding alone the last couple seasons. DO IT Your nemesis runs at Crystal will be easier when you get back
  18. I'm the opposite, back foot usually in walk mode unless hard carving with raichle/deelux; hundreds of days over the decades in serveral SB versions. Hyper-exdended my ankle once getting to agressive in the fall line off-piste, but no boot breakage, i'm 200# With stiffer AT boots often ride with both unlocked
  19. I didn't bother with the WROD, looks like getting there was the dangerous part. pretty much my sentiments too Art
  20. you could just keep your hands out of the snow;-/
  21. lazy mans board ballet L.L.Bean Kildy plated board for extra alpine steeze https://live.staticflickr.com/video/4430751140/a90af4c4ab/700.mp4?s=eyJpIjo0NDMwNzUxMTQwLCJlIjoxNjA1MzgwODMyLCJzIjoiYWE2OWRmZDgwMzE3ODNjMjlhZTdhYmUwODUyNzI1N2RiY2Y5NjIwMyIsInYiOjF9

  23. I can ride a board or skis w/out poles but I miss them, when I come to a stop on the slope or navigating lift lines. I do feel I need them on a mono or skwal, or in the bumps with an alpine board where the extra upper body stability they provide are beneficial. Did a lot of bump skiing in the 80s, when my snowboard was a toy made of bent plywood and rubber straps skiing steeps was more fun, so pole use is 2nd nature to me.
  24. thanks Dave, been a busy summer so I missed that one, makes me picture big open bottomless bowls of fluffy happiness Turner Shredder ftw
  25. @franknshredder, love the poetic review but it was all gravy and no spuds, left me wanting more substance, tell us more I rocked sky lords back in the day, worthy soft stepin, but I opted for the Raichle 124 and haven't looked back. @BLOODTYPEZX10R when we gonna see a CC8Warp? that'd rip on the face of turner
