  1. been riding with Pow and espi picking up tips since i startedhardbooting, and im ussually in the back, mostly because espi is a rocket, and i dont want to screw up Pows huge arcs, but its great for your own technique to ride behind more experienced riders, and discuss on the way back up.
  2. epic jake sure knows how to organize a styling display of protest

  4. yeah, here in the foothills, we love our winter driving. My CR-V has more dents in it from pulling stupid tricks in the snow than anything, cant kill the damn thing:biggthump
  5. as an alpine boarder, who happens to enjoy some mountain styles from the burton catalog. I witness skiers on a regular basis who dress in a very similar way. in fact last time I was at the mountain, I saw several skiers decked out in burton gear, it confused me a great deal.
  6. waity til dave espi gets ahold of this thread, his paintjob is wicked btw very cool helmet, ive seen that somewhere, childrens book?
  7. hey, you dont have to get slop with soffties, look at espi, hes got it down pat

  9. like POW said, honey mustard mini pretzels, those things are like crack. i ussually wrap up a sandwich in that seal wrap stuff, arizona green tea, caribou coffee granola bars, energy drinks, lots of coffee, etc.
  10. serrated edges: the new asym? sounds kind of wierd to me, do you mean, like steak knife serrated? imagine the damage you would do in lift lines.
  11. few years back I was riding my soft boot setup, I was going like mach schnell, when for some unexplained reason my tail pulled out from behind me and my snowboard was horizontal to the slope (i think it was the snomes) at which point i swiftly caught my front edge and landed smack on my face. not to worry my head took the impact. I cracked my goggles down the center, and couldnt see straight,as the front of my helmet had impacted with my head. I somehow made it back to the lift and went back up for another run.
  12. ive got a bomb hills with randal RII 180's, its ridiculously stable, ive ridden a couple bamboo series boards, the flex is nice, but the W concave is irritating at best, i like pow's arbor blunt for cruising, but at downhill speeds, its shaky if your not used to it, and very scary for an inexperienced rider. as for the S9 nose rider, great dancing board, cant go wrong. S9 has alot of exposure in california, where the longboarding scene is really big, because they spend alot of time in the community, with their riders, pushing their products and so forth. that success carries over here, only its less personal because they are so far away
  13. sorry, pulled an ADD moment reading the initial post, cant help ya, i love laces
  14. you want a real screamer go with a sector nine, something longer out of the platinum series ought to treat ya well, ive got a bombhills myself, not all that great for tight turns, but uber stable at high speeds:biggthump
  15. i rock a pair of old axis laces ups (no cables or fancy pully systems here) and the laces allow for great forgiving support. look into some lace up models, i love mine
  16. I ride a Burton FP 160 (one can only hope to become rich and buy that coiler) and Ive noticed that on heel side carves, my back foot washes out and scrapes on a rugular basis, this could be technique. However, while going over my last session in my head, I realized, alot of the problem has to do with the fact that the widest part of the front of my board really bites the snow, while the widest part of the back does not as much. I was thinking that it may be practical to move my stance all the way back to put more pressure on the tail, and allow the nose to do its job without my help. This sound kosher to all you vets?
  17. ive been a jets fan for awhile. not that im all that into football,(soccers more my thing, GO MAN U) but i think theyd be better off with namath back in there, hell he cant do any worse than pennington was. back on topic. me Dave, and a skier buddy of his were in queue for the lift, when this guy, who looked like he had never seen a mountain in his life steps into line next to us, (it was a high speed six seat chair) dave gives the signal to hang back, let some of the singles ride with this guy, but kris (afore mentioned skier) ends up next to him. me and dave were ready to get on the chair behind him, when the lift stops. the guy had his back foot strapped in and leashed, full mongo style. though he still tried to sit with his right hip first. he wasnt even half on the chair. there was a three minute wait, during which dave asked if he had ever been on a lift before. the guy assured us all he would be fine, he righted himself in the seat. just before unloading at the top, dave says, "five dollars he doesnt make it", sure enough he made it, and no one recieved 5 dollars.
  18. I dig my NOS doesnt seem dead, except when compared to pow's pogo overdose. saved a ton of green too

  22. naaa, it was his, i was really confused by it, youd think hed know, or maybe he was like uber rich, and can afford to drop like 500 on a new board when he decides the sports ounds easy and fun
