  1. I'll be up there tomorrow with an ex-racing friend, where do you set the gates? Are they open to the public?
  2. Another carver & I will be up there together, along with a softboot friend. anyone else?
  3. Thanks for the help. Gecko, you mention changing the heel- I'm guessing that is the one that I'd call the instep or ankle strap. Any chance the change you'll be making is to somethign that would fix that problem with the buckle undoing when I flex my boots forwards? It's really starting to annoy me when my buckles pop mid-run. Locked in position 3 (of 5) the boots are flexing a bit & I'm not able to edge as hard to toeside as I'd like to.. maybe I just need to switch to something stiffer than my current sb124s.
  4. Thanks Tony, I'd written some of those off figuring DOD contractors wouldn't want kids running around, guess they've got areas to put us to work without security clearances etc. Mud, nothing for them right around here- does look neat though. Thanks.
  5. For switching a 3 buckle + velcro strap setup to 4 buckle, it seems that 2 straps, and 2 buckles are required (duh, right?) but also, there is some hardware.. it looks like 2 T nuts(?) are required, as well as 2 rivets. I'm guessing I can find the rivets in a hardware shop locally, but where might I find the hex head screw type bits and their backing for the strap side? Thanks
  6. I've been digging around looking for possible internship options for the last few days & have had a lot of difficulty finding something interesting (eg: not plumbing/fire sprinkler design - no offence if you work in that field) I'm studying Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.. South-east CT or RI would be ideal. Pratt & whitney and liquid piston are a bit far to the west in CT for a daily commute. (East Hartford & Broomfield) Anyone have some suggestions?
  7. VOTING POLL IS UP http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/forum/general-longboarding/57085-all-season-shredder-contestant-voting-thread.html
  8. Thanks guys.. gotta figure out how to get TO some of those trails, but It'll work out. I've got 2 friends going with me at the moment I think.. one will be renting a softboot board, the other rides hardboots.. good news is, shes a hardbooter, rides a coiler, and knows bruce. (gotta see if she can help me snag a blem) . bad news is, shes ex-racer and I'm not up for blacks!
  9. Any suggested greens to start the day on at okemo? nice consistent gradient & wide? As above, I've got Sapphire, Upper Tomahawk, Exhibition and upper/lower Arrow for blues.
  10. ike/fatbastard/isaac and I would both like to know, also! I guess they'll get it up eventually.
  11. I'm in also! Tomorrow the voting will be up, help out your fellow carvers!
  12. No blacks for me, thanks:biggthump Attitash's blues were plenty for me, and I had plenty of speed on the greens. I ride a F2 speedcross, don't need too much speed to crank into the turns. Thanks for the comments
  13. It looks like I may be doing okemo on the 20th with a skiier friend, maybe i'll get up to loon or some of the other places later in the season.
  14. True enough. I guess I'll pick by schedule, just didn't know if any of these mountains had a particular rep like wildcat:exracers or bretton woods: family etc
  15. I have day trips through the local ski shop available to okemo, mt snow, killington, loon, sunapee, and waterville valley. All cost about the same ($67 +/- $2). All include the bus trip. I've mainly been riding the local hill, but I got up to attitash back a week or so- the mild blues were okay there, and the greens were good for me, though it took some getting used to the layer of powder at the begining of the day. Simple version: where should I go for nice consistent wide-ish groomers, preferably without toooo many little kids falling in front of me?
  16. Haha, just sent you an email regarding that, actually, without having read this:biggthump
  17. I pressed Gecko's board, and many others using a vaccum bag, can't reccomend it enough.
  18. Riding with friends is fun, sometimes gecko and I get out. I'm also looking forward to riding with some skiiers after christmas, I'm thinking they might know how to turn unlike most of my boarding friends!
  19. Cutoff dates are feb 3rd/8th, correct?
  20. I'm not as good as most on here at all.. but from my experiences, I've found that shifting weight backwards more than you'd expect to be OK really helps to stick the carve and power around through the second half.
  21. Some of S9s boards do nothing at all for me, others aren't bad. I used to have a trylam, nice enough board- could use a little more nose width & concave. The bomb hills is also a very nice board. Cosmic II and similar just feel awful underfoot to me. The bamboo boards are nice enough, but some have an awkward W concave that bothers me especially while pushing/ braking. The completes are even improving, with the new chargers. They also even have a few solidly *good* wheels now (especially GOS)
  22. I can get past the price, aforementioned specialized helmet was comprable... in that case, I paid the extra because it in particular fit my head, and it is extremely well ventilated. Hows the memory foam seem to do for comfort, and does the helmet become too hot?
  23. I'm pretty sure thats backwards.. if you request to be friends with someone, they are able to see your profile, however, you cannot see theirs until they have accepted. oh yea, and I'll go join that group.
