  1. anyone happen to know the price for a season pass, if you buy it early? i know some places discount them till the fall.. thanks:biggthump
  2. i'm in a similar situation..i picked up snowboarding quickly due to having longboarded (skated) for a few years. on the rental gear, i kept on dragging my toes while carving. i tried running 25 degrees front, 15 degrees rear, and it helped. i'd start with something mild like this for your first time with angles. I wound up diving into it, bought a F2 SpeedCross, just bought some boots off the classifieds here, for a great price, and now i just need to find some bindings.. short version: try 25/15 (or more) on your twintip & softboots to see how you like it.
  3. kaoru, you get my last email? I'll take those Raichles... need your paypal address, and was hoping you'd get a quote on actual shipping to 02891... Thanks. [edit] email came slow. disregard. payment sent
  4. pics of 124s to xxguitarist@yahoo.com ? also, how bad is "needs to be replaced":D
  5. i'm a film guy, my current main camera is a nikon FM2n, but i also have a canon TLb and a (now dead, yet have two lenses for) pentax ME super looking forward to spring to play with macro settings on the new camera
  6. wait, you didnt want zig-zag cord?
  7. any chance you'll still have a set or two to get rid of (for me to buy) come summer/fall? i've got a board on order.. dont yet have the cash for boots & bindings, but will be needing some in that size range. (sorry for the threadjack) email is xxguitarist@yahoo.com to keep from completely taking over his thread.
  8. i worked on it :-D i see why you were trying to adjust my binding now, halfway through the night i was trying to get more heelside edge but couldnt because my boots were set too upright. i enjoyed running angles though!
  9. see you there then. dont forget, upstairs in the lodge..sign the sheet & then tell the people at the ticket window for the deal.
  10. gecko, going to be there this week?
  11. pure evil, and i love it.how about a 3M foam tape strip, then some lexan with track spikes threaded into it across the back portion? more easily available, i bet.
  12. no worries about the music, and thanks for the compliments. quite jealous of your setup can't wait to have something carving-oriented myself... btw, next thurs is the last night for the deal. [edit] oh, and i worked on that whole facing somewhat forwards deal.. it wasnt working that well for me with the standard binding angles... but thanks for the tips!
  13. gecko, if you are going thursday night & dont have a season pass to yawgoo... hit me up with an email at xxguitarist@yahoo.com ...i've got a little $ saving tip.
  14. i tried to post yesterday, and again my post didnt show up.. it may very well appear later today or something? can anyone tell me why that seems to be happening to my posts? anyway, i was trying to say i'd keep an eye out for you-- i'll be in a grey/dark grey spyder jacket, black pants, probably a blue north face hat... and attempting to carve my way down their trails.
  15. good enough. i'll be there in a grey/dark grey spyder, black pants, blue northface hat, and their standard issue boards :( hopefuly next year i'll be riding something a bit better at edging up.. i was getting enough angle to drag my toes though. sorry to hijack the thread a little, how do you think a donek wide would work? or do you have any other suggestions for a lot of riding at yawgoo & some at say mt snow and similar? thanks, and i'll look for you this week.
  16. well, i tried to post back a bit, it never appeared though :-/ anyway. i'm also in westerly, and go to yawgoo on thursday nights. i longboard skate, so i have a preference for carving vs skidding, but for now i'm stuck on their rental boards, and have been trying to rail them up & achieve some sort of carving. do you find their trails are wide enough for true carving?
  17. westerly? yawgoo? thursday nights? ditto, ditto, ditto. unfortunately i'm still stuck riding around on their rental boards, just railing them up as much as i can to try and get more carve than skid out of it. do you find that the trails there are actually wide enough for a true carving board?
