  1. Ill post them when I have it.

  3. Thanks for the heads up but there are no interlocking rings on the actual graphic. The "88" is syled after a specific ( but not trade marked) 88 from back in the day. I guess it just looks kind of like the rings. I have the actual graphic floating it's way across the internets as we speak to address the specific issues of will they or won't they as this was something that had been considered very early. I hammered out this sketch in as long as it would take you to read this post, but the final image looks much better. Is it snowing yet? What about now?
  4. This is the start of my topsheet graphics, I will post completed pics when the board arrives. And NO I am not having an asym built.......
  5. Before I answer, do I count the cost to fly to europe to board in the gear column or the ride column?
  6. Out of curiosity I e-mailed Shoei to see what they suggested since I figured they would have this question posed to them on a regular basis. Here is their answer, I **** you not: "I'm not sure about environmentally friendly, but we destroy the helmets and throw them away. If a consumer is going to do it themselves, we suggest that you cut the chin straps off and pour a small amount of gas on the inside of the helmet to destroy the EPS liner to make sure the helmet is never used again. " Anyone got a smoke I can bum, I have some helmets to dispose of.............
  7. I heard he is developing some space-age roofing materials, but I don't know about the boards.
  8. Sorry I am late with the reply, had to go to work for a few days. We had a great time in Chicago, went to the sears tower (awesome at sunset but there is a stupid movie you have to watch so budget some time if you are trying to hit sunset) and some good pizza. We tried a couple and liked Lou Malnati's best. The concierge suggested the lounge at the John Hancock building instead of the Sears tower (make sure you go to the lounge and then the lift is free os something like that), he felt the view was better. Maybe nextime for me on that one as we only had a bit of time. We went to the Sears tower because I felt obliged as an ironworker to go to the crown jewel for our trade. If you care, there is a Bath and Body Works in the train station. It seems women everywhere love that crap so it might be good for gifts or something. Maybe you like it, I'm not going to judge, but I don't like it. Nope, not me. I hope you don't have to park down town, it is like $30+ per day but there are lots everywhere. The fountain is under repair, The Art Institute is under construction and you can spend all the money you want on the miracle mile so have fun.
  9. I'm going Thursday and Friday, I'll give you a heads up on anything I find worth mentioning. Like the Art Institute is free 5-8 on thursdays.
  10. I am going to the shop that did my Indy liners, do it once and do it right I say. Thanks for the info to all, keep the suggestions coming as it will be a couple of weeks before I go to get them done.
  11. My connection sucks so bad it won't even complete the scan. AND I don't live anywhere even remotely close to a good hill. Go figure.

    Forsa?

Could I put one of these on my GFs Forrester? Would she notice? The car is only a couple of months old and I am SURE she hasn't opened the hood yet..........
  13. I am getting ready to heat my new set of liners and have read the suggestions about using an insert over your toes to gain some room while you set them. What kind of objects have people used to accomplish this?
  14. When I started roadracing motorcycles I read a book by Keith Code that suggested walking in a field and suddenly going limp and falling to the ground. The idea is that if you are going to crash you will tend to tense up and possibly injure your self more than if you are relaxed. I have to admit it has helped me on the (ahem) few times I have managed not to defy the laws of physics. If you can condition yourself to relax on command, as suggested in the other fine posts here, you will probably do fine.
  15. I started on a Nitro GTX log and decided that I would bite it and buy a Coiler for several reasons: -Bruce is far too close for me to ignore. -I spoke with Bruce extensively about what, how and where I ride to come up with what he would build for me. He knows so much more than I and at this early point in the game I value his (or any other more experienced riders) views enought to follow his lead. I absolutely love the board he built me last year as it did exactly what he said it would and I have to impress upon you the importance of being on the right equipment to advance your skill set. -If you have some time on a carving board you will already have things you like or don't and it is important to tell this to your builder. This will help you get on the right type of board. -If you have a cute sister, sell her to fund the many boards you will want to buy when you start to be able to recognize the strengths of different setups. I am going to SES 09 to try a bunch of different setups and to get my GF to try carving. If you can afford it, do it. But what do I know? P.S. you probably won't get a Coiler new this year, but hey, there's always next season so get your order in early!
  16. I have only had one misload so far on my TD2s and it was easy enough to remedy. Of course it happened as I was unloading from the lift after extoling the virtues of the step in binding. Someones way of telling me not to get cocky I surmise......
  17. Last year I had Bruce build me a board and the first thing I did was put about twenty coats of car wax on the thing. When I was in Zermatt this spring I had this crusty old dude ride over the back and almost fall on his ass when he went over the tail. There is a small mark on the board but I am quite confident that the wax helped minimize the damage. It also helps at the end of the day when I wipe my board down.
  18. If the Canadian dollar keeps tanking, you would be crazy not to go north of the 49th. My fav is Fernie, BC but going to Banff will get you spitting distance to Lake Louise, Sunshine and Norquay. Unless, of course, you like huge crowds and heavily tracked snow. Then I would say go to Whistler. While you are there you could get your place in line for the 2010 events, I think the lineup started last week.
  19. My girlfriend and I will be attending, I'm hoping to get her out of soft boots and into some serious carving. I spoiled her last year taking her to Switzerland and now this, but I guess that's the price I pay for having fun.
  20. I went to Europe in February and my brother flew from Edmonton, Alberta to meet us in Toronto. I had booked the tickets the previous September and he was allowed two checked and a carry on. When we returned to Toronto and were checking him in for his connecting flight home, Air Canada tried to charge us an extra $50 for skis/snow board. They tried to tell me that it was clearly stated when the tickets were purchased (it had only come in to effect on Feb. 1 while we were away). I asked to talk to a manager and explained that this was not the case and nothing had been said to my brother on his initial flight. The manager said out of "good will" they would waive the charge this time, but be aware of it in the future. I will gladly pay more to never fly Air Canada again. I hope that this time they go bankrupt the government doesn't step in and save them.
  21. I managed to spend a few days on the slopes last winter, most importantly I did it without breaking anything ( me included). I lucked out and was assigned to 4 on/4 off work shifts so I spent about fifteen days on the ice at Blue Mountain, I don't know who named it that but boy were they mistaken. It was my second season on a carver after waaaay to long on nothing. I started the season on my well used Nitro GTX and waited for the snow to fall before I took out my shiny new Coiler. I also managed to get back to Switzerland for ten days of fresh snow and no lift lines, Zermatt is so cool! I took my brother and a couple of friends with me this time and had a blast, but I now hate granola and toast and the Euro version of chocolate Frosted Flakes as I had to eat them every day. I hope to get out more this winter if work allows and can't wait as this year it will be a trip west to SES. Is it snowing yet?
