    TD2 Question

Unfortunately standard springs of TD2 are still too sloppy :(
  2. Sorry bout that, it looks that MovieMaker is only for XP I dont use it anymore cause i switched to Vegas, but if you have short time need then most of packages work free for 30 days even the more pricey ones :) but be aware that if you use real good (and expencive) one, then when you have constant need, you are in troble But note also that if you film with dv-cam you need firewire card to transfer film to pc and most card come with quite good free of charge older version of video editing sw.
  3. For beginner Window users Windows MovieMaker is easy and free solution to create easy films for internet. Quality depends only from bitrate selected. You can also select size of file you want to create and sw selects bitrate for that. I prefer using wmf for net distribution due it is easy for users and quality is good, all our films in flegmatic side are on wmf format.
  4. Costs and lack of races made us to start our own race-series plus me personally i dont like dual-GS, it requires dual timing, is too time consuming and it is not even as fun as real (carving)GS Paying lisence fees just for few races did not sound good and races were also too far away, so now we organize our races where we like and cost is only 10 euros per race for racer.:D We have had like 30 person on race which is not bad for small country
  5. Please note this story here is not for serius racing, rather something between it and NASTAR racing  Some background Finland is small country with long distances and relative small resorts. Arranging races has allways been PIA for resorts due slope needs to be reserved for relative small ammount people and for organicers there is plenty of work with small compensation. Solution Few years ago, when Ojankaivajat was founded, we started plan race concept which would allow us to have fun races without too much hassle for us and anyone who wanted race. Idea was to have concept which allows riders have several runs, but still make sure that whole race does not require too much time or special equipments. Race concept Single GS-type track, with short poles and triangle flags, is build as very carvable and for average carver-joe, more technical than speedy so riding is closer normal free carving than pure racing. We allow only riders over 18 years due liability reasons but no other restrictions. And have separate age divisions for over 35 but count also all riders to open division which so covers all riders. Each rider has three runs and final result is time of two best runs. For DSQ, FNF or DNS runs rider will get result as 200 sec :D First run is according seeded order, second one is reverse of first one and third run so that slowest one of two first rounds counted together comes first and fastest as last. Does it work ? Following weekend starts our third season with this concept and we have had blasted time to race and both resorts and organicers are quite happy. So if you are around here, you are welcome to join race

  7. There has been earlier discussions differences between Europe and US(including Canada) riding habits, ie in US long sticks on slopes and short sticks on off-piste compared to central Europe. This helmet thing looks same kind issue, in US most ride with helmet but in Central Europe it is not very common. Here in Finland most carvers, like in US, ride with helmet. Me personally, since i got my first helmet in mid 90's, i've been riding constantly with it and now when i saw my friend hit by skier last season, i ride also with DaKine Full Wave Jacket. It gives lot's of safety and it does not feel at all while carving but it gives also nice protection for elbows etc :D
  8. They are for Jacques, you should see how loose he keeps his setting on standard bails
  9. But most valuable info is not visible print on board should define if it is STIFF or EXTRA STIFF, that pretty much defins how it rides cause they are like two different boards
  10. Try to mount bindings goofy to regular Tinkler But seriously these are awesome bords, more of that later on this season film
  11. Nils, dont worry, if you can not make it there, we will be there to assist these nice young riders with setups :) btw it is so easy for us to go there cause traditional Ojankaivajat Oppdal CarvingCamp is on week 12 and there is only 250km (160miles) from Oppdal to Duved :D btw Merry Xmas for here too

  13. Uku, riding was quite nice concireding soft setup, and soft and pumppy snow :o Are you riding with hardboots also ? Anycase you are more than welcome to join us, distance is not so bad anyway from Estonia. Drop me email if need any additional info of palce or time.

  16. Probably cause F2s are not so common in US, importing issue perhaps ? Here in Europe it is pretty much vice versa, here most buzz among normal carvers are around F2, Oxy, Choc, Virus, Swoard etc, much less talk about Prior, Donek or Madd
  17. Any news yet about schedule ? I need to order some other small parts :D and would like to order set these too in same shipment.
  18. Good idea B, specially cause this http://www.flegmatic-carving.com/gallery/index.php?album=%2FVahur_pics%2Fℑ=calendar_en.jpg is valid just for a month anymore. We all need new one soon.

  20. I'm not suprised of that number of hard booters in Finland. We have 250 registered members in our hard booting forum here, that is not bad for country with 5 milion people. So with these numbers you can count reference number of your contry if you know your population figures :)
  21. If recall right 35-40 with HBX on Swoard, anyway somewhere that area. This depends also very much how supportive your boots are plus size of boot (overhang).
