  1. I would offer to take it for a spin with my hardboots, but I am recovering from surgery for the next couple of weeks.
  2. It is on the stiff side. I have only ridden it with softboots, but it is a beast. It would be fun with hardboots.
  3. Donek Sasquatch 166 (SOLD) 28 waist. 9.65 SCR In great shape, couple really small dings in the top sheet. Could use a tune. The weird white stuff on the top is a sticker from the bottom of the bindings. $150 buyer pays actual shipping.
  4. I put #2, but I am neither 1 or 2, but both. I only ride hardboots on groomers. If there is fresh snow I either softboot or ski. I am a total fair weather carver, if the light is flat? I ski. Busy? ski or softboot..... I just ride, I am not really out to improve much anymore, just have fun. I visit this site for entertainment and too sell stuff. I am not good at putting instruction into words and I am not good at putting words into the hill. So I really don't contribute. That's my perspective.

    Virus BX 168cm.

Cool! What is the waist width?
  6. What about the bindings? As this is a bummer, we need to keep in mind the bindings. Please keep an eye out for what is happening with them. If it looks like they need a home, please speak up. Hopefully Fin will just get back into it, but just in case.....
  7. We have one of those. SUPER fun on local golf course hills. Doesn't need much snow, but more is definitely better.:)

    Tanker 187 08/09

    Tanker 187 08/09

08/09 Tanker 187 Used a bit, but in good shape. Base has storage wax right now. $200 + shipping
  10. Time for this one to entertain a new owner. Ultralight Coiler Monster 188 (X5) 15/16M sidecut No topsheet and a lighter core makes this board about 1lb lighter than a standard 188 monster. I am 200lb and it is perfect. Very fun board. Here is my review. $400 + shipping More pictures to follow.
  11. I get this often. We have had two shitty seasons in a row now and I look back and wonder why I even have my boards. I pretty much skied the "whole" season (it started late and ended early, with rain quite a few days). BUT, three years ago we had a stellar season, I had a blast! So, you have them, if you get rid of them would you ever get another? Keep them just in case.

    200 hazelwood

So, is it back for sale? I would take it off your hands.
  13. No, you are right. My 187 Tanker is a 27 and it's a crud buster. What length is your Hazelwood? Like it? I am thinking about one. My Donek sasquatch is a 166 and a 29, it does not like crud, maybe it's the lack of length, or just board design.
  14. I love it! They truly where horrible bindings. They did not get in your way though. I broke so many baseplates I would carry spares in my car.
  15. I have said this before, but I am a softbooter who rides hardboots sometimes. Softboot angles 23/7, or so. Hardboot angles 53/50, or so. For those thinking of a wider softboot board. I have sz 12 feet and ride a 27 wide freeride board. As the boards get wider, they get to be harder to ride in crud, they get on top of it (sometimes that's ok), instead of blasting through. Thanks for the flashbacks, sometimes I forget how far we have come. By contrast, I rode Sims bindings then Burton freestyles with the really soft Burton freestyle boots. I HATED the Elfgen/Gnu bindings.
  16. Cool article. BUT, don't lump VDS and Titanal, very different animals. Current Titanal construction creates a rather complex constrained layer damping system. With rubber in there as a viscous layer, you could manipulate the damping frequency, but that would probably end up a very dead board.
  17. Try the wide with the bindings mounted with the rear foot in the furthest back set of inserts. Then make up you stance width by moving the front. It will give you more nose, there for, more float. Yes, a dedicated powder board is nice, but not necessary. If you want to try one when you are there, local shops may rent them, there are a ton on the market right now.
  18. Thanks for all the input guys. I have a feeler in to Bruce for an Angrrrry.... We'll see. I would like to check out a Proteus, but it is kind of tricky. All would be good if I would just go to ATC, but if I did, I would just be in the woods hunting for powder anyway. Jim, I may give you a shout in the next couple of days.
  19. I think I would need longer runs for a skwal. I will talk to Bruce, just looking for other ideas.
  20. I hate to use the word bored because these boards are so amazing....
