  1. Hey Oldkey, Thanks for the invite, sorry I missed it, I was shopping......... I read what you posted about the board in another thread, sounds like it would have been WAY to soft for me if your son was able to move it around quite a bit. I might come out and ride with the team in the next few weeks, I am a good friend of one of the coaches. I now of a few locals that have RT's that I will try to hook up with........We'll see how it goes. With the way the season is going (it is raining right now) I should probably hold off until next year and see if I can pick up something new.
  2. He is the fastest riders I have ridden with (not very good in the air though). He really shows it's not the board, it's the rider.
  3. OK. Update. All the good things I said........ I just got off the phone with my friend, the one with a 173. IT IS BROKEN! After 2 years of hard riding he broke it running gates last Thursday....... So there you are. Pretty much goes with the rest. Maybe they are better with softies, not as much stress.
  4. Hello, Can't say much about the 173, BUT, I have a 168, it is AWESOME:1luvu:! I can really crank on it and it holds. NO nose flop, nothing, it is a great board. A friend of mine has the 173 and he loves it (he searches them out). He goes about 195, and is a VERY aggressive rider. He uses it to prove you don't need and alpine deck to do VERY well in a course. Just for info. I ride mine with a soft boot setup, my friend rides his with a hardboot setup. Either one works VERY well on these boards. Hope this helps.
  5. Hi All, I know this question comes up alot, but now it's my turn. I am just looking for YOUR opinions. I am looking for a board that is a little more laid back than my Rossi 168 VAS, it tried to kill me yesterday in some VERY flat light. I weigh about 195, am 6'3" and am a fairly aggressive rider if I need to be. I am looking for a board that is going to be fun, hold on Minnesota snow and still rail quite nicely. So far I have been looking at Madd 170's, is this board going to be to soft for my 195 lbs? I would like to pick it up used since I really can't afford a $600 board at this point in my life (daughter on the way). That is about all I have, I am open to suggestions. Thanks for your time.

My experience with cap vs. sandwich is, the cost. Companies use sandwich construction to get a design finalized or for the race team, it gives them more flexiblity with the design without having to invest in a mold. They can also customize the skis much easier. Once the design is final it goes to cap, or a hybrid. Off the shelf tend to be cap. I have a friend who is a tech rep for Rossi, I could ask him if anyone is REALLY interested....
  10. Hi All, Just thought I would take a few minutes to introduce myself. I have been riding for about 19 yrs (holy crap is that right?), yup just checked it on my calculator.....YIKES! Anyway, I have been hardbooting it for about 5 yrs now, still get the softies out to play around in the park though. I currently ride a Rossi world cup 167, I like it quite a bit. I think that's about it.
