  1. Hey all, First off I know the answer. Of course I do! SO here is the deal. Right now I have two coilers, a monster (the X5) and a VSR XT. Don't get me wrong, these boards are AWESOME! Maybe TO awesome. These boards ride on our terrain like nothing I have ever ridden. When I can see, I can push them really hard and they don't flinch. when the vis is bad I can run them on auto-pilot and they soak up what I can't see with out trying to kill me. The problem is, I think they might be a little dull. I think they might be TOO good. I don't really have the option of mixing up the riding. We either carve or hit the hard snow with soft boots. No powder. So what should I do? I have been looking for a Virus, but they tend to be NARROW. I am not familiar with Sean's new goods. I think I will email Bruce and see what he says...... What else should I look at? JJA? Kessler? Oxxess? Pick up an old glass board? Madd 170? What say you? When things get monotonous, what do you do????? I usually Tele when I get board.

^^This^^ Talk to Bob Dodds. He has a VAST assortment of carving skis..... I has a set of Rossi GS boards (18M) if you want to carve like that going mach 2 (not really). They hook up like nothing I have ever skied, I can't imagine what the short radius slalom skis would be like. They have a plate, so they would be easy to mount up.

What is ATC? I may be out on teles, I will shout from the lift.... Not really feelin the snowboard vibe lately. We'll see.
  6. It is fun Karl, you should give it a shot. Even if it is to just slash the lip.
  7. Oooh, I like this one. I talked with Bruce a few years ago about doing something like this. I may have to send him a note.
  8. I found it! Thanks for the search lingo Pat. It was under "flat", that was why it did not come up when I looked for it initially. I was running 21" stance with 3 degree plates, straight across for now. Ursle: WOW! Good memory! I actually upgraded to TD3's after getting a metal board and stiffer boots. The Burtons made me nervous (I am 200 lbs).
  9. Hey all, Is there anyway to find a thread for the old forum that had cant and lift info in it? I entered in what I was riding and now I don't want to reinvent the wheel with my setup. I didn't get out last year (or the year before for that matter) and forgot.....

    Bohemia

I figured that was a little bit of a stretch. But concidering the crowds I have seen out west, I can see where he is coming from.... Next time I go, I'm bringing a split.

    Bohemia

I talked to a guy at the house about Bohemia, he actually likes it better than out west. Less crowds and the snow is usually better and less tracked. 7 hour drive though......
  12. Bob, good job looking into it. Sounds like a mess either way. ugh. Good luck!
  13. Bob, If you pay the sub, make SURE you get an invoice. My brother has looked at three jobs in the last month where the contractor just walked away after running into an unforscene challenge, all about half done. Crazy times.
  14. I have a 185 and really like it. It holds an edge really well and it just cruises. It is rather light so it spins in the air well and is not to much to throw around. I would rather be on my 185 than some dinky 156 or what ever is popular these days around here.... I will ride it until it dies.

    MN Bike ride?

Ah well, See you guys on the hill.
  16. I have not ridden my carving boards (or any snowboards) for 3 years. Since my girls have started skiing, I just tele..... I have them though, and they are going to be there when I am ready. Gear is getting REALLY exensive, I just paid $700 for boots and bindings for a tele set-up. YIKES!

    MN Bike ride?

Hey all, Seeing as a bunch of us that carve also ride a bike of one kind or another. Anyone up for a ride???? p.s. anyone ever get the feeling you are being put on some kind of "list" when you log onto bomber?
  18. I check with my friends and everyone is to busy to get into it right now.....
  19. Bob, I know a few people that would be able to fix it. Not in shops. You are right, this is not a small job. I will ask them and let you know. They tend to be pretty busy. Doug
  20. It may not be a bad idea to go into your ski patrol office and show them how intecs work..... They are USUALLY pretty open to learning how gear works. If you don't get anywhere, ask to speak to the patrol director.

    MES 2015

Well, I would like to say I am going to be there, but, I am in the middle of a kitchen remodel/addition and I am SURE I will be working that day..... Cabinets are coming Feb 2nd. Have fun guys! Just to give you an idea, this is what it looks like right now.
  22. Bob, if you are transporting your boards on an open roof rack make sure the road grime does not sit on them for long. The anti-ice solution they use now can really do a number on the aluminum parts not to mention the edges......
  23. Will do. Thanks Bob.
