johnstewart
I and a fair number of hardbooters (more than I've seen anywhere else) ride at Tyrol Basin. Here's the google maps version. You can see some flecks of white where the ski runs are: Tyrol Basin

Wish I was at Tahoe - but due to new family addition three weeks ago, I probably won't be allowed to go up for another month or two... Jim
Tahoe is getting dumped on for New Years with clear skies the following week. No fluffy pow but it makes for unreal hero-cord. Jon Dahl
I've already got more on snow days than last season, and am loving it! May be at Stevens Pass on Sunday or Monday, don't know yet. (aka wifey hasn't planned my weekend yet!) Or maybe a trip on the splitboard! dantheman0177
I love being in the lower reaches of the bell curve.... But seriously, on a day like this (and today is one of them), Torquay is a great place to live!
johnstewart
john, How does tyrol compare to like wilmot(hillmot) or alpine valley? Sorry, never been to either one of those. It's a couple of hundered foot elevation, with a couple of good runs for carving. No mecca, but it's only 15 minutes awar fromwork for me. =)

AaronG
Southern Cal here, I am lovin' the high 70s temps, I went wakeboarding and water skiing on Christmas day, Ya gotta love that!!!! I am hating the snow situation though, bought a season's pass and have only used it once.
BlueB
Hey, Jack, where is Africa on the poll? :D There was a single hard booter in South Africa, when I lived there (not me - I didn't have a board at that time). Quite funny, the guy was not carving his turns but rather doing very advanced skid turns at the gate and then straitlining for the next one (in GS). He was quite a good skier too, I struggled to beat him in ski events. Then one year, a Canadian (former South African) hardbooter/carver came to compete in our Nationals. He did a clear sweep in all gate events and BX. He even went over big air (but without much of twisting and turning).... Boris

pm_wizard
Good morning Jack, It is actually below freezing here this morning, major progress! It may even snow New Year's Eve (at least 1 or 2 cm). So much for the Ice Coast argument. John
