I have had gf's whose technique was varied enough that I was always looking for the next. I think that her secret was that she tried new things to keep it entertaining for herself. Some other gf's did the same thing again and again. it tended to loose its novelty. Don't be afraid to break the rules (if there are any) and have fun while it's business time.
