.... scan my entire body as I have a lot of trouble areas that need repair. I would think its much easier to get a busted one and just peel away layers. Since the top is see through you can get an idea of what the board is made of. ....

Not too many questions yet to be answered but a hands on operation would be best.

Bruce - are you bragging up your Canadian socialistical medicine again? Is it true you have to sign a carbon donor card to get admitted to an Emergency Room?

If someone had access to an industrial x-ray used for inspection and failure analysis you could use it to analyze the layers. You can adjust the depth of field and the focus to see the different layers. It is VERY fancy...... You can see separate layers of only a few thou.

The only kicker is you would need someone there that would know what they are looking at (Bruce). Otherwise I could get it done.

Edit: I guess the link that zone posted above is close....

This might just do it.

Bruce, does my VSR has carbon in it if I can get the ok from the radiology dpt?

It has carbon on top of the aluminum and also some inside of the base. Looks like the technology exists to scan it but why doesn't someone just send me a broken one, I'm oldschool.

Do you need my health card?

I'm still intrigued by the MRI and possible missiles, now that sounds like an exciting test!

though I've never owned one (used to ride gnu back in the day), I've always been a fan of lib tech / mervin - loved the old litigators. the new hardware is pretty cool though. Curious what a skunk ape rides like.

I took a 190 Skunk Ape to SES last year and rode it the first day I arrived at SES with softies for grins. Hey there was plenty of powder in the trees. That was my first and only day of riding it, so far. I found it to be quite forgiving; it has a short radius, turns surprisingly tight. I had the bindings spaced out good, and it didn't look that big. It does seem like a size-able amount of board, and I honestly didn't think it was that much fun. My thoughts are maybe I need to add a bit of speed and give it a few more days. I've also been a big fan of the look of the Grocer and other large old school Lib boards, and had to give it a go when one came along.

I rode a Lib Snow Mullet a couple of days later - which is more of a 160-ish length, and loved that. Works really well in powder.

That project is still in the works, If anyone has a broken original send it my way! I now have an original but only had a reissue during the attempt to build the first "trubute" board so my model to work off of was improper to start with. My original is still rideable so I'm not going to butcher it up to see exactly what fabric types they used. Will still need mine in one piece for comparative testing. I have a good idea whats going on in most of it but the reissues plate seems not to be that same as the originals and I can't really get an exact look at it without taking a good chunk out of it. Send any pieces my way boys!

I have a original 158 that the bottom is worn out. Now it just hangs on the wall of my listening room. I would be willing to give it up for a chance that you could replicate it. Please contact me if you are interested. Thanks Brad

Just took the Coiler Angrry ASM core out today.

It's :1luvu: at the first run.

I violated the golden rule of not changing too many thing at one time.

New board

shorten the stance from 20.5 to 19.5

use blue bumper in the front and yellow in the back.

Holy cow; what a difference it made. I can actually call meself a carver for once. Well the condition help ALOT lol.

spec:

Angrry/SL pointy nose.

PTEX Logo White

160 x 19 x 9.5

ASYM core regular

I don't see how Bruce can make it any better but I will start saving money now.

Pow4ever, sounds like an awesome stick! I have something very similar - on the right here:

http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=350486&postcount=125

Mine's 161 x 19.8, avg 10 m sidecut, and asym of course. It's quite different from an original Madd 158, but I like the Coiler better :1luvu::1luvu::1luvu::1luvu::1luvu:

Crazy grippy, Damp during the turn, poppy at the end of the turn. Sound familiar? But, responds much better to weight-centered techniques, and the inserts are in the right place on the board ;)

I know many folks are in love with the original Madd 158s, but if you get the chance, try out a metal Angrry or SL. (I asked Bruce what the difference was a while back - he said the main thing is the SL is more tapered. And yes, you can get plenty of tail pop out of a tapered metal w/runbber board, if it has a flex pattern that is geared towards that sort of thing) They're pretty amazing boards. Again, not the same as an original Madd, but awesome in their own right, with a few things in common with the Madds

Another great day with the Angrry.

Condition is 2-3" of fresh snow on top of hardpack.

Trails got chop up quick. Angrry handle it with ease.

It also float quite well with the "narrow" waist.

Another happy customer here. I don't know what wax Bruce used but it fly...

Mr. Canuck: for your viewing pleasure.

Mike: Good looking quiver there. I did debated should I get the SL as the "Madd" board of the old require more riding proficiency than I can mustered. However I demo the Angrry at SES and know it was the board for me.
