skategoat
What is wrong with this picture? I do business with this bank. I'm re-thinking that decision. Whoever was responsible for approving that image needs to be fired, immediately.
BlueB
If they are downloading at Whistler, you actually can and sometimes have to carry the board on your lap.
skategoat
Boris, you are very kind to assume that the couple in question are downloading at Whistler. I've only downloaded on the gondola. Are you sure you can carry your board on an open chairlift? I would think the risk of dropping it would be too great. Maybe when there is no snow at the bottom? skategoat
Here's a better shot. I don't think they're downloading at Whistler.
Ernie00
it.s just an add.. and it looks stupid I agree. whoever is responsible for it .. thank god is not responsible for banking. If you still want to close your accounts, you can always give me all your money and I'll send a decent chairlift picture to please you ;)
snowboardworm
i have to admit when i first saw the ad i didn't take notice as i refuse to use TD. now that i see it again it my first reaction was WTF! at least they are showing the couple wearing hemets
BlueB
Are you sure you can carry your board on an open chairlift? Yup, I did it this Sunday. I'm not defending the ad, just saying it is not an impossible situation...
nekdut
Downloading chair J1 at June Mountain requires you to do that. I've done it with two 180cm+ boards before, and it wasn't particularly comfortable. But yes, it looks silly, especially for a bank ad. I think a little fact checking is good thing. Have you see the Bud Light ad with the stewardesses? That one also gets my goat. She kicks the ham with the wrong foot. Neil Gendzwill
I thought I saw a version of that ad with the boards on the feet. But that isn't the unbelievable part. Just look at those people - short of putting them in dress clothes, they couldn't look less believable as snowboarders.
photodad2001
Chances are they are indoors in front of a backdrop or green screen and had they been wearing the boards on their feet they would have been touching the floor. Regaurdless, it looks funny and the only place I've had to do that is on the gondola at Keystone and my board rode outside mounted to a rack. Chubz
If anything, it should be a Viagra or Cialis Ad. Paint the scene: After a few drinks, John introduced himself to Susan at the Summit Lodge bar. Many drinks later, feeling saucy and frisky, John snuck off to the bar bathroom, popped a Cialis, and invited Susan for a drink at his valley condo. SHe accepted. :1luvu:They felt it would be best to take the lift down, instead of riding and risking the waste of a Cialis Pill. John then wisely used his board to cover up any embarrassing PSI buildup. Little did John know, Susan also took a Cialis only to find out later that she was also covering something up with her board BECAUSE Susan is a man or something like that...................... John certainly is displaying the " Woo hoo, getting lucky tonight " look while Susan the devilishly grins knowing the suprise she hides behind her board, we can only help it goes well for both. Banking? NO Plumbing Pills? YES

skategoat
They sure look like they are protecting their privates, don't they. I think it went like this: The first photo probably had them wearing their boards on their feet. The creative director looks at the setup shots and says "Hey, you can't see the boards". Then he comes up with a brainstorm - "I know, we'll have them carry the boards.".
Chubz
Oh, I left the part out about John having and SL board and Susan having a DH or GS gun. thus the bigger grin

(In association with RED snowboarding products)".
