  1. I have joined the tribe!!! I turn 52 this year and I figured if i'm ever gonna try a skateboard its time. So I bought myself a Lost Scorcher. first time on a skate board since I tried it once when I was 16 and it unceremoniously dumped me on my butt. About 5 minutes in today and I was able to keep my balance. 10 minutes in and I was kicking myself and coasting. After 15 I was riding switch if thats possible. I dont know the terms so forgive the terminology. I figure after a few more short sessions i'll be ready for some slight grades. Knee pads, elbow pads, helmet and carbon fiber knuckled gloves were all in place. I felt like a geek dressed like this but it was so worth it. i look forward to our long hill here in the BC north. greg

  5. Corey, Ive never had a smooth crossing. Border guards are trained to be obnoxious as far as I'm concerned. I say this knowing that they train at our same facility here in the west. Try crossing down in Vancouver cause you want to go visit a skiing buddy and have quesadillas for supper. It would be actually comical if the potential outcome weren't so bad. Ooops. forgot about my border crossing into Montana with the ex wife. All they did was got through the trailer which had about 40K in bicycles tons of beer which they ignored, and took all my oranges so they could roll them downhill at our canadian guards. greg
  6. nice to see the community pull together to help a young fella out. 2 thumbs up guys!!!
  7. KC If nothing pans out in a day or so let me know. I have a 2010 coiler NSR 182 GS with about 6 days riding on it although its 21 wide. greg
  8. "The Fissle has been mentioned. How would the Fissle compare to the Dupraz D1?" DrCR I just bought and sold a 2011 178 Fissle. I had 3 rides on it and sold it not because of how it rode but because I let a Lifty named Crystal borrow it and she wanted it reallllllyyyyyyy badly after that. She absolutely fell in love with it and rides it on everything including groomed. She does not find it skittish at all as she is accustomed to soft boot boards with short SCR. I prefer hard boots now and did not try it with hard boots on. To me it is a pure powder board comparable to my 192 Tanker or my 187 Helisnowcat Wide Tanker. Mainly because, with a short turning radius of 6.5m, it was rather skittish on groomed. In the powder, the speed and float of it was incomparable. This board has turned Crystal into one of the fastest boarders on the mountain and she regularly boards thru the trees with experienced powder skiers and she is not left behind. At Powder King which is my home mountain, we have a great amount of powder but an intermediate hill with lots of flat sections and lots of trees. As such, big boards with lots of float rule here. Hope this helps. greg
  9. I never should have started reading this thread. My beautiful Rad Air Tanker 192 with TD3's yellow bumpers has the inserts delaminating on the front. DAMN!!! I noticed it by waxing the board and noticed that the iron rocked. I looked at the top sheet and noticed "wobbling" and space between the bumper and top sheet. Pulling the binding off shows that delamination is approx 14" long and cracking of the top sheet on both sides of the insert pack. I've got the feeling that I have a new bench for sitting on or maybe some wall art. I'll email Harry and see what he has to say and will post his reply here when he answers . greg
  10. Enjoy it while you can. I envy my 22 yr old kid who works for 6 months, saves all his money and then is going to live in Whistler for the next year to 2 years before he has to go back to work.
