You need to get Madd. The Madd BX CB is by far the best crud cruncher I've ridden. 168cm with more edge hold than you could ask for in crunchy conditions. This thing only gets better the worse the conditions get. In perfect conditions I reach for my longer, Sims, but when it gets packed and hard, the Madd is what you want.

You are the "cover band" of this forum. Find some originality.

I actually liked it for it's hold on the ice. It seemed the cruddier it got the better the board performed.

Ok, I've posted many "premeire" vids of Casper a while back, but after the slaughtering I get when I try to put anything on here about carving I figured I'd stick to Off Topic. Oh, I did give a review of the Madd BX 168 I bought from Bigcanuk. Figures, you'd ask for 1, I'd give you several and it still wouldn't be good enough. You know, keep me on ignore and try very hard not make first contact with me again. K? Has StevefromOregon and AlaskanRover not been keeping you busy enough? What have you done positive this week?

Old enough to be a grumpy old man. :p My avatar is from 89 and I wish you could see the top sheet because that was a Burton Air prototype. The rep that sold it to me as a demo said they only made 15 of those. The model that was produced was the one that had the purple top sheet with the red lettering "AIR" on the top. Mine was tourqoise with purple lettering and had a glossy top sheet instead of the flat textured top sheet.

Wow, that's some serious stuff, but can relate. I'm divorced and am nearing the end of a nasty 7 year custody battle with my only child. I'm almost done with my bachelors degree in radiology all while working and barely making ends meet and doing the single father thing. Looking forward to, but at the same time understanding the situations I'll be facing working in the medical field. I spent most of my childhood in hospitals starting with open heart surgery at the age of 7 due to a ventricular septum defect. I attend a school that is conected to one of our local hospitals. I've heard all kinds of stories about ignorant parents. I think the worst one I've seen is a mother who brought in her daughter who was so dehydrated it was nearly impossible to insert an IV because her veins had colapsed. The child was consious but not responsive. Apparently she had been having serious diarrea for nearly 2 weeks, couldn't keep anything down, and had a fever of 105 before she brought her in. Her daughter was 9 months.

Some of the packaging companies do is so over the top it's comical. I've broken the item I was trying to get out before the packaging would give way. Simple cardboard constructed boxes with an opening to see in and maybe some metal twisty ties to hold it in place would be easier. Cans and bottles (glass) instead of plastic jugs. I can remember when you bought a pop you got a can or glass bottle. Beer companies still use glass bottles, let's hear it for BEER!!!

I've had a friend ask me to make a video montage of his daughter who is graduating this year. I have Adobe Premeire but have only used it for doing videos for on-line purposes. After going through the extensive manual I told my friend that I could put it on VHS, but not DVD. He has a budy who gave him the Corel Video Studio Pro and he wanted me to do it using this software because you can make an actual DVD. After many long hours of figuring it out I've been able to finish his video, but when I went to make it a DVD things didn't work out. I clicked on "Share", then "Create video file", then "DVD", then "NTSC DVD 4:3", and saved it to a file. I then put in a DVDR disk and burned it. I put it in the DVD player and the file came up, but when I clicked on it, it didn't play. Anyone out there have any trouble shooting ideas it would be helpful as I have to have this done by Saturday and if I can't get it to play by Thursday night I need to start considering alternate options.

Thanks for the possitive reply and I think that a replacement will not be necessary. In a 3 bedroom house, one roomate is enough. I've known this guy since highschool and he has a kid too, so I think the "bachelor" attidude is a thing of the past. Side note, my daughter started windsurfing this year and can already gybe and tack. We've been out 3 times this year and she is where I was after more than twice that many times out. Thinking about getting her a harness for next year if not later this summer.

Fixture? Absolutely. Pissing people off? Well, he may not talk about alternatives to high priced gear and follows the mainstream thought about hardbooting vs. soft, but I would not say he doesn't have a mean streak or is a hot head or steps out of line. Bobdea, you and I have butted heads many o' times, but for some reason I hold you in a different light. Perhaps because Tex gets away with violent attacks, not just against me, but others, comments that others would never get away with simply because he clings to the "old" model of hardboot carving. Is that a bad thing? Well, I know we all hate change, but if the sport is going to branch out we have to be willing to accept the fact that if alpine is going to be around in 20 years then there has to be some flexability. Even BOL is coming out with SB gear, and every company that makes the skinny HB boards are making wider and wider carving alternatives. Even SB specific "carving" boards. Yes, I've made the mistake of talking about SB on the carving forum in the past, but in the year 2010 I've kept all my comments about SB on the off topic page (with the exception of the SB thread started by the administration). I can say that I've never told another member of BOL to kill themselves.

Have you talked with Tex? Maybe if you let him know his verbal comments of members "killing" themselves and foul language would lessen if he knew it was not in the BOL spirit.

I think the problem has been solved. It's been just over 48 hours since he left and not only I, but my other room mate also commented that the level of stress and general atmosphere in the house is much more "zen". I think we are going to leave it this way. I can't afford not to have a room mate, and the one that's left has been pretty good over a long period of time.

You have bad roommates too? I know how ya feel.

I've heard their side, it goes a little like this... "I pay to live here so I can do what I want". At least they aren't as anal and arogant as you and some others on here. Last thing I need would be for them to say how outdated my house is. At least they don't go looking for me to start arguments. Has Tex showed you the ignore function?

Sorry for the delayed response, I've been windsurfing and haven't had time to get on here. Actually, yes, I am over 35 too, but seeing how after the divorce and custody battle with this given economy, getting layed off and having to go back to school since changing careers seemed the smartest thing to do I have taken room mates into my house. I've lived here since before I was married and had a child so I will NOT be the one moving out. Number 20 was a "statement made in frustation". I've since told one of them to start looking for another place. Not sure about the shower but did catch him with a girl in my room. He said he needed the bed.

I'm at the breaking point. I live with 2 roommates and the little things are really starting to get to me. 1. Ice cube trays keep getting put back into the freezer with either no ice or 1-3 cubes. 2. The dryer filter is always full of lint 3. Tables have become way too cluttered 4. My groceries are being consumed by ghosts 5. The shows I record on digital cable are getting erased to make room for CSI Miami 6. Someone is taking sh#%s right before I have to brush my teeth 7. The shower curtain is constantly being taken down and I have no idea why 8. My favorites got erased on the computer 9. There's a huge stain on the carpet downstairs and nobody knows what happened 10. I left a 20 dollar bill out (ok, partially my fault) but nobody knows where it is 11. The gas can for filling the lawn mower has become empty 12. There was a piece of some foreign foodlike substance floating in my aquarium 13. There's a large oil spot in the center of the driveway, and I'm about 99.9% sure it was my roomates friend's car that put it there 14. The sink in the utility room smells of urine 15. The thermostat keeps getting moved up and down 16. The kitchen sink was full of what I could only describe as pottery clay 17. Did I mention my groceries keep disapearing? 18. I found the computer left on to an adult porn site 19. My laundry has been placed on the floor after it was washed and before it made it to the dryer. Why not put it in the dryer? OK, I left it in the washing machine. Tell me and I'll put it in the dryer. 20. I need to get rid of somebody or move out myself All this has happened in the last 2-3 months.

We're hard core around here. Perfect conditions are when you can push your finger a half inch into the snow.

180 is an allaround freeride board. Learned my first 360's back in 88 on a 171 Sims Blade. All about the big boards. Also did my first flat spins on a 171 and that was when boards where heavy.

That board had absolutely NO rocker at all! Like an old ironing board.

My first comment was how the lighting created the illusion of moguls (yes there is a bit of chop from it being tracked up a bit but it would look much smoother if it was shot mid day), my second comment was that EC is not sloppy, out of control, or controlled "fall", and finally my coment to Buell was a response to his statement and the underlying bitterness stems back to a thread that I started about my daughter and I getting hit by dive bombers and our disagreement on how frequently you should have to look up hill. (there's been more since of course, like the sb thread by Fin) I've cleaned up my act. I'll "tow the company line", but I'm not going to be a whipping post either. I don't get into the "race" side of the sport (I've been in 3 competitions my whole life and placed 1st in each but they were in Ohio against maybe 15 other competitors so take it for what it's worth) and I enjoy what to me looks good and that is EC. I think Casper is the best carver I've ever seen because of his style (even more impressive than the Swoard guys). Not sure how he'd do on a race course but really don't care, I still haven't seen another snowboarder do what he can do. Casper also has videos of riding older gear which tells me that what I'm striving for, the style and type of riding I crave (and a style and type this forum supports and is about) doesn't require thousand dollar metal boards to be able to participate (in keeping with the BOL company line let me insert it would be better to have better gear). I've also enjoyed the videos of softbootcarver and others ripping in softboots. Now I know softboot conversations need to stay in Off Topic so I'll end there.
