I did rip some epic turns today. Sugarloaf got 18" on Sunday and no wind. They rolled it out last night and with temps around zero (F) overnight it set up just right. Brought out the Madd 180 for the first time this season and just leaned it over at Mach 1 with no worries. A thin veil of frozen mist hovered over the mountain, and the sun shining through it made it look like glittering pixie dust. It was truly a rare day. Maybe he had something to do with it.

But jeesh, someone change that unflattering picture.

I guess it's fitting that the first snowboard I ever owned was/is the Craig Kelly mustard/ketchup design, the one pictured in the bumper sticker mentioned above.

I still have that board, adorning my living room.

Time to throw some old fashioned method's in his honor....

He died doing what he (we) loved, not a bad way to go.

odd coincedental thoughts popped into my head....

I bought a 1966 Thunderbird in 2003. (Born/died years of CK)

I sold it last year on the last day of Eastcoast season.

It was painted in the primer color: artic white.

The guy who bought it, found it from Craigs' List.

That very same day, I bought my friends K2 big mountain Nemesis board.

That board is going with me to SES. My first "big trip" to a "big mountain" out west.

GO BIG OR GO HOME.
