Bubba
I didn't even know Blind Melon was still around. I moved from SoCal to Minneapolis and both music scenes were great. I now live in a small town in southern MN and it seems like the only thing around is country which is like nails on the chalkboard for me. No decent live shows ever hit close to me. Blue Oyster Cult played a free show in Rochester last weekend and it was like stepping back in time......I didn't know mullets were still that popular. Had a bunch of my "country" friends over for a July 4th party and all I played was ska. Heard "What the hell is this s**t" numerous times. willywhit
I didn't even know Blind Melon was still around. the guy that replaced shannon sounds just like him and kinda looks like him. Great band carrying on a great vibe musically. their new stuff is pretty good , too. Keep those summer concerts coming. I wish I could take off and travel to some of the awesome weekend long camp out festivals that are all over these days. a few friends went to Bonnaroo and said it was epic, like they old dead show days. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WMY-n9MF6o&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WMY-n9MF6o&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Sits on a cliff overlooking the Columbia. Logistics of running the store are not looking good but......God it looks good. Especially for those windsurf, windsailer types that ride the wind on the Columbia.
Strider
Ive only seen one so far, and it was Trombone Shorty. Check him out if you like New Orleans style music with a new edge to it. The kid is truly talented.
willywhit
at the Gorge is the first time I saw kitesurfing (in 1998) and was truely amazed. Just one guy hucking himself at the Hatchery. How about some AM snow sliding at mt hood, a stanky windy session on the river and a def leppard concert after dark ?....THAT would be a full day. some say windsurfing is ghey....I disagree. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qamhn8zVAns&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qamhn8zVAns&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p0z1y5mg_E&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p0z1y5mg_E&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
dantheman0177
I saw Powderfinger / Ben Harper / Counting Crows in Hyde Park London a couple of weeks ago which was pretty awesome (except for the rain). Have tix booked for Xavier Rudd in a few weeks too, which I'm really looking forward to. If you like blues & roots kind of music, he is doing a North American tour in September which I really recommend.
Michelle
Ive only seen one so far, and it was Trombone Shorty. Check him out if you like New Orleans style music with a new edge to it. The kid is truly talented. Trombone Shorty is AWESOME! Saw him the summer after Katrina in Glenwood Springs.going to see Michael Franti on Fri for free in Steamboat. Should be a hoot with all the Steamboat kids. Have seen some smaller shows - all for free- this summer in and around CO. We have really fantastic free shows! Allee
Coldplay were supposed to headline in BC for a 3 day outdoor this month, but they bailed. Damn glad I didn't buy tix - over $300 for the 3 days and camping, and they were the only band I really wanted to see. Would have been a good time, but a nine hour drive there and back and three days off work ... meh. We had some pretty good stuff in town over Stampede - 50Cent, Kid Rock, Billy Idol/Joan Jett (which I would totally have gone to, but it was a private show put on by one of the oil companies for their staff and hangers on), lots of great local bands free at the Stampede grounds. I was too busy getting plastered with my workmates and watching the firemen v cowboys pole climb to go...

Pow
Saw Rush on July 5th, it rocked! Some of their new stuff is pretty good, but the best song of the night was definitely 2112. Geddy didnt miss a note, everyone was spot on. One of the few bands in the world that sounds better live than recorded. Funny as hell too. <object height="344" width="425"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrejJHPnVfk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></object>

willywhit
Linkin Park was not as enjoyable as Chris Cornell last night. He played alot of old Soundgarden and thankfully not too much crooning or new stuff. Busta Rhymes came out for an encore with LP.Chris did a song with Chester Bennington, too. Almost didn't go but hard to resist a free ticket and good times taligatin' in the lot on a sunny beautiful day. Cops are brutal these days, shakin' down the kids just trying to have a drunko good time Projekt Revolution ? more like project shakedown:rolleyes: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZh2KPnbENQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZh2KPnbENQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzQI6y1_IGQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzQI6y1_IGQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> just found some reeaallly crappy audio footage, but chris & busta <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeKGGeaWP9I&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeKGGeaWP9I&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-I3qpZ--60&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-I3qpZ--60&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

KingCrimson
Well, Neil can play the drums.. But cmon now. Fripp. To be honest, all these progressive bands are too different to be compared in such a manner. But getting a Rush fan all roiled up sure is fun!
