  1. I'm in Utah for a while this winter and according to Snowbird's website it has snowed 70 inches in the last 7 days. The forecast is calling for 3 more days of it. With the crowd from MLK wkd and closures(road and lift), I'm taking a couple of days off:(
  2. Thanks to a tip from ktv and lots of practicing it, I have learned to actually have a somewhat effective heelside turn. I even got complimented by a softboot carver about it!
  3. Hey John, I'm very bummed to hear about your new pain. With an outcome like barryj's, I'm hoping to see you making turns at Turner in '24. JC
  4. Thanks for the info VSR-Alex! The boards up on ebay;make an offer!
  5. Thank you JNG! I usually don't ride on weekends, but may give it a try while out in the PNW. IIRC, one them also requires a lift ticket reservation with the Ikon pass
  6. Thanks GetLow! I was initially planning on midweek only, but may do crystal on the wkd. I'm flying out on the 21st of March(Tuesday) so I'll plan on Snoqualmie the next day. The after carve session beer is a must for me; greatly appreciate the Timberwolf tip!
  7. I'm going to visit my daughter in Kent. Crystal and Snoqualmie are both on the Ikon pass: Crystal is about an half hour further than Snoqualmie, but it is also a little larger. I'm more of a green/blue surf carver, not a kill the mountain carver. Buttermilk is my favorite in Aspen ,followed by the Elk Camp area at Snowmass. Looking at the trail maps, it seems that Snoqualmie may offer more of that type of terrain. It seems that Snoqualmie would be good as it is closer and seems to have terrain that I would enjoy. Do any of you northwest carvers have any other intel that would influence the choice? Grooming quality? Ease of access? Or anything else you can think of!
  8. My 162 Contra was called a "hybrid snowboard"!
  9. This was purchased used from OSB here on Bomber and I'm not sure of it's age. I had it tuned by SkiMd and rode it about 10 times before deciding it's too much board for my skills and mass. The base has some scratches which show up well in the images and the topsheet has some chips along the edge $300 includes shipping to the lower 48

Cool! I was told it wouldn't be there until tomorrow. May you win many beers while racing with it.

This board was purchased new from Bomber, I'm guessing about 2010. Bought it, had it tuned by SkiMd, and decided it was too much for my limited skills and mass. It has about 10 runs on it after the tune and is in very good condition. $400 including shipping to the lower 48
  12. The food at the lodge was fantastic last year. Made from scratch I'm very bummed not to be there Enjoy it!!
  13. Hey Ladia Good to hear that you are able to get out and get some. I'm in FL visiting my Dad for father's day and the low temp was 79 degrees
  14. I'm interested in a UPZ plus 2 spring. I'll be at the MCC also.
  15. My roller skate tire went flat...
  16. Three for dinner at the bbq: John E, Michigan Mike and jimcheen. Thx for putting this together Corey
  17. I'm thinking of canceling my trip this year after looking at the snow report from the aspen/snowmass website. Snowmass has only 750 of 3000 acres open. All 4 hills are only partially open. The weather for the next 15 days has only one day forecast with snow. I lose a lot of money but save enough to spend a week here in the east, which is doing well so far this season. It's not a matter of good or bad snow, it's a matter of NO snow:(
  18. Thanks Corey for keeping the BOL spirit going Thanks Fin, for keeping The BOL forum up and running. I'm very much looking forward to hearing the story of your experience with the Callen's. With SBS returning to Aspen Valley, I'm hoping that the snow will follow:)
  19. So sorry to hear this news. I hope you mend quickly
