Gecko
I concur, I finally get my heated grips to install and today is so was so warm I actually rode to work in jeans, my leather jacket and summer gloves. Not that I am complaining about the warmth but I would still prefer snow on the ground or at least air cold enough to blow snow.

Jack M
Man, now that I've downloaded all the wallpaper and read the Motorcyclist Mag write-up, it is so obvious this was designed to be the real 916 replacement from the word go. From some angles you could even mistake this bike for a 916. They clearly want to just sweep the 999 under the rug. I remember the first time I saw a picture of the 999, I thought it was someone's sick idea of a cruel photoshop joke. Of course in person it was much better, even striking when considered on the whole, and I convinced myself I liked it. But damn, this bike is the real deal. I can lust for it with no exceptions. Must suck to be Pierre Terreblanche right now, watching your company (former company?) backpedal, trying to erase your mistakes from history, and to know that sales of your design were so bad, they had to slash the price of the new bike by $3000 to buy back market share. tex1230
not sure I should be doing this in this horsepower-heavy thread...but I picked this up over the summer...I'm in love
Jack M
Sweet Bonneville! But I thought you got a Harley?
tex1230
looked at a harley - couldn't justify the price for the quality. I love the brit bikes now...already looking to upgrade to a speed triple... The bonneville is such a blast to ride. not a super powerful bike but tons of torque...plus it looks just like the '70s version - so much that I get stopped on a regular basis by peoplewho want to talk about their first bonneville from that era. I've considered a few mods but it's a great commuter as is and I'm just gonna save up for the triple and turn it into a badass street fighter and give the bonneville to my wife. ... or my son... oh, yeah - he's ready
willywhit
tex, he looks ready , for sure. Sweet Eddie Van Halen gauchos he's sportin', too. My kitesurfin' buddy from Guatemala bought this new Daytona 600 with his bro last year. His bro has since been rear ended on it ( he's fine )so now he's willing to give demo rides. Can't wait. The pic is blurred due to my inebriated camera skills. After the accident he replaced the rear end with a solo seat/ aftermarket tail section kit. badass street fighter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoFOkZS8OE8&feature=PlayList&p=8EE603E7879C87F0&index=
carvedog
Jack you gotta warn me on these kinds of posts. I just drooled all over my keyboard. Do you know how hard that is to get out? At least it didn't short out. Used to do some street racing on a GPZ550 but always loved the Ducs.
Jack M
you know, this 1098 for $3000 less than the 999 begs the question..... will the 750 cost $9000? Will it be an 800? Nah, they couldn't race an 800. Not that they really care about SS racing anyway, but still. Carvedog, Fin will get you a replacement keyboard. Machined from billet, of course. Gecko
Jack you forget that they can race an 850 here in the states and Larry Pegram is doing just that with full Corse backing from what the rumors say.

Gecko
very nice to see another Bueller here. The M2 is probably the best Buell that's been produced
Erik J
I don't have one but I am definitely a Buell fan. I took a few different models out for test rides - amazing!
willywhit
I could've bought that Buell for short money. Luckily, another kitesurfin' bud got it , so it's still "in the family". I'll be lookin' for a new bike for the spring and that M2 is on the top of the list. My first street bike at 15 was an 1976 Yamaha RD 400 mine was green with Bassani Pipe, clip ons , rear sets, steering dampner. I loved downshifting next to the kids on thier mopeds in high school....braaaaaap !
