FREE Board!!

Sorry it's not a late model ride:) SOLD (well sort of) I have a Sims Carve 161 sitting around. No dings, nicks, or gouges. I bought it new for $100 at Toronto Ski show when I first got the carving craving. I rode it for one of our short seasons. It was fine to learn on, for my small south Ontario hills. I thought it might help someone take their first step off a freestyle board:eplus2: It could use a light grind and edge tune, but other than that it's good to go. Just cover the shipping from N6J 2K2.

Whoops, thanks John. You can get TD1 compatible heels here: www.yyzcanuck.com/store/INTEC-Heel-Kit.html

TD1 Step-Ins

You are welcome to them. I'm up in Canada--don't know if that would complicate the transaction for you or not. Paypal is simplest for me. Also I don't know if you are aware that the step-ins require that your boots have Intec heels so you can "click-in" I think a set of those will set you back $129US here at Bomber if you don't have them on your boots already. best, Chris

I'm selling these with two three degree disks and purple bumpers. Throwing in a six degree disk and purple bumpers so you can mess around with the setup. Moderate use, but everything is in good shape. $120 shipped anywhere in N.A.
5. Thanks Nick BTS arrived in record time.
6. NIck, I'll take them if you'll ship them UPS to Canada. I will paypal for them if that's okay. Chris
7. If you haven't looked at the article below do so, and also part two. My biggest problem with heelsides was 1/slow on initiation, and then 2/too much weight on my front foot, and not shifting to a balanced position with equal weighting after the turn was well started. This was causing the back of the board to wash out. Of course, this may not be your problem. http://www.bomberonline.com/articles/feel_the_carve.cfm
8. A number of previous posts have mention core weakness. I think there is something key in this. Last year I was in less than good shape (as a 53 yr. old) and had a number of "tweaks" in my back from hard falls, less than good form doing squats, running when tired, and finally pulling some pretty good G's on heelside turns. The result was a bulging disk in the L5 S1 joint which really bloomed during a trip out west with my son and my brother last year. I could stand, or I could sit, but moving from one position to the other was extremely painful. Like getting off the lift. Buckets of Advil, ice, and stretching if I could, kept things manageable. .Sometimes I would stand up, and without warning fall to my knees in pain. What fun. Come spring, one of the only things I could do without pain was ride my road bike. Must have been the stretched out position. I was prescribed Lyrica, which I think originally was developed for diabetics to calm the inflamed nerve endings they are prone to, but a side benefit was noticed for nerves irritated by disk mis-alignment. This helped, and things finally subsided enough that I started working on my core strength and balance by mid summer. Bosu balls and exercise balls were key. Most of my strength training was done with less weight and some kind of core challenge involved. I felt a bit like a sideshow in the gym doing upright rows, cable chops, and one legged squats with a bosu and so forth, but the pay off has been good core strength and balance. No pain this winter, and if I get myself off balance or hit some crap snow I usually can recover much more quickly and without straining something. I also did a lot of stretching and got some good massage when I could afford it. For what it's worth, it worked for me. Core strength and stretching. Aging sucks. I rarely run angles higher than 55/50.
9. Listen to BlueB It doesn't matter what size street shoe the seller is wearing. Your foot is a mondo 26.7 and you should be in a 26-26.5 shell with a thermo liner of 26.5 or maybe a 26.
10. Right, sorry I missed that. Don't bother converting from the street size. Stand with your foot on a piece of paper--mark the end of the longest toe, and where your heel ends with a pencil and measure that in centimeters. That's your mondo size.:)
11. Don't worry about your street shoes, you'll be leaving them at the bottom of the hill. If you measure 26.7 then likely you'll be fine in 26.5 size boots, especially if you use good footbeds--they tend to shorten the length of your foot by supporting your arch. You might even find that you fit nicely in a size 26 liner. Worth trying if you like a performance fit. Best of luck.
12. Oh, I hope you made his day and said, "Yes!...nuclear powered..."
13. Which says "I've Killed for Less" ...I have a sticker over it. fortunately it doesn't affect the ride.
14. I have a 162 in good shape. Base is near perfect, top sheet has a few scratches.
15. Those bindings must have an Intec or Fintec heel on the boot. You would need a specific snowboard hard boot like Deeluxe, Raichle, or Head. Unfortunately you can't put that kind of heel on a ski boot, size 13 or not. Enable your email by going to the top of the page where it says "User CP". You'll see the option for email there.

WTB: Split board

I got a Prior 165 split with skins. Also some Bomber split bindings to go with em. It's in nearly new condition, so I won't give it away...but we can talk.:) I'm thinking $650 plus shipping. I can post pics if you're interested.
17. Give 'em a good blast with Febreeze. It gets the stink out of a lot of stuff.
18. Give the Donek website a look, and talk to Sean Martin. I'm sure he'd be happy to describe the board's characteristics. http://www.donek.com/ http://www.donek.com/specs.htm
19. Have a look at Prior's line up. If it's a powder board you want there are several choices. The Spearhead might be a replacement worth considering. If you have the funds, a custom build would be in order for durability considering your weight/aggresive riding style.

Sims Daytona 162

This a fun hard boot ride. I rode one (still do sometimes) for a couple of years before I got the Coiler bug. Supposedly was Mark Fawcett's AM play toy. the forward loaded camber is fun. Mount your bindings forward and it's quick into a turn. If mine wasn't still in good shape...
21. No...please Buell, I don't need the temptation...somebody buy this before I lose control:eek:
