  1. Today was a little chunky to boilerplate depending on the hill and when it was groomed, but it was alot better than slush! Still seems to be a decent base, except for some minor brown spots. Buck had the best groom today, Loki was a little too chunky for my liking. I will be in line at the buck lift before 9. Looking forward to ripping up buck with someone for a change!:D

    Ski Swaps

I got my board at the TC junior high ski swap 4-5 years ago and saw at least 1 carving setup there last fall. It's all in the luck of the draw, if you don't go you'll never know.
  3. Buck has been good everyday till noon and some days longer. Beware of the group of seniors that refer to us as gougers...they hit me on the helmet with their poles yesterday! When buck starts to get soft I find myself at the Ridge or the North Face, they usually last at least a couple hours longer. I need to go downstate this weekend:( but I might still be able to ride a couple hours Saturday morning. Unless I go Thursday so I can ride the weekend.
  4. My local hill closes this Sunday and I have been there every day since last Wednesday trying to get my fill before its gone.
  5. Crystal is open all week from 9-4:30. 9-9 Friday and Saturday and closing next Sunday at 4:30. http://www.crystalmountain.com/winter/index.cfm?fuseaction=skireport I am headed out there right now to fully enjoy my unemployment!
  6. Or maybe they can fly me to Aspen to be a part of the Olympic rings carving team! Here is one more from the bottom of the hill.<object height="350" width="425"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6g0q3Wg66M" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="350" width="425"> </object>
  7. I'm not sure of his name but 5'8" shoulder length dyed blonde curly hair, and he is usually wearing a white coat. I didn't see him out there this morning and couldn't last past noon, I played too hard last night.
  8. <object height="350" width="425"> I stayed on edge all the way...I've done better but not on film. <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo8t-cWDvyY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="350" width="425"> </object>
  9. So I got some more mileage out of my retro outfit today. I think I won the contest(maybe the only contestant) It was a beautiful bluebird day on the hill...and I got lots of compliments on my carving and my outfit. I will be bringing out a carving setup for one of the liftopps to try tomorrow. I'm trying to convert anyone I can!

  11. Another nice day at the hill today. There were four hardbooters there today:eek:, two on coilers, one on a rossi and me on my burton. It was the first time I rode a lift with 3 other hardbooters at crystal!:D The snow held up well thru the day and I found a spot where I can perform the sacred 360 carve at the bottom of loki, the lift opps love it. Anyone that wants to ride tomorrow and needs a ticket give me a shout. Tim
  12. They were complimenting me too, I think they just wanted a reason to say hi. Some were asking where I had been, they must recognize my ruts. This Saturday is passholder appreciation days so each passholder can get a 5$ ticket for a friend... they are still at 100% too. The season is ending at crystal on the 30th of March.:(
  13. I was on the hill from 9-12 this morning. The conditions were nice all over the hill today. Some of the older passholders told me I was ruining buck and to please limit my hill devastation to what I had already ruined:biggthump. They were calling me gouger and rut boy and carver guy. It was alot of fun watching them catch my trenchs.
  14. Hey...Our drop is 375..not 350....lets not make it any smaller than it already is!:D
  15. Today was my first day back at Crystal. WOW still 100% open:biggthump Nice and firm thru the morning softening up a little by noon. Then we got a little sun and the hill went soft quick! I kept hearing skiers curse me for ruining the hill:ices_ange The ruts were only 8-10 inches deep:p I will be there the rest of the week to trench it up! After being out east I feel like I'm on a mole hill. But at least my legs last all day here! Hope to see some of you out there:lurk: Tim
  16. Sugarloaf was a shorter drive for me and it was awesome! :lurk:It would of been a half hour longer drive to Sunday River:rolleyes: but I did fall in love with that hill...It has every thing I want in a hill sept for the lack of a gondola or a high speed lift to the top. I am headed back to Michigan Saturday morning. :AR15firinSome of my friends are cutting an iceberg out of a lake and floating it down a river on Sunday:p...It sounds like a good time that I'll try to make if I get back in time! My luck has been rather awful on this trip. On the morning I left for the Loaf I woke up at 4am and went out to start the car and nothing...dead battery. Had to wake up my wife and her sister to go borrow a car from a neighbor. It was a little stressful. The other carver I saw was a Canadian and not an instructor..He had a Burton Factory Prime the same year and graphics as mine but 4 cm longer with a GS sidecut. He said he saw another carver there in the morning but I never did. Thanks for all the hospitality on the East Coast!....Unless I saw you on the road. What is up with the disrespect to those with out of state plates? Cleb
  17. Nice suggestion! Now I need to sell my house and move to Maine! I got there for first tracks and stayed all day. The snow was firm to a little icy. I softened up just a little by noon and the sun was out all day. I only saw 1 other carver there and rode with him for an hour...he didn't like to carve tho and thought the way I carved was DANGEROUS! We are on a ski hill.....life is dangerous! I really liked the trails....lots of wide steep groomers! If ECES makes it to the Loaf in 2010 let me be the first to confirm attendance!
  18. Boyne Mountain will be open thru April and Boyne Highlands closes March 30. http://www.boyne.com/BoynesBestDeals/Deals/SnowSports/ski_bmfreelift.html Nubs will be open till the 6th of April. If you decide to go with one of these options I would be interested in riding with you for a day or 2. I live about 1.5 hours away and haven't been to either resort yet this year.
  19. I am planning on riding tomorrow 3/13 before I head back to Michigan. Anyone else riding Sugarloaf or Sunday River? I hear its mens day at Shaunee Peak. I am in Rockland, Me. Any suggestions welcome.
  20. The only difference in the 26 and the 26.5 is the footbed.
  21. Problems, thoughts, reasons for selling?... Interested in trading for a set of size 9 Intuition Alpine liners molded once, ridden in for 2 hours?
  22. OOOOhh WOW I moved in to the condo across the street on friday to 9G and heard about the carnage in the morning! I bought a two day pass on Saturday and rode till wet the first day. Sunday morning after packing up and putting all the boards in the box we set off to the hill. We arrived around 8am to gusty winds that had all but the triple closed. I got suited up and bought a ticket for my wife. When I went out to get my board I broke my key while trying to open it up. So I bought a new set of locks for my racks and could not get them installed at the Stowe Auto or the local Thule dealer. I ended up applying for a refund for unused days on the tickets and I'll here back in 30 days. I have since made my way to Rockland ME for the next week. I drilled the lock on the box when I got to Maine and replaced it. It was pretty easy IF you have the right tools!
  23. Isn't noon considered first thing for you?
