  1. Hey! Isn't that Lost Boy trail at Vail Game Creek bowl?
  2. Well, for what it is worth with my racing background with Coach Maccarron, my first reaction to the photo was "too far back above waist -- more forward with arms sticking out front (i.e. like that guy who said pretend to hold lunch tray)"... however, then did I realized he was on soft boots. That notion has a slight difference from hard booting... sooo, my first thing I was thinking was "hmm, a bit more less than toliet bowl and ahve a bit more of sumo wrestling stance" but that's because of my background from duck feet and moderately wide stance from the 90's. I've watched so many 90's snowboard video and have imitated the styling which was a success for me... but in 2000s, I've graduated to hard booting and then ... -ahem- skiing. So my soft booting is a bit stuck to the 90's era. Also, this is my opinion, per se -- I strongly believe the geometric side cut radius plays a huge role on how a turn is executed... I've a strong avid advocate for small side cut radius which translates to squirrely turns, which I like esp at high speed when quick response is necessary. For instance, I'm a fan of 159 Lib Tech Emma Peel which had 8m sidecut radius which is a huge blessing for me. So, esherder, just keep on dialing it in, and you'll "get" it eventually. Takes a while, too. And yes, I'm guilty of toliet bowl stance at times. :)
  3. Schweet, and hopefully your original Madd 158 will be at last for sale. :D Schweet! Where are you these days? Still out down south where there be only mosquitoes and where Leslie Cochran resided (RIP that weird guy)? I need to visit my cousin out thar in them hills, man. I finally got to use my Lib skis, and they're a blast! Fat, too. Used 'em for the wedding, and I'm quite impressed with them french fries edges, dude. Thanks, good sir Jack! :) I'll be damn. With those videos of yours, especially this one and the other one facing back up on those perfect corduary lines with pencil size carving line, it is already inspiring me to return to hardbooting. :) Thanks everybody. I truly appreciate you guys dropping a line.
  4. To say hello to those who know me or is acquainted. It's been a while... and yes, I'm somewhat retired from hardbooting these days. I'm currently pursuing Computer Engineering to acquire the license, and maybe a Master's so I could return to Leitner-Poma to do ski lift construction again as well as wind turbine with Leitwind all ready to go. By that time, MAYBE, I'll resume hardbooting, especially on my beloved Madd 158. :D And hellllllllllllo!!! I miss Silverthorne and I long to return to S'thorne when I'm done with schooling and interning out in Europe, and I shall return with my wife all ready to go with season passes. Yeah, I know you heard me, Michelle and Fin. :) So I'll be bugging you guys again alongside with Steve F., a local former barista at Starbucks in Frisco. :D
  5. Just talked to a deaf local since my move to east coast -- he said the snow's not too great. So, I figure I'd ask the bomber posse and every locals out here on what's the condition at the present time, especially A-Basin?
  6. What up, bordy? ltns! Dude, have you thought about recruiting Coach Garrow and Coach Maccaron ? :) Just a food for a thought. Me, personally, I'll be studying in school (engineering) so I can start building ski lifts again. :)
  7. That is totally awesome! I have done skiing and motorcycling(dirt bike) in one day and it felt weird...
  8. Wow. I did not know we had a face-lift with some botox injection. Nevertheless, it's absolutely gorgeous.
  9. Actually, this brought me flashbacks to my carving days on those Madd 158 I got. I can actually see the mesmerizing grooming lines on the slope as I haul ass and just simply be one with the board as in zen. But galaxy? Oh my, that's out of this world and I totally dig it.
  10. Hey dude!! Could you send me an email, pronto? We need to talk and catch up! Miss you, buddy. Lee
  11. Seriously, if you're that worried about the board/skis being stolen, it's strongly recommend you to skip lunch (hint: good breakfast), take a bathroom break with partner monitoring equipment, etc... and afterwards, if bar-scene on the mountain is your thing, put 'em up in your Thule. Otherwise, by all means, go for it with bicycle lock or valet lock, etc... I do like the idea of torx based screws. I can say Bomber -already- have torx based screws which I like very much so. :) PS a short story - a dear ski racer friend of mine from deep south NM once shared a story about Mammoth Mountain and notorious thefts from LA (from that direction anyways)... she would make sure she put one of her ski on one rack and another ski on another rack. Because the thieves were kinda clever -- they would come in and steal the _ENTIRE_ rack of skis and load 'em up in the cargo truck/van. As they drive out back to LA direction, they would toss out skis they deem "no good" out on the side of the highway. It did happened to her at one point, and she laughed because as she went home from Mammoth, she spotted one of her skis on the side of the highway and went onwards home beaming with a clever smile. :)
  12. Newp - she's deaf and a skier. I'm a skier since I somewhat retired from alpine snowboarding, however I use UPZ boots exclusively for skiing. :)
  13. Well, I just saw a thread of Jim Callen and Angie (congratulations!) being proposed to be mawwied... and it served me a reminder. I forgot to chime in to the carving community here that we got married on Vail mountain a week ago. Just wanted to notify the local CO community as well as others (like utahdeafcarver or willgarrow or bordy or etc) that I have not forgotten ya'll (yes, i still have your cell phone numbahs) albeit the marriage...
  14. Dayum. I haven't taken out my Madd 158 in a very long time (5 years or so?). Gonna have to crank 'em out now that I'm stuck on the East Coast for a spell. >.<
  15. Try Eliminator shin guard pads. I speak from experience.
  16. Hey dude. About 4 years from now. :) Helmet... -chuckle- sometimes. Academia... a nightmare coming alive and eating me! lol Yeah, let's do that... you're still living in CO? More likely I'll be going to CO for xmas break.
  17. Wow. I remember bomberonline from the yesteryears... way before this current format forum was established. I just wanted to say I'm proud to be a member of this forum for a very long time as well as personally visiting the Bomber posse as well as partying with them once. :) You guys rock, truly. Yes, I may not hardboot much these days, but I -STILL- use my hardboot UPZ for skiing so I'm qualified. :p Just a simple nod and gratitude is expressed towards to the Bomber posse as well as the entire crew that "makes" this forum a pleasant place to hang out in. I may be so far away from home (NYS at the moment) but I'm gonna be back before you know it! :)

    Paypal scam?

A bit sidetrack remark -- I've participated in #OpPayPal and I have closed my account with PayPal. Mostly out of political and ethical practise of theirs, I question. As for the scammer, I'm truly GLAD you got suspicious. An acquaintance of mine out in Vail got really screwed BADLY by several thousands of dollars when he placed an ad for his motorcycle on uh... ebay, I think. Yeah, it has to be ebay. Poor fellow. He was extremely upset about it for quite some time.
  19. As a 15 years local of S'thorne/Vail, I personally would vouch for what @JimCallen and @Michelle said. For that time of the year, have you consider a smaller ski resort if you're interested in less crowd experience? If yes, take a look into Wolf Creek. :D Otherwise, Snowmass/Buttermilk as well as The Beav/Arrowhead (it ain't called Arrowhead these days, aren't they?) would be good, as well.
  20. Nice ride, man! Happy birthday, ese!
  21. Happy birthday, Bruce! If anyone knows, when is uh... that Donek dude as well as Fin of Bomber -- what's their birthday? If mum's the word, happy early/belated birthday to you. Hell, happy early/belated birthday to EVERYONE! :)
  22. Well, I can tell ya I love me Madd 158 and ain't gonna let it go any time soon.
  23. Aw you cheeky bastard. I actually fell for it. Sheesh. :p
  24. I am a snowmaker and a groomer. As a snowmaker, we strive not to use snowmobile at any time during operating hours, considering what happened few years ago. (Google it up) As a groomer, we do groom during operating hours and we _do_ get nervous. So we groom few runs -ahead- of others. And then we head back to park our cat around noon. The skiers love to go ski on the fresh groom we just made. However, I have seen some ... [censored] skier ski way too close to the snow cat to inquire the guy in charge. I know the guy's facial expression very well, and it's clearly (to me) he's beyond aggravated, because skiers are supposed to stay _AWAY_ from the cats. -sigh-
  25. Yah, I just saw a video from England with a raw footage of the tsunami from bird's eye... omg. I'm feelin' for those Japanese folks who got caught in a tsunami, man. I could see some vehicles were "moving" as if they didn't know a tsunami was coming from behind at a very fast pace. -shudder-
