  1. I had already planned a few days in NC en route to DC this July...my trailer is going to be distinctively gay for the trip now....
  2. Me, too, but then I started worrying about our Kiwi and Aussie friends falling off, unless, of course, our northo-centric chauvinism is wrong and we are the ones upside down...
  3. I'm trying to decide.... http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=45427 the references to "True Christian" with a trademark are making me think it's satire... the whole forum is here.... http://www.landoverbaptist.net/?

    Fyi.....

And they say Canadians aren't violent...sheesh! I killed a cow with my Expedition in 2004...I am, apparently, a one woman wrecking crew...

    Fyi.....

I've gotten both a phone call and an email from my insurance company about the fact that they may "total" the car, mainly because it has over 100K miles on it-believe me, in TX, that's easy to do. My ER job is 112 miles round trip, my Pasadena job is 90 miles round trip....I'm seriously thinking of changing the insurance coverage on both my vehicles that have over 100k mileage to liability only and my 44 year old Ford to liability only, as well (it only has 49K miles on the odometer, I've owned it for 20 years so I know that's accurate) Opinions? My Expedition "blue-books" for $4700. The BMW "blue-books" for anywhere from $20K-$24K....the 'Stang is another story, but I know from previous accidents involving Mustangs that the insurance company looks at Fords as Fords only, no emotional appeal considered...
  6. This May 20, there will be an annular eclipse occurring across the SW US. The eclipse will end in sunset here in TX. The estimation is that 94% of the solar disc will be covered by the moon-so the net effect to observers will be a donut hole sun or "black hole" sun. I think it will be a cool photography target. My question is, how much, if any, filtering will we have to do to photograph this with a digital SLR? For the May 1994 annual eclipse, I purchased a C5 from Celestron. I will have it when we drive to Lubbock for the May 2012 eclipse. I also purchased a Hydrogen alpha filtered dedicated solar telescope for this event to catch a stray prominence during the event. If anyone is or planning to be in the area, PM me if you are interested in this event watching...

There's a dead deer on the side of FM 3346 for all interested...I killed it with my BMW on the way to work yesterday....
  9. Okay, I did not ask for measurements, feel free to experiment... Peach vodka a dash of peach schnapps Cranberry juice "splash" of lime Club soda I went for Vodka, 1 1/2 jiggers, schnapps, 1/2 oz., a "splash" of lime that is identical to my "splash" of lime I use for hurricanes(namely, the capful of the concentrate), cranberry juice 1 1/2 jiggers, and soda 1 1/2 jiggers.... first experiment went well, I may get a second experiment in before hubby arrives from work;)
  10. Did the board cause your spill? How about the extremely poor amount of snow WP has received this year with the warm sunny days and icy nights of the last 3 weeks?
  11. I ordered my BMW 5 series with the skibag option. It works well with 3 pairs of skis-essentially, the backseat center console has a recessed bag attachment that creates a pouch continuous with the trunk-I've gotten my 183 cm skate skis in with lots of room to spare. How it works for multiple snowboards I can't tell.
  12. That was going to be my last option-I was hoping to read more than one recipe here... I will call on Thursday (not open 'til then, it's a mountain town) and post here
  13. When we were up in Colorado over spring break, we went to a local steak house in Grand Lake, where our cabin is. They had a cocktail called an "Alpenglow". The only recipe I've found online calls for bourbon, but I'm pretty sure the one at the steak house was vodka based. Anyone heard of this and, more specifically, have the recipe???
  14. I got Michelin PS 2s for my BMW 18 months ago to replace Goodyear Eagles. The Michelins have far less road noise and have lasted far longer. Performance is great...
  15. Got some in the beerator now...with chunks of fresh pineapple marinating in it. Capital Grille calls them Stoli Doli's but they taste wretched with Stoli's.... Austin's finest....
  16. "by the powers of ullr and steve jobs"...... I can't help but wonder if this isn't a tad too blaspheming......I'd make a quick offering to assure Ullr you aren't equating him with a master capitalist....
  17. That's the way to do it...my husband got on the AIA site and has 12 pages of architectural listings in Denver. Our time frame for moving to Boulder is in the next year or two. I'm a doc and, with the massive shortage of primary care providers everywhere, don't anticipate any problems on my part. Although I'd rather live in the sticks...like Granby...
  18. When I was an active duty AF doc, we used the tuning fork trick against the tibia to figure out who had stress fractures instead of shin splints and who didn't...the middle C one works best...it's not just Beckmann.... If it's a lateral shin pain, it may just be muscular strain from the anterior tibialis muscle-that muscle lifts the foot. You may be constantly lifting the foot against the boot whilst turning and what you are actually feeling is a "bonk" or severe lactic acid buildup...
  19. Have you contacted any recruiting agencies? or googled job opportunity postings in that position in Denver? What's her area of expertise?
  20. ...even the video trailer ain't available! maybe Hulu...
  21. Does the CBC stream their content online?-some of us are not within their broadcast signal....
  22. That's too bad....I wondered if that was the case when I got the email from Heavenly about skiing Kirkwood on their season pass. I had hoped it was just a marketing agreement, tho....
  23. I agree completely with this quote-snowblades are extremely manueverable without poles, great for use with kids and are compatible with hard boots. If you are just tooling around on the greenies with the kiddos, you can't beat having an alpine setup with a pair of snowblades for use when needed
  24. Have him take a lesson, please.....not only will the instructor be able to give him the latest training technique, but will know how to properly correct faults with his current technique. Last week, my daughter wanted another lesson. I watched the first few minutes she took with the instructor and what he stressed to her was radically different than what I was told in lessons 10 years ago
  25. If you are also open for restaurant suggestions, we like to go to Toscana Italian Bistro off of I-15 in Sandy. I think it is exit 292
