    Yo Lci!!

A few token photos I have been delinquent in posting: Board porn from the Summit Invasion Entrance to Drifter from one of those cold a$$ days late Dec./early Jan.

    Yo Lci!!

Crusty Butt was good. Warm and very firm on the days that we rode. Rode a few "blue runs" that were steeper than the blacks we were riding at Copper Mtn. Saw this guy in the canyon near Cotopaxi on the drive up. Like a dumb arse, I left my good camera at work. Saw three other bald eagles and one golden eagle on the remainder of the drive. The view during the days: This was the sunset every evening:
  4. x2, make sure he adds flex additive to the paint!!!!! otherwise is will crack and start to flake the first time the board in flexed
  5. Here is my post to which I believe you are referring. One update - I didn't have to machine the alignment groove in the blocks for Shelly's FreeCarve bindings, but I have to machine the groove in the blocks for the Titanflex bindings.
  6. Could not have said it any better Sadly there are some days where I only ride for 2 hours or so (round trip commute is 3 hours or more). I'd rather head home than risk it.

Now that you say that, so was Mario. <a href="http://s171.photobucket.com/albums/u315/dturnquist/emoticons/?action=view&current=puke.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u315/dturnquist/emoticons/puke.gif" border="0" alt="puke"></a> I had to keep sticking my head out the side of the gondola to get some fresh air. Tell you what, next time Mario is rippin' em, if you can survive one chair ride up with the bigman, without dieing, you're in.
  8. you will get more responses from people to ride with if you cross-post this thread on the CO ride board. ;)

    Yo Lci!!

What Mario forgot to mention was that if you wanted to be part of the cool crowd yesterday, you had to be on a HOT Blast with TD2's and yellow e-rings!
  10. thinking about it a little more... Mario cranked turns for years on his 179FCII, Inkaholic now has the board. (this is the one you rode) I was was able to crank turns on my 179FCI, only issues I had were on bulletproof ice. The Donek FC 179's have a 11.2m SCR which is comparable to the Silberpfeil. The FCI has a slightly narrower waist width, the FCII is slightly wider which may work better for your big feet. If you haven't already ridden one, get on a Donek FC!!!
  11. I weigh 210#. At your weight and considering how much as you cycle, I believe it's very likely that you could/would overpower the board. If you are looking for a mellow cruiser, then it would work great. It took Bola slapping me upside the head to realize I was outriding the board. An FCI/FCII have similar specs and would be a better option (speaking from my and Mario's experience).
  12. AA - have you ridden a Silberpfeil before? If so, disregard my comment. I have a 172 and found it to be too soft.
  13. That's a good place to start, but width also depends on the amount of toe/heel lift you use. Using the above equation, my stance width should be ~18.5". I ride with a 6* gas pedal up front and 3* heel lift in back; bindings are set at ~19.75". As far as binding angles, I prefer as square as possible without having any overhang. This way I am pressuring the edge as much as possible. It's all personal preference. Don't be afraid to to tinker and adjust.
  14. If someone else wants them, don't wait on me to make a decision. :)
  15. Interest, but concerned that they might not have enough floatation. How did they work for you? Do you think they would work for someone geared up at ~230lbs?
  16. If you have enough edge and base material left, take the board to a reputable shop. Have them base grind the board - this will take the base edge back to 0*. Have them put a 1* grind on the side edge. Take the board home and hand tune it to 1*/2*. If you don't have enough edge/base left, you are SOL.

    Yo Lci!!

Mario and I will be there for sure; PCDenver, Ink and KarverKai are probables.

    Donek and Reto Lamm

I think the combination of length and stiffness would make this board not very friendly for a 140lb rider. If the board was softer, and you were riding on relatively wide runs, 186cm would not be an issue.
  19. heeeeeeeey maaannnnnn, what time? If Ink's not riding with, I'll drive.
