  1. For any that are interested, 8:30 am waterton canyon trailhead. This is about the only trail on the front range with an actual warm up, a 6 mile dirtroad jaunt to the beginning of the colorado trail. The ride is not overly technical and is a good place to learn how to do switch backs, and the ride out of roxboro is very fun and has a few surprises to keep you on your toes. C-470 to wadsworth, wadsworth south til right before martin marietta, make a left and a left and you're there. three oh three two one oh nine seven four two mario
  2. A big rig with beer taps sticking out the side at a street fair in my neighborhood, almost made me do a homer, but service was quick. The only quaffable brew was a Widmer hefe. The looked at me like I was a freak when I asked for a lemon however. mario
  3. Not Vail, but Ajax in Aspen for the next weekend or so. mario
  4. Ken just got himself in a jam and couldn't find a way out, he seemed genuinly contrite, and a bit embarrassed. glad to have been of assistance, mario
  5. D.t, myself and at least one other are meeting sunday morning at the elk meadow lot off of evergreen parkway at 9am sunday if any one is interested in doing a reaaallllllllllllyyyyyy looooooooooonnnnnnngggggg attempt a summiting bergan peak by bicycle. mario
  6. While I was still swinging a hammer, I really enjoyed festering splinters, espescially when you found the perfect place to push and they would squirt right out. I am however, easily amused. mario
  7. I could be persuaded, what time are ya thinking? Bergan peak death march?:p mario
  8. Do like I do, and remove it, or use some bungee cords! mario
  9. Don't you mean pushing/panting/puking shoe?
  10. Bluebird and mario endo's, minor fleshwounds Ac did the mtb equivlent of going to the top of Ruthies for the first time in hardboots and surviving. Derek was the only one that didn't leave a lung on the trail. life is good. mario
  11. directionally challanged, my first sentance in the directions should have read: Coming from the west...so if your heading towards Red Rocks, turn around and head the other way.... now back to our regularly scheduled programing mario
  12. Well it's still riding, just on a different conveyence. Sunday 9:00am at apex, from I-70 west, morrison exit, left at the light for about a mile or so, past the lafarge gravel plant. There will be a left turn lane for heretige square, turn here. There are 2 parking lots, go to the lower lot, there will be signs for the casino buses. Park at the far end of the lot, the northwest corner. see you there!

  14. see you at 9 sunday morning, I'm thinking apex will be a much better ride. Directions: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?p=199729#post199729 mario
  15. You have more shoe options and you don't have to worry about falling on your a$$ when you put your foot down at a light. Check preformance bikes for helmets, shoes and pedals, there are deals to be had, but support your LBS for your bike purchase. I second the redline, great entry level bikes reasonably priced. Upgrade to discs if you are going to ride any steeper stuff offroad, much easier to stop and you dont have to worry about heating up the rims and popping a tube mario
  16. xt/100mm marzocchi equiped 18/19" supergo access hardtail mit um thudbuster seatpost and time pedals if the bonti don't work. Barb, you are welcome any time, let us know mario
  17. Just keep us updated and we will get it figured out! We tend stick to general trail riding with some technical/rolling trials do that section over till you make it or strike out goof off type riding. Sometimes there is blood, mostly mine. mario
  18. I just loaded the first BAD album onto my zune and am listening to it as I type. Only liked the first two, not a fan of the later tripe. And yes, I am a huge clash fan
  19. That's about what I weighed when I was your age... I second what Ink and Gecko said about getting a custom set built up. I really like mavic rims, and though I am talking about mountain stuff, I think the durability holds across the board. The 519's on the Heckler were built by my local bike shop, years ago and they are still rollin' round and true, and we know that I definately aint no petite flower, though I still like to think of myself as one. I have also had good luck right around the corner from Bola at excel sports, They built another set of 519's for me back in aught 2 that are doing just fine on my hardtail. They had been on my Blur prior to me splodin' that frame, so they saw a fair amount of abuse. Check out Colorado cyclist down in the springs, since you are down there every day any way. I like Hugi and Chris King hubs, though the Kings might be a little heavy. Rode the Heckler tonight, it was gooood. lets ride mario ps I bunny hop @ 235lbs, I know how to abuse wheels, shocks, frames.....
  20. Looking foward to riding with the master of flow next winter!

  22. Anti inflamatory of your choice and ice mario
  23. I was making turns with you at lovey last weekend after talking about it since SES 07 while you were limping around with that stupid fibula, and less than a week later you are having brain surgery.:( When you get out of this, let me know, and I will try my hand at that cold smoked steak ( your choice of cut!) that we talked about in aspen. Good luck, heal well, and heal quickly my friend! mario
