  1. If he teaches for the Beev you could get in touch directly through the ski school. :)
  2. Damn, I'm working . I'd be fun to ride with you again. Should be great. We're going to try for Wed. 28th. Lay the 2 turns out at the bottom of Sugar House for me! It may be flat, but it's still sliding!
  3. Nope, just meant that it's already $300+ with 8+ days left. So I'm sure it'll get much higher. :(
  4. This thing's already getting stupid, over $300 last night! I wonder if Bruce would still build one of theirs. If so, that would be the better buy, considering where this one's going. And you'd get to choose flex, etc.
  5. WHAT!! Are they going Chinese too?! Say it ain't so
  6. Just limited to riding 65* + on a regular alpine board & the plates are a little longer than the short Cateks. I think the OS2 may be my ticket to swap between the Monocarver & my regular sticks.
  7. Dalbello Carvex or CRX series was the skiboot version of the Blax, now Head hardboots. There should be some used ones floating around. Jack's suggestion of old Raichle Flexons, now redesigned (better range of fit & flex) as Dalbello Kryptons. Try 'em on if you can, I fit in a 28 shell in most boots, but my old Raichle 325's are 27 shells. The key is a flex that's comfortable, w/o being mushy. Good luck, & welcome to the Wonderful World of Trenchin'
  8. I was looking for those too! I emailed Jeff for dimensions, didn't get back to me yet. I'm measuring my Volkl Monocarver as soon as I get home.
  9. Scott, Lowell, of course, is a great resource, the best! He would also be able to get you a list of Instructors that have hard boots. If you're looking for examples of great teaching, Lowell & the Vail Empire excellent places to look. They have one of the premier snowsports programs in the U.S. If your focus is on teaching styles don't limit yourself to hardboot only, they have fantastic instructors/coaches/supervisors that have never been near Plates, but could share a wealth of info on maximizing your potential, getting to your goals. If your compiling a tips list, very cool! There is no single magic pill that works for everyone. The best instructor/coaches work together with their students to set attainable goals depending on motivation, skills, conditions, equipment, etc. BTW your site rocks! The new features are terrific. If you ever travel through the flatlands of Ohio, western NY/PA, let me know, I'd like to ride with you. Mario
  10. Matt, Did you get my emails? Wondering if they're getting through. Seems mikemcse isn't getting through either, he emailed me wondering if I'd heard anything. Let us know. Thanks, Mario
  11. Hey dev, I have several: 2 7degree round style & 1 of the older rectagu/oval style also looks to be ~ 6-7 degree. The oval comes with both 4 & 3 hole center inserts. All are new, the round ones still in pkging. They're priced on ebay/here for ~$25. Is $20 for any one em fair? Figure out cheapest way to ship to Can. If you need more than one we'll figure something out, just email me.
  12. I'll take one. Which graphic are they? Sending email Thanks :)
  13. If you want to visit the updated school you may want to checkout the new Dalbello Krypton. I just tried a pair on locally last week. They took the old Flexons & modernized em, much more comfy too! Flexons were one of the few boots that just did not fit my feet , they were the best back when us Dinos roamed the Cord.
  14. I may have some, I'll check when I get home tonight.
  15. PC, I too have boots that might work, if your interested. A pair of Raichles size 23 mondo, 5-6 US Mens. My wife used em a few times, but wound up needing 24's. $35 + shipping, need to clear out the basement! :D
  16. I've been looking for a pair of these in a sz.28 for a while, oh well! They were made by Dalbello ~ 4yrs ago for Line, based off their CRX series. The cool thing about em is the forward lean is quickly/infinately adjustable with that thumb wheel on the back of the cuff, instead of the 5 position on Raichles. It's the same boot as the upper end Blax, just distributed here by Line. Precourser to the current Head Stratos still made by Dalbello with Head label. The Raichle version was distributed by Line later. Hope this blather helps! :D
  17. Burton 5-hole variflex, & maybe some of the old Elfgen/Nitro plates, not sure if they used the same 5-hole pattern. Anybody remember?
  18. Hey Scott, you're not going to put modern bindings (OS2/TD2) on this without T-nutting the base. It has the old 5 -hole pattern that only works with 5-hole variflex. Those things were a blast in their day, I had a PJ6 & 7.
  19. Same here Phil. I got shorties for my wife to ski on while our daughter was learning. She never used em, Nina happily skied in Mom's track, while I skied behind with the tether for speed control. I did find that attaching the tether at boot level was far better than the hip & certainly the chest harnesses. Doesn't pull the CM back, & helps start foot steering. All I did was loop a long tie-down strap at each boot. Worked great around the back foot on her snowboard too! No greater reward than seeing your kid love it! Have fun
  20. You need help setting up your stance. You actually rode it like that?!
