  1. Sounds amazing! But it would be very sad to stuff the nose on a 2 titanal layer board. The stuff is great for torsional rigidity/dampness, love it in my Volkl skis & boards, but one mishap & it's all over. :( I still remember years ago, guys coming into the shop with bent Volkl or Blizzard GS skis: I was just sking, no moguls, it just bent! Riiiiight!!
  2. Peter thats the exact mod I had pictured for mine, looks sweet . Just wondering if it'd be riskier with my 240 lbs of goo! :(

    pj 7 ???

What Bob said is right on. Also, if you're looking at the one on Ebay, it's a mess. The base is baddly bubbled from some genius using overlength screws, base & edges badly gouged. This is one to avoid, unless you have nothing but time & access to some major tuning machines FP's are definetly the better more modern stick. PJ's were fun, it would be fun for retro flashback,...que the Waynes World theme...me on the 'ol green tail PJ7 in full neon.
  4. NMU wondering if you rode Intecs or toe clips? Regular bindings may provide enough lateral roll to absorb some of the force. Especially the soft soles on the SB series Raichles. Might hurt, but not break. Whatchall think?
  5. Just a thought...since you think your Ducks are too stiff, try your plates/hardboots at moderate angles on your freeride board. I think you likey ;) .
  6. I can send you pics if you like.
  7. Then definately skip the drive to Aspen, nice as it is, nothing there that you can't find closer. Loveland is fun too, you can stop & do a half day on your way up. I would absolutely spend a day on the Magic Carpet of Beaver Creek. Get there early too, the Ladeedas like to sleep in , more Cord for you. ;) Enjoy!
  8. The Beav is definately worth the xtra hour drive from Breck, Keysone, Copper. Beaver Creek also limits ticket sales, ala Deer Valley, so it should not be as crowded on the weekend. Better known than when I was there 14 years ago, but most of the lemmings still rather visit Vail. Man they really know how to put down carpet! Like Dan said, if you have time & money, do the loop.
  9. Hi, That's an awesome board for them. My wife started with the older version of that. I have my wife's previous boots & bindings that would be cheap & work great. Boots are 25.5-26.0 mondo size Burton reactors, she wears a womens 81/2 - 9 shoe & they were very comfy. They've been ridden about 20 days, nice cond. Also have snowpro bindings to go with them. Get 'em all out of our basement for $75 + shipping, probably about $15 - 20, depending on where in the US you live. Email me if you're interested. Mario
  10. A more moderate set up makes more sense. Jasey reminds me of David? Dowd back at the dawn of SBX over 10years ago. He was riding a skinny Aggression Stealth asym with Flexon boots. When he got the hole shot, he was gone... when he got tangled in traffic he was done.
  11. He's rippin it up! @ Beaver Mtn? We're coming out in the Spring to play @ Snowbasin/Powder Mtn. I was checking out the smaller local places too. Look interesting! Any thoughts on Beaver vs Wolf? :o Tics are VERY cheap @ Wolf, any good? Can't wait til our daughter's tearing it up like that, she's linking turns this year @ 4 1/2 . Her 3rd season playing on a board, 4th on skis. She trenches on 2 planks, very shallow ones! :D
  12. What about a cheap flight from Bahstin to Chicago & then take Amtrak from Chitown? Might be cheap & cuts the train time/2
  13. The 28.5 liner is the same as the 28.0, just has a slightly thinner insole. You should get a custom insole anyway or just put a layer of card board or bontex under the stock one if you need to.
  14. Forget the skis, just get a cheap 170ish freeride/ freestyle board, slap your plates on & have a HOOT!!

    Nice Site

Was that race stock 181 pretty stiff? I had a regular 181, 10ish yrs. ago. It was pretty soft, even though I was 40 lbs. lighter. :o
  16. Oooohhhh! They must ride on their heads!
  17. I have some at home, new, not sure what angle. Will check when I get home & email you.
  18. I'm usually there Wed. mornings with my daughter. :)
  19. NO!,... but I do anyway!

    Look

I've got a 180 Overspeed sitting in the basement. It was like driving a bus! The "easy grab" scared the cr*p out a me! The ridiculously convex base was like trying to snowboard on a sledding saucer. No edge catch rail slides, way ahead of its time.
  21. What Phil said in his first post, & Sean in the last . Pressure on ice needs to be directed down into the ice for the board to grip. A lateral pressure component on ice will tend to cause the board to go in that direction, hence the sideways skid, loss of line. Of course tune, board etc. play a role.
