  1. Well said and have fun on the new kessler
  2. AAhhh grasshopper since we were both not there we can only form an opinion on the incident. Opinions should be considered grey, never black and white, i am right you are wrong. Coming from what some people would consider a rough background and working in the trades,i tend to gravitate towards taking care of myself and not running to the nearest authority every time someone slights me. Right or wrong thats just me and can see the humor showing that group of patrollers just what carving is all about and gettin alittle revenge.
  3. Interesting king. You can read it like that it was a patroller that caused him to lose control and crash while carveing. Hmmmmm now there is irony for you . Initially read it as some random "gaper" out to get his jollys ***** people up trying to scare them as they go by. If the situation warrants getting the authorities into play by all means that is what you should do. Patrollers have more important duties to do like taking care of the poor smuck that lost the battle with a tree. Knowing the few patrollers that i do they would find his reaction to being made to take a sled run quite funny.
  4. Think of coloradoking as karma police. the guy was just fooling around, but could of caused a serious injury. he just taught him an important lesson in life that you pay for your actions. THe guy should consider himself lucky he didn't run into someone that taught him what it was like to have an operation to remove a whistle from his nasal passage
  5. Seriously, bend your knees!!!! lol Have fun with the current setup but remember that its not just forward lean but having the right amount of flex in the boot that allows you bend your knees and stay centered. Both these setups were modified for the right amount of flexion in the boots.
  6. Sort of what i did for my splitboard here??? If this is what your gunnin for boardski you'll love it in split mode.
  7. Im bare foot,in my jockeys and wearing a ratty bathrobe right now. Wonder whats happening on As the World turns.......Screw it. Im going to blow off everything today and go up to the hill. They just got a 47 cm dump and nobody is up there on a fri this late in the season.
  8. Not to mention the fact that he had enough time to soil his panties about three times on the way down:eek:
  9. Hellrider,It say he lives in ontario. That be a long drive. Totally be worth it though if we we knew he was a thief ,having gotten one too many items tweaked from me.
  10. Our shop has a special powdercoat that glows in the dark. You too can have that extra bling for night skiing!!! ps: Anything customized for your needs i give a thumbs up.Nice photos
  11. I think your best bet is to cut away the damaged section to prevent it from peeling away more for the rest of the race season then have prior splice in a section. If it was flat i would say go for it but being that its curled up like that it will be next to impossible to get it to lay flat and will be a weak spot
  12. I first tried a carveing setup to learn how to ride plates and hardboots on a splitboard and stuck with it. Fact. There has been 14 deaths in the backcountry in BC this year, one witnessed. Thats not very lederhosen like ,is it? Fact. I don't like being refered as a "retard who doesn't wear snowboard boots" in the lift line. I respect people with skills in all aspects of snowboarding. What WE don't respect is immature behavior who have no social skills in public.
  13. Basicly the paid patroler was calling the volley patroler an "idiot" for making such a big deal out of it.Ive been generally left alone this year since i was on a bc course that was put on by two paid patrolers that are high up in the ranks when a class3.5 avi came down inbounds and we were one of the first there doing search and rescue.
  14. Ive had quite a few friends past and present that are volley patrolers and have been doing some backcountry with a few of the paid patrolers on our hill this year, All good people. Was climbing with the split in the trees between the chairs to get some miles in before meeting up with someone on sun when i ran into one of the paid patrolers i do bc with. First thing he asked me is if i was the one busted for skinning up on the side of the runs.Next thing out of his mouth is" ****en cut some slack and get off the ego trip".I have never had a problem with a paid patroler and if i get busted by one of them i know i'm in the wrong. That said though i hear from these people that there are a few on the volley who abuse their power. The best thing you can do is question their decision with someone who actually knows what they're talking about, ex" can i carve on a run?"If they find out he's making decisions like that out there you can bet he'll be weeded out next year or at least be slapped down.
  15. If your all crafty you can try tapering part of the die spring to give it a softer flex.If your really crafty try making a rectangle crossectionanal varible pitch die spring. hmmm sounds like a neet project any takers???
  16. Fractured sternum with a dislocated clavicle and that s*** was evil, compare it to getting hit by a car..... hey wait a min.If the doc says you can still ride go for it ,but don't let anybody push you past your pain threshhold to be a man.i worked three days because the doctors said it was only bruised until the swelling started to go down and i could tell my chest was all f***ed up
  17. Id kill for a run like that, and the straitline at the end would get anyones heartrate up. The home hill goes from alpine to a dense mess in no time....nothing that a bit of prudent pruning with the helmet wont fix though.
  18. This is heresay but a classmate of mine who has both the board and skis says and i quote"More clingy than my old girlfriend".hmmmmmmm, I wonder what thats suppose to meen???
  19. Just measured it and the nose is 24.5,waist 18.5,tail 23.Not sure what the scr is but its around 8.5m. lots of camber, the edges and base are good to go. Lets make a deal!! You can contact me at vaporbliss2@hotmail.com if your interested john
  20. Hi Chris . I have a volkl 153 cm sl with an 18.5 waist. I think your wife would like it alot.
  21. We are very close to stats 5 9 155(at fighting form)mondo 25 boots. I use to ride with my rear foot in walk, where you've been locked in. Being that you were not in walk i think that you'll be happy with the blues .I myself run blue on the top and red on the bottem with the top nut compressing about a quarter of an inch.
  22. Its actually centered on a 158 freeride that i use for the trees in this area. Seems like the people i ride with are always getting me into hairy situations in the trees. Last week tried some of the new terain at revelstoke thats a couple hours north of here. Think that pitch except 6000 ft and thier longest run is 13.2 km. Needless to say i needed abit more setback lol. thought my front leg was going to shear off.
  23. As it was stated in a previous post that you should make s turns in the steeper pitch stuff instead of just shooting for the gaps. A technique that is helpful in geting the back of the board around is to be slightly compressed at the start of the arc with a majority of your weight on the front foot. Then uncompress your weight your able to bring your back foot around and go from toeside to heelside in a sliding arc that bleeds speed which is half the battle.
