  1. Thank you for answering my questions Mr. Michaud
  2. I discovered the obvious, that banned members aren't to be found on the member list. So who decides? Do the four moderators vote? Appeal process? Genuinely interested in demystifying. Perhaps formerly banned members can advise.
  3. How do you know this? Is there a list? Who decides? What do I have to do to get banned?
  4. I'm with Trailertrash. If your not using the machine............. Not a chance I'm leaving a machine alone if no one is using it. If someone were yelling at me from the other side of the gym to leave it alone while they finished up with the medicine ball or whatever? Maybe one of those belt type machines that vibrates violently about the waist.
  5. Hunter Mountain is where I end up if I can't drive straight through to VT. Last time I was there I woke up from an early morning nap in the parking lot at 8 a.m. Stepping out of my car, an "accented" (Russian?) guy asks me if I want to buy a lift ticket. He'll "make deal" for me, he says. I asked how much (I think window price was $57 for a Sunday a few years ago) and he says $50. I was so annoyed that I snapped out of my sleepy state and, noticing that he had a huge stack to scalp yet, I said "$20 or I go inside and get management to run you out of here." He sold it to me saying "$20 for a$$!o!e". Proud of myself for having so quickly acclimated.
  6. Gecko, I noticed in a posting of yours that you make Mead. My wife is Danish and when we are in Denmark I'm sometimes given a bottle. I thought perhaps you could tell me if it ages well. I'm certain that, at a minimum, what I have is 5 years old. Thanks if you see this.
  7. btw, Tex is right. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  8. I'm pretty certain that the Buzz Lightyear ride is up and running - my wife and daughter rode it while I played with my little 6 month old and watched an amazingly beautiful Chinese (they wear nametags with home country) woman serve the turkey legs that Skategoat referenced. Strange snack indeed. My daughter loved that ride, but I accepted from the outset that, like the Smithsonian, I'd probably see about 1/2 of 1% of the place. I stayed at the Beach Club Villas and saw painters on staff working with the housekeeping crew everyday. Middle-upper level managers walk around with those clamp things used to pick up trash. Most impressed with the cleanliness. Personally I felt that the Aerosmith (formerly Cheap Trick) roller coaster at MGM was superior to space mountain. Same indoor concept but smoother and includes incredible initial acceleration. Also at MGM is a stunt show on a movie set that depicts James Bondesque high speed chase scenes. That is certainly worthwhile if for no other reason than to see pro drivers do what they do. Personal historical retrospections will probably be kind to the place largely because I already wrote all the checks before I left. That, for me, is the first step in remembering a vacation fondly. Ha!
  9. Gotta sweet Litespeed (roadie) I tool around on. Always suspected that my cycling was the reason that I hold up to boarding all day in the winter. Proof positive this past season when I failed to ride much pre-season and suffered accordingly. Lucky not to have been injured. The mind and muscle memory don't always account/compensate for conditioning that has fallen off. I also use a T-board a few times a week (Tierney) - love that thing. Be smooth or get served is my approach to that thing.
  10. took another look at the board and discovered some delam on the nose. that won't cost extra.
  11. CORE SHOT - STRIPPED INSERT, yes this board has it all! F'real, if anyone is interested in a rock board, let me know. It's the board that I learned on and now I've gravitated to much longer boards and don't want to ride it any more. I never went deeper with the one bad insert so presumably with a longer screw one can access the decent threading that remains. Perhaps someone else's stance won't even utilize that insert. It's yellow and stiff and I bought from a guy here on bomber a few years back - Fast Freddy if I recall correctly. Waist is 18. You propose the terms and I'll think about it.
  12. Just returned from Disney in Orlando. Never been there and came away from it happy for my 6 year old. Mind boggling in scale and a study in organization and marketing know-how. The 3-D stuff kills - especially the Bug's life short in AnimalKingdom. That's a must. Epcot''s got something called "Soarin' " that is like an IMAX effect while simulating a hanglider experience over picturesque regions of CA. Definitely not my normal vacation M.O., but nice to do it with my daughter at the most age appropriate time. Couldn't work there though, as I'm unable to maintain an unfailingly positive and happy demeanor at ALL times. Also, seems a little bit "plantation" to me. Just enough to make me uncomfortable. Ask any questions now because in a few days I'll have forgotten most everything - it was that substantive.
  13. No doubt so sophisticated that any future warpage is guaranteed to enhance camber and give the ride ever increasing pop.
  14. My best "day" this year was actually 2 days with my 6 year old daughter at WISP in Western Maryland (only ski hill in Maryland) on a 2 day jaunt. First day a nice gentle snowfall all day that added up nicely, not too windy or cold. Next day, sunny, 30 degrees, few inches of fresh and I watched her really let her natural abilities (she skis) take over. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. We came out of the hotel on the 2nd day when it was sunny and she looked around and insisted we weren't even in the same place. So cute.
  15. Tex, I believe that I saw someone selling an Undertaker on Freecarve.com in February. New and Unmounted 185 if I recall - not sure of current status. Seems Mrs. Tex would be most amenable after all the self sacrifice you endured at Okemo last week. Just sayin'...you know?
  16. Just go away ideologue/censor types. Watch your own word usage and leave the rest of us alone. The pee pee dance people do (hold privates, point at the offender, jump up and down and say "....ooooh oooh") in response to a poor selection of a word or two is tedious. Go design software that omits any language that you feel is offensive.
  17. A question about PTC, which seems to be the concensus for a great tune. Is it it Framingham Mass (googled quickly)? If not that establishment, which is the one so often referred to here. Thanks for any help. May drop off a board as an aside while on Mass Turnpike next week.
  18. I like the 99% comment. They have obviously done the homework. It would appear that at least a control of 100 carvers/hardbooters were observed. One of the 100 made deep trenches (ergo 1%) and for that the other 99 are to be banished.
  19. Suh-weet! I'd be nearly drunk from an experience like that. Almost dreamlike. I'm gonna be at Killington & Okemo at e.o.m begin of April. You?
  20. Sent e.mail to divebomber. Boot tongues I meant to write. Shins are what happen to be hurting at the moment.
  21. Hey Divebomber, a few months back didn't you want to get your hands on some orange Head Stratos Pro shins? I'm sure we had some dialogue along those lines and then nothing came of it. I have two pair and I'll give you a pair if you reply.
  22. No side by side comparison here. I read this post last week and was inspired to go ride my WC 190 yesterday. Edges could have been sharper, and it could have been less windy. Also, the snow was all machine and blown off to expose some white pavement of the hardest variety. Sunny, though no softening effect. Anyway, I 6'5" and almost 220lbs. and this board kills it. Damp in the nicest sense of the word and the board (in my quiver)that requires the least amount of effort and manipulation for the feedback that I get, I have only good things say. Personally, I intuit that it's just perfectly suited to my anatomy/dimensions.
  23. Something of a quandary for me. I can think of numerous golf courses in MD (where I live) in recent years that have "gone public". Formerly country clubs, they have seen dues paying members drop in numbers and posture themselves differently only when forced to do so by financial hardship. I have no desire to pay money to the same people that for so long claimed that they had no need for my money and now suddenly do. I'll reconsider if there were a change in ownership/management. Might seem spiteful, but I see it as principled. This has nothing to do with "diversity" or "inclusiveness" or any other p.c. buzzword/euphemism. They no more want snowboarders than they ever have before. They want more $ and less pr problems. Stockholder driven?, $$$$ driven, marketing? Whatever.
  24. 170 is a bit short for me but I couldn't help but notice the kid's college fund in the background. Nice.
