  1. Does it have to be a whole month Ace? I've got family with a place near Winter Park (1/2 hour). I've been thinking about trying to weasle a couple of weeks in Feb. Pretty certain Granby is the township. All very tentative at the moment. Do you want the place all to yourself? How many in your party? and so on.......
  2. Saw the 168 and 168 wide at levelninesports site for $200. $220 for the wide. No motive here except to pass on info. Seems like a good price for a well regarded board. I want to but I can't.
  3. Nice work - when you watch an episode of COPS, someone is always shirtless. Usually the Perp, but this is a nice twist.
  4. Whaaaaaaaat! Come on, what do you all really think it is. Thanks for the replies. While my health insurance is still a known quantity I'll start the ball rolling. I'll follow up when some diagnostics reveal something. All the vertical footage I've covered in CO over the years without incident and my knee falls victim to horseplay with my little bruiser nephew. That part makes me laugh. Thanks again.
  5. Congratulations Bordy! You're living life's greatest moments as we speak. Crazy thing is, the feeling doesn't leave you ( maybe when they are teenagers it does, I'm not there yet). All the best to all of you.
  6. Bomber is as good as any doctor, right? Anyway, I was in Denver a few weeks ago (first summer trip in 18 CO visits - go figure) visiting in-laws and hurt my knee while playing with my kids and their cousins. I was in a low squat position, eye to eye with my baby, when my nephew jumped on my back. I started to tilt back and in catching myself I bounced a bit, so to speak, and felt a twinge directly under the center of the knee cap. I've had plenty of injuries and malladies but fortunately my knees have been good to me. I guess based on how it happened, I hyperextended it? The symptoms that persist are twinges in the same area as previously described provoked by certain angles when the knee is flexed. Also, laterally it doesn't feel quite right in a way that's tough to describe. Not so much painful as weak/limited. No swelling that's visible. I'm still riding my bike and swimming, but gently. Keeping it moving. So I don't start to ramble, I'll stop here.
  7. There was a clip on YouTube awhile back showing a Veyron all broken up. I think it was in England. Streets are always wet, right?
  8. Craigslist (VT) shows a Burton Backhill from about 1985 +/-. Seller wants $250 o.b.o. Isn't that low? I wouldn't know.
  9. BobD, Bodum (brand name) makes a countertop appliance that boils water very quickly. It's a Danish product but available wired for the American market.
  10. Never been there. I'm always looking for New England spots I've not seen before. Is it unpretentious like the site claims? Love going someplace like Bromley one day and Killington the next. Mix it up.
  11. I have experience with a Neuroma (Morton's). A few years ago I had surgery on my left foot (I'm regular) and the incision was near the base of the third toe, on the top of the foot. Intense pinching sensations made worse by unpredictability. That's how I remember it. I'd gone the route of several cortisone shots before deciding to have the surgery and now with the benefit of hindsight, I'd skip the shots were I to do it over. After surgery, I experienced sensations that very closely resembled those that sent me to the doctor in the first place. They subsided after a couple of months. No loss of motor function or temp sensitivity/feeling. I always theorized that I developed the Neuroma due to the straps on old soft bindings and what I'd do to my feet to work the board. Things were awful. Hope things work out as well for you.
  12. allergies, maybe. or do you have a fever? in addition to gargling, irrigate the sinuses perhaps.
  13. Aside from sound fundamentals perhaps include something about the fact that snowboarding is not saving the world and can easily be taken too seriously.
  14. Thanks for responses BB & QQ. Dave or Phil, can you tell me about your experience with big boots and TD's. Lemme know as I am thinking about another set of bindings and would be interested in trying a set of Bombers provided I can determine that they'll work for me.
  15. Boris, I've been wanting to try TD's (2 or 3) but have never been sure if they'd accomodate my big feet. I originally bought Catek's when I first tried hardboots at the suggestion of those in the know. Long Plates, of course. Anyway, I measured a full 10 inches minimum from center of intec heel pin (engaged) to front, inner toe bail (boot engaged). Head Stratos Pro 31.5. Any idea if they adjust to such a length? Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd rather determine that I'm precluded this way than to buy them and go through returns, etc. For everyone's sake. Thanks.
  16. I have some Catek long plates and have never ridden anything else w/hardboots. I'm only able to say good things about Catek w/regard to my own experience. That said, I'm reluctant to do business with them after all the recent chatter. I was thinking about taking Allee's advice and buying/trying Bomber's next go around. To the point: my boot size is 31.5 (Head Stratos) and I use Intec heels. If memory serves me correctly, when I originally investigated Alpine gear for myself, Catek's long plates may have been the only binding that would accomodate my boot. Anyone know if TD's will work for me?
  17. I've shown this video to more people at random than any other, ever. Thanks so much, it's beautiful.
  18. If one uses a preparer and is subsequently audited, is there any benefit to having used a preparer? i.e., an extra degree removed, so to speak. I guess if you've signed it, you've signed it. BTW, 04/15 is also my anniversary - helps me remember.
  19. I've got two girls and literally felt sick to my stomach as I read this. I'm mostly agnostic but guys like your son and the abuser make me think deeply about the concept of good vs. evil. Respectively, of course. Like the others, I'd like to thank your son for whatever he did to the guy that went beyond defending himself. Sounds like he really channelled it nicely. Any updates that you can provide in the future would be of interest.
  20. just e.mailed you. sorry for delay, just been working and I have little kids.
  21. Cruisin', a/k/a Ginsu, Sorry just getting back to you. I don't know if I'm first or second in line. Whichever, my offer to pay "reasonable" shipping still stands. Only going by my own experience, but the range has normally been +/- $20.00. Anyway, if $75.00 total will suffice ($50 +$25) then I'll pay it. To be clear, I'm not trying to leapfrog anyone that made an offer before me. The other offer (Powdahbonz) didn't include additional monies for shipping as you'd requested. Some duplicity in your threads at first also made me unsure who'd offered first. All respect to Powdahbonz! THANKS. DAVE (p.s. haven't had e.mail access for 48 hours. sorry)
