  1. I will be in Western Pa during week btween xmas and new years and hope to get at least one day in. I will post what day(s) I will be around. Any discounts going on that week anyone know of? Greg
  2. Blue Mountain Opens this Friday at 8:30am. Welcome to the new season folks!!
  3. Not sure if TJ Maxx is a national chain but, I picked up 3 pair of Under Armor Mitts this week for $9.99 a pair. while they certainly wont live up to carving damage, they seemed to be constructed similar to most any other mitt I have ridden. For $10 how can you beat it. It's better than droppin' $30 for similar pair.
  4. Folks Looking for anyone out there who wears the Giro Remedy helmet. Looking to add a spare helmet, but all I have a Salomon Cross Max. Just wondering how accurate the sizing is. Checking on line charts, the charts indicate I should wear a medium. I would never think my big mutton head would fit in a medium. My shaved head measures 22.25 inches. Plus depending on insulation of helmet I may have thin skullcap for cold days. Let me know if you have a remedy and how it fits fo you based on size chart and your actual head size. Thx Greg
  5. Doing the Allentown Pa event on April 9, 2011 and considering the Goruck Challenge prior to that race. Go for It, you only live once.
  6. Folks I formed a team (Muddy Dearests)to run the Tough Mudder Race in April 2011. While the day expects to be a quite messy 8 mile, obstacle course. The Dearest are seeking any contributions to help the Wounded Warrior Project. Each team member has committed to raising $150. Here are some links to better offer what its all about. If you want to join us for the race, just let me know and we can get you registered to run with us. The earlier, the cheaper on entry fees and you don't have to commit to raising $$$. 7. As indicated Andy was 1st in line, I got your emails and understood your desire for the OSIN, just didnt respond figuring my post that Andy was first in line would be enough. My apologies OSIN sold, Thanks Andy, enjoy
  8. October 1, 2010: Season kick off will vary for all. Chomping the bit. Late November for some, December for others. Whatever the launch date, we are all excited for the new season. Now is the time to step up and afford yourself some time to prep those lungs, legs and heart for the season. In nearly 30 seasons of riding, last year was the first year I put forth effort to do conditioning prior to the season. That effort optimized my season ten-fold and then some. If you have been teetering to some running, plyo, squats, whatever. tip that scale and give yourself that time, you will be glad that you did and your season will shine even more. Snow cant get here quick enough
  9. I havent played one, stepped away from gaming for a while, but was a BFV and BF2 fan. BFBC2 is simply unreal in graphics. Servers tend to get skill stacked, but good games every so often. Worth the purchase and let me know if you do, looking for good squad players.
  10. Got it, just been on the road most of the week and heaped in paperwork. Andy is 1st in line, and you then if it falls through.
  11. Casper, Did I read on your youtube that you play BFBC2? If so, friend me, call name Erma Greg
  12. It's my brother and he would be down with putting a video together for me. We would need to gather video from the days of riding. MiniDV tape, SD cards preferably. I was hoping to shoot more video at ECES last year but the snow was to hero the days i was there to pull out the camera. As far as the guy in softies, close friend who hasnt converted yet and my brother went with the footage he could get his hands on. The guy missed his calling, loves to edit to the point of over edit, but he loves doing it. He surprised me with this. Hey Casper, your skills have grown since I rode with you, nice switch stuff to the point that I cant follow what your legs are doing and nice angles in some of your other videos. Is that Go Pro HD? If it is, I thought it had some editing issues.
  13. Short video my brother threw together with limited ride footage he had. He knows I love carving and asked to interview me. Some cheesy quotes and footage, but I'll be old someday and can look back. http://www.youtube.com/user/JeffTroxell#p/u/10/otBLICZ6Tb8
  14. Bump OSIN and POGO still up for sale
  15. Anyone here have their Comm Heli Lic? Been a pipe dream of mine for a couple decades and yea I know its expensive, but the wife surprise me with what originated as a heli ride that quickly turned into my first lesson and 27 minutes of me on the stick. Talk about controlled adrenaline. Last thing he said in the headset, "You F8ck up, we die!" Here is my first approach Did well until I tried hovering, tougher than it looks, but Evan said I flew better than many of his 20 hour students. The other heli vid is Evan departing. Just looking to see what considerations, besides the financial end I need to take. Market demand for pilots, etc. Even if it takes me a decade to get it. Always been a dream of mine, hoping one of the kids gets a scholarship;).
  16. Wed. morning thru noon On Razor Cheese grating/glove melting frozen cord until about 10:45 am AND FAST!!! Slightly loosened about 11 or so but became lightning fast. Fastest I heard this guy had ever seen;) Softened but one could get some decent carves in, nothing hero though. Had to ride with a bit of wariness, carve in the sun then sketch thru the tree shdows on the right Paradise seemed to loosen earlier so hit t hat earlier if you go. Started to Slop AND SUNDAY IS THE last DAY at BLUE:barf:
  17. Yea, its been brutal here. Rain rian rain more warm temps. I might scoot out one morning just to get a taste. Friday night is suppose to drop to 32 degrees here in eAston so that would put Blue below 32 in theory, thus freezing this muck up a bit. If that happens that razor blade ice would get tacky sometime midmorning and depneind g on whow quickly the temps rise, the sun and number of skiers and boarders it might hold up. I will get a peak to see how it goes.
  18. Would you considera trade? I have an Osin 3800 used only two hours that is serving no purpose in my office and could use a good home. I do thatplus cash. Let me know
  19. Put a fork in it, it's done. If we dont get a cold spell, which we arent, season is practically over , unless you dig riding in 8-10" of slop. Can anyone confirm what mornings are like b/c late morning yesterday was just one big slush fest, one run on my lunch break and home. Where did the season go. Teach I am still interested in those heels if we ever meet up. I dont have any hurry if you dont, I hope you still have them.
  20. I think mykcuz was referring to Friday at ECES. Wed thursday and Friday we all unreal conditions. I dont think I have ever seen snow hold up to that many carvers clear to last chair at 4pm. Great times great turns!!! Hopefully Blue holds up for another below freezing spell.
  21. Pardon the poo dot in the upper left, dont know what it was. slow to start, close the advertising block. Is Betwixt the name of that run? JBS and I on Standard back to Gondola. Had too much fun on Thursday and Friday!!! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cmrk90UGxmA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cmrk90UGxmA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Hope to get some others on my youtube of other folks carving, when I get some time later today.
  22. I'd pay $20 for a 4-board demo guarantee. If this does go annual, I need to work on my game plan for pitching it to the wife;), maybe an angle that I'm not going SES,b/c ECES has been great the past two events and more than enough to sneek out for a few days and burn the quads. Still making mental turns on Grizzley and Standard
  23. First, I want to thank the folks who threw this event and everything that was arranged to make it happen. KUDOS to those of you who did what you did. Great in so many ways! I have been home from this year's ECES for almost 24 hours. As a rider, I try to always give thought towards trips and even further trips that have "Those Days!", when they are fresh in my mind. Those Days- words used to describe the days that stand out in your riding career. Some folks get more of these days than others, but we can all say we have those days that standout more than others. Here in PA we have had a decent rider season. OK snow, good temps, mediocre grooming, thick weekend crowds, ski team preferential treatment, but none of "Those Days". We take what we can get, when it comes. Some good days, some crummy days, but none for me until ECES 2010. I can say Thursday and Friday of this week were the two most consistently fun and thigh-burning days of riding I believe I have ever had. Throw in Meadowbrook on Thursday? Well, that's just the cherry on top. It was super cool having a run to ourselves and I was stoked to be there! Sure we had some unwelcomed visitors, but guards quickly responded to post watch at the rope. Thanks to those folks who stood at the rope to allow me to pass and to keep watch on our slope. It was great to see the silent level of respect for each other when dropping in. No yelling, some knodding, but it was an understood communication. It was great to be relaxed on a steep slope without worry of some straightliner t-boning you in the back mid-carve. Carving relaxed was out of this world! The rest of Thursday was spent hitting Grizzley, Polar, Tamarack, STANDARD, Switchback to Lower Liftline, STANDARD some more. Stiff, chalky, "do no wrong" snow, clear till last lift. Friday? More the same! Stiff, chalky snow and sun and same runs. I know I have never carved so much, on such great snow two days in a row. Those two days will be classified as "Those Days" for me. Great to see everyone, but can get gets name tags made up for 2012? What adjectives would you use to describe your trip to ECES if you went this year. Stick with snow activities:)
  24. only been home 11.5 hours and quickly dipping into withdrawal. Thursday and Friday were just unreal days, both days easily made my Top 5 carving days of all time. Something about sunshine and chalk. Billy, met you on the lift first thing Thursday, I hope your day went well and Lou good to meet you at the Inn bar banquet night. If you guys can make BMES this year comeon up. We havent set a day yet. Looking 12th 19th or 26th. We can spend some time with lessons if you guys are interested. Thanks goes out to all of those that made this year's event happen. Very cool event!!!! The wife is hating that I demoed great boards from Bruce and Sean, but you folks understand. I hope folks can DL pics of the event. I will try and post some of the helmet cam stuff I got yesterday on my youtube. Thanks Again now let me get back to imagining setting an edge down Grizzly or polar. ARGH!!!
  25. Pow I will be coming to ECES on Tuesday, keeeping an eye out for that Razor possibly. Greg
