  1. With head shaking:freak3: I type this message fresh from our families close friend's computer room. Staying here for the week. Over the years, I have had incidents with furniture (non-sexual, of course) at Ed's house. Well, walking through the dining room, I catch my three left toes on the curled iron of his chair frames. OOO OOOO OOOO Ouch that hurts, tumble to the floor. Pain sets in that is similar to broken bones, not the normal stubbed toe. Only hope that by morning the radiating pain will not be worse and I can ride next week when I get home. Sad thing is that folks I would consider friends are now mocking me from the living room because I might miss a couple weeks with broken toes. Little do they understand the appreciation I have for getting out and making turns and "That" sensation on the hill. Keep riding the couch folks with PS3 and I hope my toes are cool to role. More heckles, Greg
  2. Ian Great write up, it leans me towards a Stubby on my next Coiler, but Monster stills entices me. Angrry has gotten my attention but my POGO OD will due for now. Greg
  3. CD Cool to hear your input on the board. I am considering my next Coiler metal build for maybe next season and looking for some different than my current Coiler metal mutt (mix of variety of bruce's work). Monster is a potential cosideration. Gotta catch up on my knowledge of Bruce's latest progress for consideration for the next build. Enjoy that beast and have a great season. Greg
  4. I am in the burgh the week btween xmas and news years. looking to get one day in at 7. Anyone else??? Let me know. Looking at Wednesday or Thursday maybe.
  5. I do, but turns were in my head. Yesterday was good and today was good with patches of ice. The new trail opened, it will be great for hoots and hollers, bigger show off line than mid-Razor. Paradise and Lazy have been my favs, but looking for some steep. Only got 4 runs becuase last minute shopping and 20 minute waits in high speed six. So much for VIP line for seaon pass holders. took longer standing in that line than any other. No more days until next year. Heading to the burgh. Enjoy, the rest of the mountain should be open by Saturday.
  6. Folks Heading to Sunday river in late January for a few days. Its been several years since i have been there and that was on a freestlye board. What would you recommend for carving there? I recall fairly decent wide open runs most of the mountain but if you could refresh that would help. thanks Greg

Justin and Livin, There is one other person with dibs on the board. I am waiting for confirmed interest. If I do not hear back from him by the end of the day, Justin is next in line then you Livin. Thanks for looking Greg
  8. Tell that to the the other 300+ people I rode beside today at Blue Mountain. Nice of them to let us in four days before the "official" opening:ices_ange and let us ride "uncertified" lifts for the 1.5-2 hours :(as well as make linked turns in variable conditions from top to bottom on Easy Out, School Hill, Explorer, Vista, Midway and Main Street with a "sleety" rain just after 10. Nice to get some turns in with Mr. Smith and dig the new beard!!!! My rust is off and the season began TODAY!!!!!:D http://www.skibluemt.com/SkiBlue/conditions.aspx May wanna check your sources;) as per my brother, snow sports director Welcome to the new season and lets keep the fingers crossed for a nice, cold, snowy one!!!!! Hope to see more folks out this year. Looking at doing a 2-day event for BMES 10, a Thursday and a Friday.
  9. I dont usually go near a computer on the weekend. But I check my email this afternoon to find a nifty little gift in my inbox Blue opens Tomorrow. Sweet!!!!!!............ Honey, can I.............. Originally scheduled for this coming Thursday, I would have missed first turns of the season. Up the schedule and make Greg smile.
  10. watching the World Cup Super D in Val' dshere France on US (sports) network right now (5:19 Friday EST) gives one an appreciation for guys running on the edge. Where I live we dont get a bunch of skiing on tv, Carving on TV? Hah!!! Maybe in the Olympics. But skiing, we get an occasional DH Race which is cool to watch but this Super D on right now, shows some heavy skills on an edge. Sorry for ranting, local hill hasnt open yet and I'm a bit "edge" Feverish. Chomping at the bit to get out with out traveling yet. I miss riding.

Yes Still available, send me a PM, it you are interested in proceeding Thanks Greg
  12. Same here. I got a taste of that this summer with DH MTB. this rock coming off the top of it felt like dropping off a basketball hoop. Not me in the first pic, but one of the main drops in the course. http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/3828972/ This is me, praying as I head into a soup bowl of loose fist size rocks. http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/3829087/ Dirt jumps offered the same senssation. Feels like you are 5 feet in the air but you might be 12" I gotta change my settings to see the video but will give it a look. Season pass purchased today, GAMEON!!!!
  13. Folks Looking for feedback on 10k plus clothing makers out there that you recommend. I am mostly looking for pants. I have had some Volcom Nimbus in my hand but the local shop has held the same price for 3 years running. I have bought pants in the past that indicate waterproof, but I want gear that beads moisture on those days close to freezing or slightly about. Here in PA, we get up and downs cycles and this season expects some good precip. Also looking for solid colors, not any of this plaid or print crap I see out there now. Thanks Greg
  14. ECES, I sent my pitch to my wife, she initially winced, but I thiik I can talk here into it. I am looking at 3 days, maybe W-F, stay over T-R. I dont wanna be there for crowds. Jesse, let me know if that fits your schedule or what were you planning #3 is a set of boot suspension thru negative light snow. Just hoping for that cold snap soon. Next season I hope to be in aboat;)
  15. Thanks all good stuff. I did think about the tire squish thing towards the later part of the session, but the pump was a mile away in the car. I do have the lopez book and its great read. I found the dirt jumper site and was trying to observe the body postion when riders are at the top of the lip and suprisingly, legs are extended, rider standing up vertically, handlebar bar near stomach/chest. I know the gaps are mental and I did go thru the visualizing, it was just the change in take off point was bucking me oddly. I will work on it and get timing down. My dad has some space at his place he said he would let me set up a mini pump track for the kids and I will thrown i some smaller abrupt table tops. to get that timing down.
  16. Ok, so I'm older (40) but I cant shake the young man's hobbies. I got back into mountain biking this summer after 10 years off and picked up a Downhill Rig and enjoyed the lift assisted days at my local mountain. Even raced and got 5th in the 40+ cat. some runs at the mtn are dedicated to jumping but some really big stuff, table tops, hips, those ones that look like quarterpipes but kids still clear the gaps. With that, I also got the dirt jump bug and picked up 26" DJ bike a couple weeks ago. I found the local DJ course yesterday, so I gave it a whirl. I started off on a tabletop about 2.5' high, 12 feet long. I proceeded to practice this for about 20 runs until I was clearing it smoothly, while relaxed in the air. the peak of the take of was slightly rounded I then picked one of the gap jumps, that was about 3' in height X 9' gap, with a more abrupt vertical take off. I figured this would alter the effect of the takeoff and being in the air, but there were no other small table tops with a more abrupt takeoff to practice. So I just went for it, I cleared the gap, but felt awkward in the air and one foot off and rode away. i dropped in again, hit the lip, it kicked weird and I free fell about 8' to the bottom of the landing ramp and rattling my bucket pretty hard. Brushed off and back to the table top. For anyone that does do DJing, besides practice, is there a certain body position to be in to flow up and off the more abrupt take off lip and not get kicked? I would assume it is also a rhythm thing. Lastly, most of the jumpers I have seen there in the past are on 20", would the wheel circumference and transition affect the take as well? Thanks Greg
  17. Well, the downhill mountain bike season ended on Halloween. So now its time to get cold and puke!!!! looking forward to a great season, Farmer's Almanac predicts good stuff. Season Pass discount last day is Nov 16, still pricy as hell. Lets being planning for BMES 2010 and consider two days instead of one, if feasible. a thruisday and Friday. I hope everyone's summer went well and get the legs ready if you havent been already. See you soon Greg
  18. Folks Looking for inouton slope tracking devices to track vertical feet, GPS etc. Also interested in any that might have heart rate monitor. i have looked on line at various devices but too many to make an edutaed decision. Skitrak looked cool but it doent do heart rate. Hoping to get an all in one device to cover training leading up to the seaon and track vertical and such during season. $$$ is a factor, <$150 Thanks Greg
  19. Thanks I dont mind rocky, but when it gets to abusive rocky, it tends to wear on you thru the day, plus I seem to break bike parts even when I dont fall. Rear Derailur this time and the wife gives me that look when ordering bike parts. Blue has some steep loose loamy sections on the some of the DH lines and its just hang on and hope you dont hit trees. the Super D line is great and they had a smaller jumps section that I liked. Phil, any decetn DH tires you recommend that will function well for the longevity and price.. I was checking out the WTB weirwolfs and the WTB dissents., cant spend a ton but losing tread on my rear tire. gotta run
  20. Just looking for feedback on Diablo and Seven Springs. We hit Blue Mountain this weekend for some Downhill MTB action, but very rocky. It looks like the trails and flow sections of 7 Springs seem smooth and opportunistic for someone learning to increase jump abilities. Diablo seems to have numerous trails, but looking ofr feedback if it a is a place that one can go and hammer if need be and also cruise section to explore with out get run over by someone behind you. Any insight on particualr trails would be great. Thanks Greg

Apparently he liked his BAR's and thompsons hung up. I love those auto's when I played Call of Duty, cant imagine how they fire in real life. Nice little room of hisotry there.
  22. Ernie I could tnagree with you more. What you just decribed is near what P90 in their plan. I was suprised by what was advised for consumption, even to the point of "I cant eat all of that". The word Diet is not used in P90, its a Nutrition plan. Go ahead dice me up for calling it something else, but You cant even use the word diet in its orginal definition 1 anymore. Its automatically connotated towards some form of starving yourself to death. Everyone thinks that you get 2 almonds as a snack in the evening and you can have 2 stalks of cerlery. Nutrition being the key word. I get to eat more than I ever have. I stuck with the plan just to experiment to see what the results would be. To my suprise of consuming that many daily calories, I still readily lost weight and placed lean muscle. Plus I relearned that with the right diet and discipline, it makes all the difference. As I am sure you are already aware, you have a much higher insight and practice with your "balance" and you are exactly right. but most ppl cant adhere themselves to that and I think the program offers the phycallity of getting back in shape and teaching you that if you do follow a well-balance plan, its makes a huge difference in your well-being. I lost sight of that over the years with work, kids , marriage etc. and this program helped get me back on track to where I was as a late teenager, eating well and excercixes with splurges here and there. I am following a "diet" of the original websters definition 1 and it has opened my eyes again to having the "balance" in life and it is feasibel even though most of what is put in front of us is horrible for us. Daily intake for the middle elvel size person on P90 might include: 7 serving of protein (3oz each) 3 serving of low fat dairy (1 oz each for cheese or 8oz for milks) 1 serving of fruit 4 serving of veggies (1 cup each cooked or 2cups each leafy) 1 serving fats 1 serving cabrs (but flips in thrid pahse for more NRG to 7 serving) 2 snacks, protein bardried frtui ric cake, too many to ist 2 condiments. Having been thru it, thats a llota eatin' 3000+ calories per day add more protein, dairy All in all, I thought the program was antoher infomerical , that I got gigged, it sat on my shelf for 3years, while my life was "too busy". I completely dig where you are coming from at the sametime I thikk its a good program to get oneself back on track becasue not everyone ahs the metabolism you indicate that you have. I use to enjoy my beers too after a good ride or run but I cant drink anymore, allergic toalcohol, but that has been a blessing in disguise. Where do you get the megamilk???
  23. Here are my photo results, please accept my post not being self indulgent but a form of encouragement. I have found that my friends family and colleagues did not take my participation in P90 too seriously, until they would see me at periodic get together and comapny meetings, then I had some friends inquire on my before and after pics. when I sent them, they immediately ordered the program. I dont know if they view me as lazy and if Greg can do it I can, but whatever the motivation to get back in shape, it never too late. As I said I have had 14 ppl get the program sinc eposting my results last week and I wish them all the best. Should anyone pursue the program on BOL, I will support them whole heartedly, the way I feel and carry myself now, I play beter with my kids, I enjoy hobbies of old, my "time" with the wife is better and when carving season comes, I wont be half winded at the end of runs. More tuirns= more fun. If you have any question, feel free to call me, i' not a coach yet, so dont think I'm trying to sell you anything, I dont get a dime, I just get the enjoyment out of ppl making a diffrence for themselves, family and loved ones. Lastly, betond the physical journey it was, the biggest benefit was my mental stabilization ( I was crazy, but my self esteem wasnt what it was when I was super active, before sedinitery job, 3 kids and so on. I had let myself get to ppoint I had never been and it wasnt sitting well within my psyche. good luck if you embark. My wife started 3 dasy ago and shes doing great. Oh well tried to post bu the pics only show as red "x" in small box. Any idea what that means.
  24. To answer a few of the posts: Time: I found the 1 hour per day working out at home is about a third of the time, apcking up to head to a gym or my closest mt bike location so I felt Iwas saving time. what you get done in that hour is about 3 houts of regular time at a gym, minimal rest between set. and the results were ten fold compared to years of being in the gym and running/cyling etc. if anything the 90 day investment will exponentially improve all of your atheleticism (sp?) Diet- I consider a change in lifestyle of consumption rather than diet. What I felt helped me was cooking batches of chicken breast on sunday and knoshing from that all week. If I were single and didnt have 3 kids I would have done more of the recipes which the ones I did were quite tasty. The meals are measured in units and once you figure out what you like stick with with some change out of meats etc to keep it interesting. As far as the kids, make their meal and you have yours there already. It is a nother matter of discipline to stick to it. I found that as yousee results within a week or two, you become more cognizatn of what you ingest. Eating the right things instead of the easy garbage that scoiety was put in front of us. That is why we have become the obese society we have, easiness and lazy. http://www.weightloss-hq.biz/exercise-reviews/top-20-p90x-questions-answered-here.html While P90 has gotten me back into the best shape of my life, I actually now enjoysuicide runs and 50 yard wind sprint during my break between cycles , but I am also doing mt bike hills and circuits easily that I woulget gassed on at 25. Flexibility became my favorite thing, being able to basically fold myself in half, I gained 7+ inches in the stanard touch the toes among other thing. Iw ill post my results but understand I only missed one work out and did some walking that day and I stuck ot the eating schedule very strictly and shunned all temptations. It was worth it. Since seeing myresults and I posted on my facebook, I have had 14 classmeates and friends get the program, I can only hope they have the gumption to stick with it. Greg
  25. Tuesday is my last day of P90X and it is considered graduation for those who go thru it. Great results. Glad I did the program, life changer. I have had 7 friends start it since I began Started in April 5, 2009 215 lbs, 2 pull ups and 8 push ups Today ( I added some time due to misses workouts due to work travel and a vacation) 187 lbs, 27 pull ups (reverse grips) and 65 push ups, both new personal bests Lost about 40 lbs of fat and added the balance of lean muscle. Dove right back into mountian biking and wearing the two boys out each day instad of them runnning me ragged. I look forward to carving next season. Doing another cycle Sept thru Nov to tighten up again. I was gonna post pics but felt awkward. The wife is digging it. If anyone is considering it, please indulge and finish it. Quite a journey for a "packaged" work out routine. Greg
