  1. Pretty sure it's 18.5cm wide. I wouldn't order a new board this narrow, but I got this board just for the hell of it. Not exactly a daily driver. Price was right. Update from Bruce, he says it's 19m. I'm not expecting to be able to move around the mountain much. This will come out only when it's buff. I saw a biggish dude riding a Tanker 200 last year. I had to ask if that's what it was because being a freeride shape I couldn't be sure. It just looked pretty normal for him. And I'm aware of these boards - I bet the average snow slider who isn't might just see the shape and not think twice. An alpine board sticks out already, so when it's really long it's a double effect. Barring retro day or the very odd Tanker rider, this will be the longest thing on the hill, lol.
  2. Pretty sure it’s a 18.5 m single radius. There are a few worthy trails at Sugarloaf. Lookout below!
  3. Picked up this sweet semi-vintage 196 Coiler SG from Mike Mallon of USASA. Should get some liftline comments! ?
  4. Hi Lee, check out the new "Similar Content" block - to the right of the thread on desktop, below the thread on mobile.
  5. The "Similar Content" block has now been added to threads - on the right in desktop mode, at the bottom for mobile. This will show up when you Tag your thread with keywords. You can think of this like hashtagging, but confined to just this site. Here is a thread with a lot of tags. The Similar Content block only shows other threads that have been similarly tagged, it does not scan post text. Enjoy!
  6. Thanks guys! ASB, USASA, and USSRT thank you. You can make your donation here: http://forums.alpinesnowboarder.com/clients/donations/1-classifieds-donation/ Thanks again.

Hi Poloturbo, I've fixed your Supporting Member account status, and you should be able to post pictures now. This was caused by a bug in the forum software which was hopefully fixed in the update I applied today. Let me know if this happens again, sorry for the inconvenience! Jack
  8. Actually my supplier just located a source for youth size Classic hats. What would you prefer @Steph? By the way folks, I did some sweating in my Classic hat and got the gross salt marks on the navy bits. I just rinsed them out under cool tap water, hung the hat up to dry and voila, like new again.
  9. This video, circa 1983, is a big part of why I took up snowboarding. Anyone else remember this one? Takes me right back. I distinctly remember my dad's jaw on the floor. He's a big skier and used to surf, this blew his mind.
  10. Cool story! I remember those names. I probably would have reacted similarly to the indecent proposal. She would?? Who doesn't regret some stupid stuff they did in their youth?
  11. Please PayPal jack@alpinesnowboarder.com. Thanks.
  12. My cost for a single youth size flex fit hat would be $30. You can have it for that if you want. Or you could try the adjustable Classic on for size and ship it back for a refund if it doesn't work.
  13. TD3 with yellow (soft) e-rings will flex in any direction, fairly generously, IMO. Omnidirectional flex is the raison d'etre of the TD3. The Sidewinder just adds even more lateral/medial flex. I've tried F2 bindings and when I size them the way I feel bindings should be sized, they seem similarly stiff as TD3s. If one sizes bindings such that one can open and close them with just two fingers, maybe it's different.
  14. Cleaned up some some unnecessary conjecture about personal matters. I saw the sales pitch, as I wanted to see if I could buy it. It was merely a statement of facts. It would seem the Callens didn't understand the difference between gross and net, or were too excited by the gross revenue number, which was an exciting number. Net profit was not. Fin lived in an apartment above his factory for a reason. He was not paying $4000/month in rent.
  15. I've seen this board rip. Buy with confidence!
  16. Checking on youth sizes, stand by.
  17. Last I heard, Fin still has his CNC machine.
  18. The usual criticism of Bomber bindings among racers was that they were too stiff. Indeed the TD1 was too stiff for the equipment of the day - stiff non-metal boards, no plates, and would probably still be considered too stiff today. The original TD2 didn't go far enough to address this issue, with only a thin e-ring providing a little bit of suspension. By the time the TD3 arrived with roughly quadruple the suspension, and the Sidewinder option, it was simply too late. Some racers did adopt it, but not in droves. Most racers had established their technique and their feel on F2. Even if a Bomber could provide as much flex or more, it simply didn't feel right to them.
  19. Works for me on iPhone in Safari. What phone and browser are you on?
  20. They were purchasing the company by making payments to Fin on a schedule. At some point, they stopped making payments. Several months elapsed with no communication, so Fin had to sue them. Then they declared bankruptcy. Fin is out over $200,000 in money that was owed to him - the equity he built over 25 years. On the bright side, he's doing well in the solar industry. Nobody knows what was in the Callens' hearts during all this. I don't believe it was malice. Just a perfect storm of extreme incompetence, negligence, ignorance, indifference, hubris, delusion (e.g. the career/life coaching stuff is just over the top - who talks about themselves like that??), downright stupidity, and finally panic and desperation. I do think they believed they were trying to save the business. Regardless, they hurt many people and didn't seem to care, at least not enough. They are guilty and owe a debt to society. I am 100% with Fin.

  22. That is some serious stack height.

Jason Spooner. Somewhere between Jack Johnson and Strangefolk.
  24. I think you were on the right track until numbers 2 and 3. It wasn't those. Suggesting that one could or would operate Bomber as a get-rich-quick scheme is quite a stretch, if only for the simple fact that it would be completely ineffective. I know they originally had good intentions to keep Bomber going and make it even more successful, but they were just grossly inexperienced and incompetent in small business management. When things spun out of control they handled it incorrectly and hurt many people along the way by taking money for orders they knew they could not fulfill, etc, and the embezzlement. This is all stealing, regardless of intent. I'm sad for them but now it is time for them to face the music. It is deserved.
