1. this is going up on the wall in the call center.
2. As they put on the forms, what is the highest level of education you have completed.
3. Saw a similar poll on another forum, thought it was interesting. What do you do? Sorry if I didn't put your job up there, we only get 10 choices. I'll keep it private for those who don't want to say publicly. If you want to say what you do, feel free to post below.
4. let me guess.... Sector 9 too expensive? :P
5. Very sorry to hear this Bordy, I hope you reconsider. May I suggest what has worked for me (not that I am on your level of experience)... and that is, I've learned over time that sometimes all you can do is just post your stuff and then ignore all responses that aren't direct, respectful questions regarding your post. (questions, not questioning) Let the readers sort out the signal from the noise. If they don't get it right, well, too bad. Caveat emptor. But I think there's enough people here who know your deal and will back you up. Also I think your beef is with the internet in general, not just BOL. Unfortunately this is how forums work. I'm on a couple others where the signal/noise ratio and respect levels are dreadfully lower. You just have to cherry pick the good stuff. Have a great summer. You have helped me think about snowboards in ways that wouldn't have occurred to me.
6. XTerra, Catek sticker, boards on the roof.... anyone here?
7. hehehe ;) it is freakin' narrow though! I've just gone the other way - 21cm wide and I'm loving it. Feels like a snowboard again!!
8. yeah... I'm calling that a skwal! Not that it matters, because Ray rips regardless.

10. it takes a certain kind of person to make vague, baseless, 10 year old slams on someone on the internet from behind an anonymous username with no history. reeeal brave, tenorman.

13. I said "plain supidity", right?
14. "Holy cow that's awesome! I'd never be able to do that." "look how close he is to the ground - that's dangerous!" Modern skis that can actually carve. The marketing concept that you need a freestyle board even if 90% of your time is spent outside the park/pipe. Misconceptions (uncomfortable, cold, difficult, only good for carving/racing) or stigma (uncool, skier-like) of hardboots. "I carve fine on my softboots." (no, you don't) "I don't want to be a beginner again" Not enough days spent on the hill to justify a second setup. Lack of mainstream exposure - the "is that a snowboard?" questions didn't start until Alpine was dropped from the Burton catalog. Fear of change, complacency, acceptance/obliviousness of mediocrity. The idea that the most important skills in snowboarding happen with the board off the ground. People like being able to walk around in softboots - they would rather have comfort while walking than performance while riding. Plain stupidity. (mind you, I don't really have a problem with the size of our population. I'd just like to sustain it.)
15. This is the price of poker. Pay to play. Do you have any L or N glass? Same idea. You never will see that option. The people that are making the best boards do it because they love it, not to get rich. The prices you see keep the lights on and food in their children's tummies. Don't try to say that the price of Alpine is what is keeping our population low. There are dozens of factors before that one.
16. New gear is not overpriced. Haven't you noticed skis these days retail for over a grand? Nobody's saying you can't have fun on cheap gear. But I guarantee you, if you take a run on your old ride and then demo a new Coiler, Donek, Prior, Madd, etc, you will open your checkbook unconditionally and not even care what number you are asked to put in the box. Assuming your skills allow you to realize the benefits of the new tech. Anyone else, don't embarrass yourself by questioning Bordy's skills/experience/knowledge. One of the best I've seen.
17. Actually I took a couple runs with Bode on a board at Sugarloaf many years ago. My sister knows him well from his parents' tennis camp. He's a nut - pretty fast! No joke!

21. Come now, the one thing you can't fault Burton for is build quality. Their construction is tight. I've had a few factory seconds from pro-form that you couldn't see any blems without a trained eye - they would have qualified as firsts from many other manufacturers. A used FP today would probably be about as stiff as an Axxess, but new they were pretty stiff boards. Can you learn to rip on a Burton and have fun doing so? Yes. Are today's boards much better? Yes.
22. Bummer man. Send her best wishes from BOL.
