  1. time to retire that classic board and hang it on your wall. perfect excuse to get on the new hotness.
  2. nice. ever had Gulden Draak? One of my faves. If so how does it compare?

  5. $1535 shipped for a custom brokered by All Boards Sports. Although the only thing custom about mine is that it was built for my weight, and I asked for the metal topsheet. If that's too steep you can save a couple bucks and buy a stocker from Catek, if they're accepting orders. If you go the custom route, if the standard shapes won't work for you, decide on your length and waist width and let them design the sidecut. In any case just say you want the PGS or PSL sidecut, don't specify a radius. If that's still too steep, get a Coiler NSR, Hardbooter PGS, or new Donek metal race. Frankly I anticipate selling my Kessler after my review of it next to the Coiler, HB, and Donek. I would basically have to be having on-hill orgasms to keep a $1500 board for freecarving.

Well, we can say this... If we can get Stratton to bend on a few points of their proposal, it will be there. If they won't budge, it's back to Sugarloaf. We would like to have the event at Stratton this year if possible for the central location and better selection of intermediate terrain. We are trying to get this wrapped up ASAP, but there are a few items we simply cannot rush. We'll let you know when it's final, thanks for the interest!
  7. Yeah, that's what I wanted. But they asked for a SCR, so I gave them one. I dunno, must be the IT in me, but when a form asks for a number, I enter a number. When someone asks me how tall I am, I don't answer "Jack". It looks like they ignored my entry, thankfully.
  8. Could have had something to do with my gracious hosts, who were both softbooters. :D I just didn't get the impression there was much groomed terrain at all at Squaw. I seem to recall some good grooming up by the Palisades, but otherwise it all seemed like cat-tracks and easy-way-downs. Sounds like I didn't see the good stuff. Don't get me wrong, I had a spectacular time. Geoff, your man-crush on me is starting to get creepy. Sheesh, get a hold of yourself.
  9. That is what I put on the order sheet in the field that asked for sidecut radius. Apparently real racers just enter "PGS". Silly me, being a software guy, I entered an integer in an integer field. But the tip/waist/tail dimensions on that sheet are within an acceptable margin of error to my English units tape measure readings off my board, so I'm reasonably sure I got the standard PGS sidecut. I stressed to Bola that I wanted the board built as if I was going to join the WC tour, I assume he passed that along.
  10. Cool, looks like I got the standard PGS 185 shape, I had a little doubt that maybe I hadn't filled out the order form correctly.
  11. I went to Squaw Valley in '98 and there was basically no point in even bringing carving gear. If you are an expert level snowboarder, you'll want to play on the 98% of the mountain which is not groomed. tahoecarvers.com may disagree though.
  12. 158 and 170 are the same width, give or take a couple mm's. 180 is wider by 1cm.

somebody get off the wussy wagon and buy this sweet ride!
  15. play hockey. re: P90x; Eric Zane endorses it, that's good enough for me!
  16. That is pretty uncool, however I am far more alarmed by this sort of stuff: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/33068650/ns/today-parenting_and_family So, the state thinks they can tell us we can't have our friends' kids over to our house in the morning? wtf.
  17. Wicked pissah. Not sure about some of the dance moves, but I'll give it two thumbs up even though I'm not a native (and therefore by Maine standards my children aren't either even though they were born here). However nothing is "Official Maine..." until Bob Marley or Tim Sample say so. This is more Bob's speed though. Nice find!
  18. I liked this flaming bird, and I like this font better if you're dying for something new....
  19. Shred just doesn't like that there are no axe-murderers on the boards.
  20. I'm not feeling the new font for the name. I would stick with the bird logo or go back to the vintage ~2000-2003 font. Eye is pretty, I would pick it for a woman's board. Salt is interesting but not for a snowboard. I love Sunset, to me it looks like a neo-Cruzer, which is a good thing, but the name is upside down relative to the horizon. Ice is a good idea but I personally don't like blue on brown anywhere, any time. Flame is very nice but reminds me of an Ultra Prime. Noise is a home run for me, especially having seen a picture of it in use - very cool and original. Ecto - beautiful, love the Ghostbusters reference, but it looks like a Coiler. I voted Sunset and Noise.

Oh you're at Stratton? This board will shine there. Damn, why am I selling it again? If I was made of money I'd keep it. *sniff*
