  1. I think you're talking about not being able to flex your ankles as much. This is normal, you can't do it unless you are riding and carving at a pretty good clip. Forget about what it feels like in your living room. But seriously do not try your hardboots until you are carving on easy trails in your softboots. Ideally you should be able to make a line in the snow almost like this: in your softies. Minimally, you need to be able to change edges before the board points downhill.
  2. Take the softies out first, and make sure you can carve the downhill edge. If you can do that, the transition to hardboots will be easier. If you can't do that, try The Norm to get there.
  3. Presumably one pair (front or back) of the bolts attaching the plate to the board are passing through slots, not holes, in the plate. So the plate can move in shear along the board. This will provide some isolation.
  4. Interesting creature! In the first picture, what am I looking at along the left edge of the plate? Is that the core of the plate or something else? Looks like the plate is not 100% carbon fiber?
  5. you can do this in gmail, if you use that. create a group of contacts. then enter the group name in the To: field whenever you want to email that group.
  6. haha, guess I was confused by the t-shirt graphic. ;)
  7. Is this a Christian-only session? ;)
  8. Weird how my 2008 metal Coiler is still going strong. Had some of my best days on it towards the end of last season. Sorry to hear it, Flywalker.
  9. licking the dog... tempting the dog... both... I'm not sure. :D
  10. Hmm, not quite, but it looks like it might work for us. Basically I want to know if it can track a racer through a PGS course: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cWGOIw0jaYA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  11. Thanks for dropping by David! Wish I had an iPhone! :( Got an example of a map that shows somebody carving round sinusoidal turns? BlueB, I think we can assume that the "social networking" side of this app is what allows it to be free. I agree it would be nice if there was a pay version without that.

  13. You were googling for a DIY vasectomy, weren't you.
  14. I am Facebook friends with Jeff, I've tried to raise him there. He's not very active on FB, but I don't have any other email for him other than at catek.com.
  15. At first I want to agree with you, but considering Cuban's and Scooby's results which break 40 while carving, I'm not sure. A slower sampling rate would make me think the GPS reading would be slower than actual, because it wouldn't be measuring your speed along the curved path as accurately. It would appear to the GPS that you covered less ground than you did. I think we can assume we are carving at least as fast as any GPS will say.
  16. Yes, please, let me know when so I can have patrol there to <s>pull your pass</s>, I mean, verify it. He is. Sure why not. I don't have softies, but maybe with my new SG 163 I'll actually be able to carve a few of the turns on that "flight of the bumblebee" course.
  17. Even if you refrain from using most of the "smart" stuff, it's still a phone a camera (now quite decent) a walkman all in one. That's pretty cool.
  18. I would hazard a guess that a typical GS-style freecarve run on good groom would top out at like 30mph if you're really cooking.
  19. No kidding eh? Work provides me with a p.o.s. phone for free, so I can't really justify it. Also I'm afraid if I inquire about an upgrade they'll look at their list and realize I'm actually not supposed to have the phone anymore! Well it does record airtime, fwiw.
  20. I've never found out. Have you? For real? Looks like this will make it easier to do so if you have a smart-phone... which I don't... yet... www.alpinereplay.com
  21. Forum limits poll options to 10. Could have done the 10 provinces, but then what about the territories? :)
  22. awesome, but the board seems so short??
