  1. That F2 would have been my #1 pick - wish I had the $:( Someone grab that thing! Good to see you on BOL Ian!
  2. We do occasionally get these here in UT. I remember riding Brighton a 2-3 seasons ago with a healthy base on October 30 (they typically open before anyone else in the area). Snow was GOOD and many trails were open!

    Coiler PR GS186

West Carven, Sent you an e-mail earlier today and I feel like I have provided a pretty comprehensive profile of the board's characteristics in my previous e-mails. Bottome line, the first one that says "I want it" and puts up the $ gets it.

    Coiler PR GS186

Need some cash and, unfortunately, she's gotta go :( Board is in EXCELLENT/Near-mint condition - very minor scuffs and binding marks (TD2). Fresh grind, edges are very good. Superboard construction, pressed in 2006 - SUPER damp ride! Waist - 19cm SCR - 15m Running Length - 168cm Taper - 4mm 6.4 flex $425 Shipped to lower 48
  7. Started w/yellow, went to blue (long springs) - perfect! ~160 lbs.
  8. Nice...but I'd have to find a new home for the '08...only 15 days left...hmmm ;)
  9. - 2006 - Superboard Const. - 15 m scr - 19 cm waist
  10. Like you Al (and many others) I too have THOROUGHLY enjoyed my '08 Prior - Amazing ride! And I've managed to keep the top sheet protected and clean. Unfortunately, I spent a fair amount of energy and effort to achieve that. Furthermore, this effort was NOT prompted by maintaining aesthetics but the overall functionality of the ride. If it was about looks, I would have immediately peeled that protective layer and shined her up like some have here. I just want to protect my investment and make it last. I can live with scratches and nicks/dings on a glass deck w/traditional top sheet - they continue to function fine! The metal top sheets don't fair so well once they've been compromised. Like you said, it is inevitable. The metal layer protected by the top sheet just makes sense. Bottom line - I don't have another $900+ to plunk down. I DO like your idea!
  11. Should have waited one more season
  12. Too true. I was on my madd that day...someone edited it out and put a 197 Burner under my feet:confused: Oh, wait...that was Bryan. Never mind
  13. I remember this game - pretty cool for its time. From what I remember there were options to use a Burton FP or UP to race with in that game, but don't remember Alps as one of the options. It's been a while though.
  14. I had a chance to meet Bert and ride w/him a bit @ Powder Mt. some time back. SUPER friendly and outgoing individual in addition to being a VERY enthusiastic and passionate hardbooter. The guy could ride! And after reading his obituary, I have a better understanding for that passion - what a fascinating life! I am very sorrry to hear of this. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
  15. I've only been on a few coilers (PR and RC) and they are a very stable and quiet ride - nice and damp. Generally speaking (from my limited experience on his product) not a super lively board, but I've had the opportunity to push 'em HARD - no folding and a very nice edge hold and clean release. The PR 186 that I currently own had minimal camber from day one and there's been no observable loss over the past couple of seasons. Every board builder's product line has characteristics that attract riders, and like Bob said, plenty of variance within the same model with different construction/materials. The dampness and edgehold of the Coilers seem to be a trade mark of Bruce's that keep people comin' back for more. I know the man is NOT hurtin' for business. This is GOOD:biggthump As a side note, I find it interesting that people talk about how relatively dead the Prior Metals are:confused: Was out on mine again a few days ago and was getting airborne edge changes with little effort. Yet damp and grippy on the springtime early frozen stuff, bustin' through the slush in the PM. TONS of camber - very lively.
  16. it's NOT just PORN, but GLOW IN THE DARK PORN Remember, you're making an "Enlightened Style Statement"
  17. I like the fact that I could run low angles on the super ultimate metal - You may be seeing my Prior on the classifieds. I'm thinkin' "Super Ultimate" may be THE quiver killer - just sayin':lol::lol:
  18. Really? 2006 was the first season WCR Metal was offered to the masses - metal top sheet. Did you see a proto-type or something?
  19. Pow days, hero groom, early season chalk/ice, spring slush, poor lighting/visibility, cold/windy...EVERY ONE of them better than my BEST day at work
  20. Ha, you GO OSHA man!! Worked for Utah Occupational Safety and Health (State employee) for past 5 years: 4 in enforcement and past year in Consultation (the employer actually REQUESTS our services - FREE, no citation, no penalty - they kinda like us). Industrial Hygienist by trade/training (don't clean teeth:smashfrea) Noah, you get your CSP yet? Thinkin' about it - going for CIH first though.
  21. Did "nothing"? So "something" must be defined by being on the podium every other event? Being consistently in the top ten? Qualifying for the Olympic team? Being on a Wheaties box? I guess it couldn't be spending that many years training/riding/associating with some the best alpine snowboard athletes in the WORLD as well as equipment mfgs and then taking that knowledge and experience, dedicating your LIFE to it (with a passion), and helping disseminate it to the masses...hmmm Uh, no, actually his full-time job involves being ON THE SNOW. Something that I would imagine many of us nobodies (well, at least me) would kill to be able to do successfully. Unfortunately not a reality for me, at least for now. I'm bound and determined to make this happen in some way, shape or form...someday. Does his wife know about this?
  22. Nope, $599 for those rides seems about right! Ridden both - great decks for intended use! Get 'em mildly used here on the classifieds, even bettter deals to be had! Step up to the WCR Metal - $799. Still not too bad, though it exceeds your $600 ceiling. Yeah, I know, I know...I'm NOT an Olympic hopeful (though I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express) ...sure as HELL not a Hilton (see above - prefer Holiday Inn) Yet, from my non-professional, not-stupid-a$$-Paris-Hilton-rich perspective and experience, that Metal WCR is worth EVERY BLOODY PENNY:p Trust me, with a mortgage, family, FT employment in the public sector, I KNOW what a budget is. If a used FP or UP is what yer budget allows, DO IT! Enjoy and grow your stoke. But to say that the newest technoligies and materials available is reserved for the uber-rich or professional athlete seems pretty restrictive. Is it "necessary" to thoroughly enjoy and even perform well? Hell no! Plenty have proved that. Can gradually stepping up in gear help progress your riding? HELL YES! Ahh priorities. As for our household, the kids are learning to LOVE beans and rice
