  1. Ohhhhh, Wildflower... Early morning + Hero Groom + NOBODY ELSE + 197 or 188 Burner = :1luvu: with just a bit of Have not had the Prior on that one yet, but the season is still young. Pow & moguls all the times I've been there this season.
  2. Randy, that is an absolute BEAUTY! Home mountain for a topsheet design - COOL concept Now you need to take a photo of yourself with the board at that part of the trail with the mountain in the background Enjoy!

    Locked? & Lean?

Ryan IMO, this really has more to do with how you're pressuring the board through the turn. Some previous discussion here: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=5959&highlight=wavy+trenches Of course, stance width, angles and even your boot settings can have some impact on your ability to keep your mass balanced over the edge. Somtimes finding that "magic" place where everything jibes with your equipment and feels good is the most challenging part of carving. Camps, clinics and riding with other hardbooters are all ways to get ideas to help get you dialed. Good luck! (OK, that was my last edit)
  4. Interesting perspective. This completely contradicts my own experience as well as all the formal coaching (admittedly not an extensive amount) I've received on this very issue. I find the knees-together a very limiting position in absorbing chatter from chopped-up terrain. I know this approach is working for JJFluff and some others and that's great! Like Jack said, try 'em all and decide what works for you. The one thing I have noticed is that, on an aggressive heelside, occasionally my rear knee will come close to the top of the boot cuff of my front foot. That's as close to things coming together for me.
  5. I have limited experience on metal, but of the stuff I've tried, metal sure didn't kill the liveliness! Of the 3 I've ridden, each one had PLENTY o' pop. Camber profile, core materials, shape...all going to play a part. All the desirable riding characteristics you could want in an alpine deck are present as far as I can tell. Granted these are consumer GS sticks and are designed to have the "fun factor" along with performance. Not sure what a team-stock metal, PGS specific Prior, Kessler, SG or...whatever, would feel like. Sure would like to though
  6. Nonsense Dave :p Brianhead has PLENTY of fun terrain. Just like any other resort in UT, April can always be iffy. Expect springy conditions, that's all! All I know is that the snow this past March was as good or better than anything we had up north. Elevation can be an issue - I think the base is close to 9000'. Be prepared to adjust! About a 3 hour drive from Vegas.
  7. Did mine last month in my own kitchen oven using the instructions that came with 'em from Bomber....worked just fine Yeah, I watched 'em closely as well during the "baking" time (oven was OFF at this point).
  8. Interestingly enough, I rode a 187 Metal and 182 Donek Thorndike GS (Olympic) back to back last season. Unfortunately, no vid at the time, but I don't think anyone would have SEEN much (if any) difference in the way the turns looked from a distance. Rode both decks at similar speed, turn shape, level of aggression, etc. The Donek was a rippin' ride, make no mistake! But the difference in FEEL was instant and it was NIGHT & DAY. For ME, metal won hands down.
  9. The durability isssue was discussed a bit in this thread: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=15268&highlight=titanal+durability
  10. Very nice Now, stop looking at it already and GO RIDE IT!!! THAT is time well spent
  11. No question about it John, Nidecker puts out a good product. Been a staple in my family for a number of years. I think the Swoard deal is pretty recent (like within the past year?). Prior to that I believe they were being made at the Virus factory in Germany.
  12. Haven't tried the '08, but have been REALLY enjoying the '07 SL. Lively, snappy, grippy - NICE! I haven't been on SL shapes much this past couple of seasons and I almost forgot how FUN they are to ride!! From what I can tell, overall shape and dimensions have not changed between '07 & '08. Flex? Dampening? Be interesting to compare 'em. I think the Hardbooter crew has some'08s and even some '07s left? http://www.hardbooter.com/
  13. Don't confuse the Nidecker Project with Project TM. The Project (I think it was the Project FS) was designated as a freestyle/freeride deck. The TM was the BX version (stiffer). I currently ride an '04 Project TM as my all-mtn pow & freeride deck with plates - no problems. Floats the pow and carves well. Ride it with HB because right now I don't have a softie set up. If I did, I would be riding that deck w/softies. Can't comment on how the other would ride, but I do know that the flex is different. As a first-time HB deck, there are better options out there. You may want to look at some all-mtn shapes (ala Coiler AM/Donek Axxess/Prior 4wd or ATV) and could probably pick up something gently used here on the classifieds. Just a thought.
  14. +1 Thanks for the reminder, Rick! Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year!!

  17. Good timing Barry! Northern Utah is getting HAMMERED by another storm as I type this! By the time you get up here, Powder should be good. Snowbasin has received and additional 2' in the last 48 hours.
  18. This has been covered at least a couple of times. Found this one: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=8161&highlight=serrated+wavy+edge

  20. Come on out to WTC and at the end of the day, you too may be able to leave PC with one of these on yer arm. They'll settle for the occasional jibber, but the they go absolutely weak-in-the-knees over guys w/hard gear ;)
  21. Sounds like counter-rotation = not good
  22. +2 on bobdea Even if angles were increased to the 20-30 degree range(to avoid overhang), I can't even imagine why squaring your shoulders/hips to the board would be encouraged.
