  1. Yeah, I thought they just called those thingies "Blades" I've had folks call my alpine deck a "Skiboard" Something like: 'Hey, that there's one o'them "skiboards", aint it?!' I think I will be ordering one of Divebomber's stickers: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=17699 Still
  2. My backyard...10 minutes ago...and still dumping. About friggin' time!
  3. Mike, EXACTLY the dimensions I came up with. Don't know about the material that you have now, but DON'T try your standard 3/8" drill with regular plexiglass. Bought a small sheet just to play around with - way too brittle. I'm going to stay away from the acrylic stuff.
  4. Thanks! Works out to be just under 5mm
  5. Look forward to this!! What kind of thicknesses have you used?
  6. From what I've gathered, these lexan/plexiglass etc. plates are in the 4-5mm (??) range for thickness. From what I know about lexan, it has a high impact strength as well as a certain elasticity. One would think this would allow the material to flex with the board. Would like to hear other's experience with this as well.
  7. I guess I stand corrected  MUST...HAVE...SNOW...SOOOON!
  8. Polycarbonate such as Lexan?? Thickness? Have any board builders commented on this? (warranties, other potential issues) Seriously want to know!
  9. I should qualify my previous post with the fact that I informed him (Dean) that these were the two bindings that I would most likely be using on the deck before I received this e-mail. I DO NOT know what his or Prior's opinion is on any other binding mfg when applied to their metal product. If/when I ride TD2s on my metal deck, I WILL be using softest e-ring WITH the suspension kit. F2s will likely be my first choice. I do wish Catek all the best in this new venture and hope/expect good things in their product development as they receive feedback from both recreational and pro-level riders.
  10. For what it's worth, I received this e-mail from Dean Thompson @ Prior right after I ordered my '08 WCR Metal with the same question: TD2’s with softest e-rings and F2 Titaniums are the preferred bindings for metal race boards and should protect you from any delaminations in the binding area. I recommend you avoid hitting objects with the sidewall of your board as the metal may chip as a result. If/when you see any chips on your sidewall take care to file them down as early as possible to avoid this metal catching on anything. Our new 08 metal boards (like the one you have) is our strongest metal boards yet and if treated properly should last several seasons. Have fun and enjoy the ride. Dean was great to work with. Can't wait to get some time in on their product.
  11. They actually made a Step in Performance, Step-in Race and Step-in Carrier. Never rode 'em but rode with someone that had the Step-in Race and they seemed more of a pain in the arse than an actual advantage. Also heard about the durability issues.

Never had the opportunity to meet Chuck, but I sure enjoyed his contribution here! Always a positive vibe from him - he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers with him and his family.

    E-mail sent Steve!
  17. "Using the world's first slope-side luminescent technology, Ghost Boards absorb light all day, then glow blue, green and red in fog, twilight and while night riding. "Every sick turn you carve down that 45 degree slope will be illuminated. And our thoroughly modern top-sheet graphics also glow, making an enlightened style statement." ENLIGHTENED STYLE STATEMENT... THAT alone put these in the "GOTTA HAVE IT" category for me. I'm leanin' toward the "GhostBrigade" model...SWELL!

    Catek D3

I'd say over-torquing the binding hardware would be your biggest contributor. D3 sounds like a good product!
  19. Agreed! Priorities...perspective
  20. Would love to try the Head Intelligence technology. Noticed only freeride/freestyle sticks offered on their site. Any alpine shapes?
