  1. for many laughs. great idea. love the "general disgust from the public" comment. someone PLEASE take numerous pics/and or vid from both sessions!
  2. in the small chance that I need my softboots stretched, can someone recommend a place (or person, etc) close to the ogden area? thx
  3. so we're trying a new place called The Homestead...something like 150 miles of trails we'll be there next Wed (1/2) from 9 - 2...can't convince my buddy to do it a second day b/c it's sooo expensive... so, with that being said? any SLC / Ogden area locals interested in renting out their snowmobiles to a friend and I for a few days.... :) it's ~ 150/day and 300 for about 7-8 hrs. is a bit much....
  4. UT/ PC locals, i'll be " 'bilin" next Monday (and possibly another day)....we did Daniel's Summit last time and it was f'n awesome (though back was bothering me the next day from being hunched over so much) my buddy found this place near PC, http://www.snowmobileparkcity.com/RatesReservations.html looks a little cheaper than DS: http://www.danielssummit.com/ anyone have a recommendation for one over the other? also, what's teh speed difference b/w 500 CC and 600 CC? and... what time does it get dark around there?
  5. SLC guys, i just booked a trip 12/29 - 1/3, staying with my friend in Ogden. Hopefully it'll go well, I haven't ridden since my collision last Jan... anyway, we'll definitely be going to Powder Mtn. one day and snowmobiling and Daniels Summit another day and the other 2 are up for grabs... how's it looking there now? (i didn't see where Powder said how many trails were open)... assuming my friend is cool with it, i wouldn't mind checking out Park City....if any of you wanna try to meet, i'm game...(assuming my back is bothering me too much from 'bilin!) === Barry
  6. is the only one i've ever seen, "cheating or not," so if i see anyone pull off even a "cheat 360," i'll be impressed.... listen up people, i can do a 160!!!! i refuse to try this on a weekend in the mid atlantic...entirely too dangerous...if i can go to mac this year, i'll take video (unless someone has an actual video cam, which would work better)

Next time you can't sleep because of a stuffed-up nose, try it. You won't laugh so hard" Have you tried that? ii tried sleeping w/ one of those breatheright strips a few weeks ago..apparently they fall off in the middle of the night
  8. what a great thread. i couldn't agree more with the speedracerjvb. seems a just a few members have to be constant d'bags and are almost always either angry at the world, overly pessimistic and find fault in everything, generally criticize, or think they are the BOL police (or some combination thereof)...like the guy said: "honestly, we have better things to do with our lives, you should consider doing the same" so the guy actually has a life and does other things besides BOL ...follow his lead, dont' hold it against him. seriously, i would LUV to meet some of you in person
  9. Rich, Please exercise extreme caution if riding 'Tail on the weekends (especially Blue) - turning wide (and the ensuing collision) is half the reason I sat out last year - don't want that to happen to anyone else. Also, Limelight, if choppy, may be challenging (just fyi) hope to see you out there
  10. Hi, I have only a few hours to make a decision..was invited to a college-style trip to Tremblant during MLK weekend...price is right, and the focus is more partying than riding (for me, anyhow), but some good friends are going...seems some here definitely don't like Tremblant (I searched for previus posts), but i'd like to hear from locals or regulars only.... 1. Will this mountain be ridiculously packed that weekend? 2. What are the trails like? Anything carve worthy? 3. anything else i should know? I heard it would be a 13 hour bus ride from D.C. - yikes
  11. i have 3 custom graphics from Donek- Sean did an excellent job. as far as i know, you should be using Illustrator, which is a vector program, vs. photoshop, which is bitmap. also, i was told that i could not have graphics too close to the edge, and you cannot have them overly complicated. I imported 2 actual pictures and tweaked them, and they came out great. they are all black, the board is metallic silver.
  12. interpreting tone over the net can be challenging eaglez, who are you referring to? buell, i had completely forgotten....i don't post much anymore. thx for the "i knew it would be good" comment....i had no idea
  13. hey guys, for hatin' on the steretypical male teenage snowboarder park monkey, some of you sure as hell sound like them "your mom/girlfriend" this and that....come on man, show some creativity, especially if you're gonna have an "attitude sticker" "your mom/girlfriend" makes you worse than the stereotypical teen b/c most of us here are well past that stage in life.... so no, i don't think those are very funny at all....sorry
  14. I've enjoyed learning from you, Phil, and Neil. Sean from snowperf was great too, and a joker. =)
  15. "actually, I AM a rockstar and I AM the man, as well." won the local "guitar hero" competiton?
  16. sorry he was a dick to you, however he's still the man. i met Billy F Gibbons (aka 1/3 of zz top) in LAX in March and he was sorta a dick, but he's still the man- sorta, lol. they're rock starz dude, we're not.
  17. saw them last Thursday at Verizon Center. They pretty much owned. "edit: hairspray and genetics have not been kind to DLR scalp plugs ? weave ?" who cares, he's still the man, still has the stage theatrics, and do i have to even say he's probably gotten far more (fine) ass in a few months than most guys do in a lifetime. Yeah, he's still a bona fide rock star.
  18. i grew up in an area with a lot of deer...in all my years driving on these very hilly and narrow roads, i only hit 1 deer, and it wasn't completely dead. it was at night, no one really around , except my girlfriend at the time, who was freaking out. i don't carry a gun and it was still alive. no way was i going mess with it, even though it wasn't a mature dear, i'm not ted nugent and i don't claim (and certainly dont' want) to be. a pickup truck sealed the deal a few minutes later. so what woud you have suggsted if the pickkup truck didn't come by? running over the animal was not an option. yeah roadkill is a bad thing...but i think you're failing to realize how many "country" folk or otherwise non-city people go into a big city and do stupid stuff (like go into the wrong neighboorhoods) that is just common sense to the people that live there. i recall an earlier thread about this. like many things, it goes both ways.
  19. "Needs iTunes (I hate that software)" don't necessarly agree with this. depends what you're trying to do. you can listen to songs actually located on your ipod with other apps (such as real player). I recall reading SW other than itunes that could also be used to manage itunes. for itunes alternatvies, view these results: http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?stquery=ipod&sort=group_ranking&sortdir=asc&offset=10&form_cat=99 out of curiousity, what specifically do you not like about itunes app?
  20. "The other part of my town are the rich kids my age who by ten snowboards outfits, 7 park boards and sorry attitudes that resemble wannabe Gangsters. All I get when I go to school or up to the hill for a race is "Your so lame, why would you ever wanna be on such a lame race board?" Robbie, I'm 29, so it wasn't THAT long ago that i was your age. You keep doing what you are doing, end of story. My motto throughout high school was "be yourself." Whether or not they will admit it, your peers respect you for carving - even some of the kids who give you ****. The guys that give you **** do it just to make themselves feel better, especially if it's in front of their friends. They're insecure, like most of your male peers. I guarantee you that at least 1/2 of those guys couldn't ride your boards and they know this, but they would never admit it around you or anyone they didn't really trust. I don't know what your personality is like, but if you feel confident or are agressive, I would suggest challenging them to ride your board the next time they give you ****. I bet a few of them will shut up. If they keep giving you **** but pass your offer up, then you call them out on it. bring your race buddies along if you can. keep riding your carving boards and try to ride a standard board too if you feel that's consistent with your goals. if it doesn't already, your carving will blow theirs away and hopefully you'll be able to hang with these clowns in the park. when you get to college, you'll see people start thinking for themselves and you won't get as much ****. I'm willing to bet the older people in your life would really be impressed with you if they knew you made this decision to go against the trend. i'll ride with you any day (and i'll ride teh Speed i bought from you =) ) best, Barry
  21. C5, I don't think most people realize that unless you disable some settings, by default google collects information through several different ways, including web searches. gmail users will notice ads related to the topic of their email. google is amazing. jack, there is a "google hacks" book. I use the "define <term>" capability constantly at work to check word spelling and definitions if I am unsure. it's much quicker than going to m-w.com. also there is a calculator function which is cool. google mini search bar in yoru web browser also saves time. and of course gmail is amazing even though you cannot block specific senders (surprisingly) lastly, workikng for google would be awesome - perhaps teh most non traditional major IT company....
  22. I agree with d-sub (gasp, i know)....I made "ride the edge" with windows movie maker....combine effects, get creative
  23. are athletes first, not entertainers. they dont' study acting, speaking (that's for sure), or any other entertainment-related activities. They get paid what they d b/c sports is a huge industry and the public will pay the prices. Is it fair that some guy who may not have even graduated college makes such a ridiculous amount of money? no, probably not....but, athletes are physical specimens compared to the rest of us, they have great genetics, and the clean ones have worked very hard to perform the way they do. many of them are naturally great at what they do. legalizing steroids in sports? A very bad suggestion any way you look at it. have you ever participated in a sport? Accomplishment, pride in knowing you've done your best w/o cheating, honest competition - these are some underlying objectives of sports (in addition to winning). Steroids is cheating - any way you look at it. ...this debate should NOT about "what the fans want." MLB let that happen and now they are paying the price. this is about keeping sports real and honest (as much as they can be). if you're to see a bunch of roid heads, or follow professional bodybuilding. "When I watch sports, I want to see awesome things happen," check out Highlight reels and ESPN SportsCenter. from an ethical perspective, athletes taking roids could never be condoned. their impact on society, and kids in general, is waaay too much. Would you allow your kid to juice? It's bad enough there are very very few actual role model athletes. for the record, i think a lot of currently illegal things shoudl be legal, i'm not conservative by any stretch of the imagination, but steroids in sports is bad for many reasons.
  24. "Wine glass spotted! Someone has class!" you were joking right?
  25. Hugh, the bobblehead pic is funny, very clever. so somewhere on espn.com, costas was interviewed and very eloquently made the argument that it's very conceivable and quite likely that Bonds juiced if you really look into his numbers. Bonds was a great player before he got huge, but as Costas put it, his numbers, as he aged, became "superhuman" and there's no reasonable conclusion. on a personal level, i wish this cheater would change his name. he gives the rest of us Barrys a bad name on a somewhat related note, for an entertaining costas interview, check out costas and Vince McMahon , pt. 1
