It's a little late this year but I'm curious how much a person could expect to improve by attending an ATC.
I remember about ten years ago I went to the last two days of SES Aspen hoping I could go from where I was then, and find myself now, in my carving progression, i.e. linking a few Norms on the perfect bowl shaped, pretty gentle slope where speed control seemed to take care of itself, to laying it down like a Corey, and many of you, do. Actually as I continue to remember ten years ago I could look down at my tracks from the chair and see my pencil lines cutting across that semi-bowl shaped slope slope, edge changes making it appear that the board left the snow. I was feeling pretty good about my carving until I got to the top of some slope on Ajax and I tried to follow Fin and a couple of other guys down the mountain. I couldn't even come close to carving with those guys. I couldn't even carve at all. I became so frustrated I packed up, drove back to Grand Junction, flew back to Salt Lake, drove up to Alta and found four feet of pow which I enjoyed on my skis. I hung up my carving board and went back to skiing until this season.
Bottom line.....how much progress have some of you made because of attending a few days (I'd never get away for an entire week) of a SES, ATC etc?
